Chapter 80 If You Want to Leave, Just Leave. Don't Disgust People by Staying

Luke's office.

Terry seemed quite idle today. He spent the entire morning leisurely drinking tea on Luke's couch and refused to leave even during lunch break. When asked, he just said he had nothing to do and was passing by the building, coming in to sit for a while.

Luke was initially worried that Elsa might not be adjusting well to the new environment and wanted to check on her on the 15th floor, but with Terry around, he couldn't go.

He glanced at the clock. It was 11:30.

"I'm going to have lunch with my wife. Are you leaving or not?" Luke raised his chin, signaling Terry to leave.

"No rush, maybe your wife has something to discuss with me." Before Terry could finish his sentence, the door to Luke's office was forcefully pushed open, revealing Elsa's angry face.

"Luke Taylor,  you're something else! If you can't let go of her, why pretend with me? Were all those things you said yesterday just nonsense?" Elsa stood at the door, fuming, her chest heaving, and her face flushed red.

"You even got me to work at Dalton Banks. Do you enjoy having two women fight over you? Why not bring Karen Miller in too, to further showcase your charm?"

Elsa, usually so quiet, was now standing with her hands on her hips, scolding like a machine gun, surprising both Luke and Terry.

People passing by the office door glanced over.

"Come in and make yourself clear." Luke walked to the door, grabbed Elsa's arm, and pulled her inside.

"Now you're embarrassed? I want everyone to hear what your intentions are by having his first love manage his wife at the company!"

Elsa stood her ground, her voice sharp and slightly coquettish, but her face showed only anger.

Luke looked at Terry, who was sipping tea with a smug expression, and suddenly understood the hidden meaning in his earlier words.

"Ok. Go ahead and explain," Luke said.

"A few days ago, the manager of Dalton Banks' design department was transferred away, and I recommended Margaret. She studied jewelry design and had been leading teams abroad, making her very credible. All the shareholders, except you, approved unanimously."

Terry had been waiting for Elsa to lose her composure, thinking, 'Isn't Elsa always so aloof and fearless? Now she is breaking down too?"

Terry looked at Elsa with a half-smile, but spoke to Luke, "If you can recommend Elsa Miller for an internship, I can certainly push Margaret for the manager position, right?"

Luke frowned, understanding the reason of Elsa's immense anger.

He wrapped his arm around Elsa's waist and coaxed gently, "Let's go out for lunch first and talk it over slowly."

"Eat by yourself! If you want a divorce, just say it outright. If not, stop disgusting me!" Elsa stomped on Luke's foot and stormed out.

It was the first time Elsa couldn't hold it in and lost her temper so badly.

Watching Elsa's departing figure, Luke felt a headache coming on. He said, "Terry Clark, what good does it do for you to mess up my family?"

Elsa didn't eat lunch at all. She sat at her desk, distracted the entire day under the guise of learning on her first day.

By the time she finished work in the evening, Luke had blocked her at the door.

"Let's go. Have dinner together," Luke said.

"No!" Elsa replied irritably, trying to walk past him. But before she knew it, Luke had scooped her up and carried her into the elevator.

"Let me go!"

They were in the employee elevator, and it was peak time after work. About 20 people squeezed together, making room for their president, Luke.

"Good evening, Mr. Taylor!"

"Good evening, Mr. Taylor!"

Everyone greeted politely, and Luke nodded in response.

Elsa, being held by Luke, wished she could disappear on the spot, but Luke acted as if nothing was amiss, carrying her all the way to the underground parking lot.

"What's going on?"

"That looks like the new intern in Dalton Banks' design department."

"She is already dating Mr. Taylor on her first day?"

"No way, they must have been dating before she started.“

As people exited the elevator, they dispersed, gossiping, each face lit with the joy of witnessing drama.
