Chapter 230 Jasmine Pushed Her
Once Elsa found out she was pregnant, it felt like time just started crawling.
She couldn't wait for Luke to come back, daydreaming about how she'd break the news to him.
Knowing Luke, he'd definitely bring her a gift. She thought it'd be fun to blindfold him and surprise him with the pregnancy report as a return gift.
Luke would probably be over the moon, but he'd try to play it cool, acting all nonchalant.
Maybe it was the pregnancy hormones, but Elsa became more gentle, getting excited about the baby.
She even went on a shopping spree online, buying all sorts of stuff for prenatal education, ready to play music and read bedtime stories to the little one.
But before Luke could get back, Jasmine showed up out of nowhere.
"Elsa, what the heck is up with you emailing the Clark family?" Jasmine barged in, fuming.
Elsa was caught off guard. "What email?"
"Don't play dumb! Didn't you send these?!" Jasmine yelled, throwing a stack of papers at her. Elsa picked them up and skimmed through.
These papers was all about Jasmine chasing after Jonny, embarrassing the Taylor family, and then deciding to marry into the Clark family when she realized it was a lost cause.
After reading it, Elsa handed them back, her face blank. "I didn't write these. And honestly, isn't it true? Why are you so mad?"
"Elsa, you witch! Ever since I got back, I've only had issues with you. Who else could it be except you?" Jasmine was ready to pounce on her.
Elsa took a cautious step back, instinctively protecting her belly. "Got any proof?"
"Your name is right here, and you still won't admit it!" Jasmine shouted.
Elsa laughed, clearly annoyed. "Jasmine, are you stupid? If I did it, why would I sign my name? For a few bucks? Would I risk the Taylor family hating me for some cash?"
'Besides, this article isn't up to my level,' Elsa thought to herself.
"Stop trying to weasel out of it. It was you!" Jasmine snapped and suddenly shoved Elsa.
Elsa hit the ground hard, fear jolting through her as she instinctively protected her belly.
She felt a warm sensation between her legs—she was bleeding!
"Help! Save my baby!" she cried out in panic.
Late that night, at Valley of Hope Hospital.
Luke, still in shock, sat by Elsa's bedside, his hand trembling as he held hers.
When he heard about Elsa's accident, he rushed back immediately.
She was pregnant and had almost lost the baby because of Jasmine!
"Don't worry, I'm here. The baby's fine, we can keep it," he whispered, his heart aching.
"I wanted to surprise you, but it almost turned into a nightmare," Elsa pouted.
Luke's brows were furrowed, having seen the troublesome article himself. His first thought was, 'If Elsa wrote this, it would be a hundred times better.'
He'd seen her writing before.
The article had been sent directly by Terry's father, Patrick Clark, the head of the Clark family, to Aaron and Holly. The message was clear: if Jasmine wanted to marry into the Clark family, she had to deal with her mess first.
Aaron and Holly didn't really believe Elsa wrote it, but they were mad at Jasmine for her reckless behavior abroad, which had given someone leverage.
Unexpectedly, Jasmine blamed Elsa, stormed into the villa, and pushed her.
Jasmine stood outside the hospital room, too scared to go in.
Holly had lost all her composure, repeatedly apologizing at Elsa's bedside.
"You've been through so much, baby," Luke said, bringing Elsa's hand to his lips. "Let me handle this, okay?" he murmured, gently kissing the back of her hand.
