Chapter 287 Luke Picks Jasmine Up
Elsa was clearly trying to make things difficult for Jasmine. Chloe and Jonny were happy to cooperate.
"I don't want you to blow," Elsa said with a half-smile. "Did you put onions in the grilled fish? I don't like onions."
Since when did she not like onions?
Jonny's eyes twinkled as he lightly tapped Elsa's head with his chopsticks. "Do you think I would forget you don't like onions?"
Elsa playfully stuck out her tongue.
"You just spoil her." Chloe laughed from the side, giving a knowing look to the others.
Everyone suddenly understood and started to make a fuss.
Jasmine finally couldn't stay calm. She said, "Elsa, you just divorced Luke and now you're trying to seduce Jonny. You really are two-faced."
Jasmine called her two-faced? Wasn't it Jasmine who forced her into this?
Elsa sneered inwardly but said pitifully, "It's so embarrassing that you're exposing my privacy in front of my new friends today. As classmates, Jonny and I have always been close. You know that, right?"
She continued, "Jasmine, one big reason I divorced Luke is because you treated me as a rival. Have you forgotten you even wrote a promise to keep a three-foot distance from me?"
"Elsa, you're slandering me! You bitch!" Jasmine's anger flared, and she slammed her forks down.
"Can't you talk things out calmly?"
"You two just say less and drink up."
"Ms. Taylor, what would you like to drink?"
Several men started to mediate.
Jonny's face turned cold as he put down his forks and glared at Jasmine.
"Elsa is my friend and my guest. And Ms. Taylor, if you came to congratulate me on my new home, you're welcome. But if you're here to argue with my guest, then please leave!"
His words made it clear he was protecting Elsa.
"Jonny, is my love for you something to be trampled on?" Jasmine's eyes reddened.
"If your love for me means repeatedly hurting my friends, then I must decline it."
These harsh words left Jasmine furious. What she didn't know was that Chloe had already recorded Jasmine's jealous outburst and sent the video to Terry.
"Everyone, just say less. Ms. Taylor, I toast to you. After all, you are my future sister-in-law." Chloe raised her glass.
Chloe's future sister-in-law was chasing after Jonny. The three men who were unfamiliar with the situation exchanged shocked glances. This news was explosive.
Jasmine, feeling uncomfortable with Chloe's words, turned her head away. "It's Terry who insists on marrying me. I don't like him."
"Everyone, stop talking. Come on, if you consider me a friend, let's have a drink together to celebrate my new home."
Jonny went to get a bottle of wine for Jasmine and handed her a glass, slightly easing the tension. Jasmine, feeling upset, drank more and more.
Before long, the doorbell rang again.
"This time it should be the fried chicken," said the person who ordered the takeout, running to open the door.
"Sorry to interrupt, I'm here to take Jasmine home." This time, it was Luke standing at the door.
"Why is he here?" Elsa asked Chloe with her eyes.
Chloe shrugged, spread her hands, and shook her head. She had only sent the video to Terry, who might immediately inform Luke.
"Luke." Jasmine, inherently afraid of Luke, instinctively shrank back and greeted him softly.
"I expect you home in half an hour," Luke said coldly, leaving this sentence for Jasmine before turning to leave. He didn't even glance at Elsa.
