Chapter 364 The Persuader

After finishing their late-night snack, it was already 1 AM. Luke drove Elsa home.

Elsa had some reservations initially. She had moved to a place he didn't know, and now telling him the address felt like inviting trouble.

But in this atmosphere, it was hard to refuse.

"Don't worry, I'll drop you off downstairs and leave," Luke said, sensing her thoughts, as he focused on the road ahead.

Elsa breathed a sigh of relief.

"Is it really necessary?" Seeing her relieved expression, Luke couldn't help but feel a bit angry. Was she really avoiding him like the plague?

"Well, we are divorced after all. It's better to avoid suspicion," Elsa mumbled softly.

The atmosphere turned cold for a moment. Luke's face hardened, and he stopped talking to her, making Elsa feel a bit awkward.

From the restaurant to Elsa's place, it was less than a 10-minute drive. Elsa thought it was time to probe about Jonny.

"What do you plan to do about Jasmine and Jonny?" she asked abruptly.

"What do you think?" Luke countered.

Elsa pondered for a moment and decided not to beat around the bush with Luke. "Dylan is on his deathbed, and he wants to do whatever it takes to get Wind out. Can you extend Wind's sentence?"

"Wind poses no threat to Jonny." Luke was stating a fact.

Wind had missed out on too much during his more than a year in prison. During this time, Jonny had already built his own network. Even if Wind got out, he couldn't turn things around.

"Seeing Wind free before he dies is Dylan's last wish. But Jonny says someone like Dylan shouldn't leave without any regrets. He should die with his eyes open, he should go to hell."

Elsa explained, "You know, the Jones family's situation is quite complicated. Jonny, like me, hates his father."

Luke turned to look at Elsa's suddenly serious expression, feeling a pang in his heart.

He didn't care about the Jones family's affairs; he only cared about the person in front of him. "Do you think I should agree to this condition?"

Elsa turned to meet his gaze, her eyes moist but her tone steady. "You know, Jonny and I are friends. It's hard for me to be objective."

"You don't need to be objective."

The car arrived at Elsa's apartment complex. Luke parked and gently brushed her eyelashes with his thumb.

They weren't wet, thankfully.

"I'll keep Wind locked up until Dylan dies," Luke said, turning off the engine.

This negotiation was too easy, leaving Elsa a bit stunned.

"You agreed just like that?"

"If you think I agreed too easily and it lacks a sense of accomplishment, then give me a little reward and thank me."

Luke got out of the car with her and pulled Elsa into his arms. His voice was low and seductive in her ears.

Elsa's heartbeat was so loud it startled her, making her shiver slightly.

Luke was amused by her reaction and chuckled softly.

"Go on inside," he said, his lips lightly brushing her forehead. "And don't stream on an empty stomach again."

"Okay," Elsa replied, her heart in a frenzy, and hurriedly fled.

Watching her slender figure disappear, Luke's heart felt as soft as a cloud.

Was she really that happy with such a small favor? Didn't she know that whatever she wanted, no matter what it was, he would give it to her?

Even when she got home, Elsa's heart was still racing.

Suddenly, a message came through.

It was a picture from Luke.
