Chapter 234 Margaret's Apology

Luke happily agreed to her offer.

Following her lead, Luke drove them to this little seafood joint.

"I used to come here with Chloe all the time. They have oysters this big," Elsa said, showing Luke with her hands. Her fingers were long and delicate, with a hint of pink, making it hard for Luke to look away.

Luke was usually pretty picky about food, but seeing Elsa so excited made him want to give it a shot.

"We'll take this one, and this one too," Elsa told the waiter, pointing at the seafood on the digital menu.

"No way, pregnant women can't have raw oysters, and that swordfish has too much mercury," Luke said, reaching out to cancel the order and adding a chicken soup for Elsa.

He was a busy guy, but he knew more about pregnancy diets than she did. Elsa felt warm inside but joked, "I can't eat it, but you can, right? Oh, wait, the doctor said you're 'pregnant' too."

"Stop talking nonsense," Luke said, flicking her nose playfully.

The nearby waiter blushed at the sight.

The food took its time, but they weren't in a rush. Even though they spent a lot of time together at home, Luke and Elsa cherished these little dates outside.

They just looked at each other without saying much and felt happy.

"Luke, Elsa, you're here too!"

Margaret spotted them from a distance and walked over.

Elsa wondered why Margaret was here and then noticed someone behind her.

"This is my boyfriend, Ernesto Jenkins," Margaret quickly introduced.

Elsa remembered how Margaret had tried to come between her and Luke last time and felt uneasy, so she didn't respond.

But Luke nodded at Ernesto as a greeting.

"Go ahead and order. I'll join you in a bit," Margaret said softly to Ernesto, pulling up a chair to sit down.

Ernesto nodded and left.

"Alright, you don't have to pretend anymore," Elsa said, crossing her arms and looking at her tensely.

"Elsa, Luke, I'm really sorry for what happened before!" Margaret suddenly blurted out.

"I used to target Elsa in every way and did a lot of wrong things. It was all my foolishness!" Margaret looked very sincere, saying, "My dad's health is getting worse, and I'm really scared he'll pass away. I'm even more scared that before he goes, he'll marry me off to just anyone. I was scared, so I kept chasing after Luke. I always thought that since we had a crush on each other when we were young, there must still be some old feelings."

She continued, "I was too selfish! I'm sorry, Elsa. I shouldn't have done so many wrong things! I know I don't deserve your forgiveness. But please believe me, I won't bother Luke anymore. I'll focus on my relationship and get married."

"Luke, Elsa. I'm sorry!" Margaret said, starting to cry again.

Luke was used to it and didn't react much.

Elsa, who was always soft-hearted, didn't want to get entangled with Margaret. Seeing her so emotional, she sighed and said, "Let's leave the past behind. Live well, Ms. Collins. I wish you happiness."

She could never be friends with Margaret, but as long as Margaret didn't harm her again, she wouldn't hold a grudge.
