Chapter 19 A Suicide Attempt

Elsa left Luke's mansion in the afternoon and didn’t expect to come back in the early morning.
"David, you scum."

She was laid flat in the back seat of the car by Luke, mumbling all the way.
"What?" Luke seemed to hear a name in a daze.
"David, you scum!" Elsa said again.
“David. Isn’t he Karen's father?”
"Do you know David?" Luke casually asked as he started the car.
"That scum, how could I know him? Not only do I not know him, Vincent wouldn't want him either! A person like him should go to hell."
Elsa suddenly rolled off the seat and vomited all over Luke's car.
Luke was a clean freak. The car was almost dust-free all year round, so the smell of vomit with alcohol made him frown.
"Elsa."
He pulled off only to find Elsa had already passed out.
“Is this woman a pig? How can she sleep with such a stench?” He murmured. Luke was furious, regretting not leaving her on the roadside. He didn’t know why he came to look for her.
Luke liked cleanliness, but there were no maids in the mansion, only a cleaning company that came every other day. When he got home, he had to endure the nausea and carried Elsa on his shoulders into the bathroom.
"Wake up!" He shook her shoulders and patted her face.
He didn't want to deal with her vomit-covered body.
Unexpectedly, with his vigorous shaking, Elsa vomited again.
Luke was very angry.
He grabbed the shower head and sprayed cold water on Elsa's face. She barely opened her eyes, leaning against the edge of the bathtub, and fell asleep again.
Luke sighed helplessly, holding his breath as he dealt with her.
Her dress was as dirty as a rag. Irritated, he threw it aside, then half-hugged her to remove her earrings and watch.
Several scars on Elsa's left wrist caught Luke's attention, especially under the dim light in the bathroom.
They had slept together a few times, yet he had never noticed this before.
No wonder she always wore a watch.
"Did she ever make a suicide attempt in the past? For what reason?" His eyes, which held a trace of scorn just a moment ago, became as cold as ice while he yanked Elsa into the bathtub.
Cold water poured over her head, and Elsa opened her eyes, somewhat dazed.
"Why did you try to kill yourself?"
At that moment, Luke felt a hint of fear.
‘Why did she want to die? If that suicide attempt had succeeded.’ He closed his eyes, afraid to think further.
"Elsa, you seemed to be fearless before, didn’t you? Why did you want to die!" His voice was unusually loud enough to make Elsa tremble.
"Stop it. I want to sleep." Elsa mumbled, closing her eyes again.
Luke didn't know how to clean Elsa up, and he kept struggling until almost dawn before tossing this drunkard onto the bed.
Elsa slept restlessly.
He sighed and pulled her into his arms.
"I owe you in my past life.” Luck sighed.
[Come over at two in the afternoon. Pick me up for a trip to the courthouse.] He sent a message to Max.
‘If she wanted to marry him, then so be it. To prevent this neurotic woman from committing suicide, I’d better keep her under my watch; no matter how many problems she causes, at least I can control the situation.’
"Mom," Elsa screamed.
Luke reached out to touch her face and found that she was full of tears.
