Chapter 83 Need Lily Roberts
Elsa's depression relapsed again. She urgently swallowed a handful of antidepressants, didn't even take off her clothes, and fell asleep immediately.
Luke looked at Elsa, feeling as if his heart was being torn apart, with unbearable pain.
"You and Lily Roberts need to come over, quickly," Luke said while changing Elsa into clean clothes and calling Karida.
"Did her depression relapse?"
Karida and Terry hadn't slept all night either. Upon hearing the news, they quickly contacted Lily and rushed to Luke's villa together.
"I'm sorry." Terry no longer wanted to defend himself. Elsa was right. She had never done anything to hurt him. On the contrary, he had been aggressive and constantly humiliating her.
"I can't forgive you on her behalf." Luke's eyes were bloodshot and he looked at Terry with a face full of fatigue.
Elsa slept until the afternoon. When she opened her eyes, she felt dizzy and uncomfortable all over.
Luke had already hidden all the sharp objects in the house, fearing that Elsa might harm herself again.
The first thing Elsa said when she saw Luke was, "Contact Lily Roberts. I need him."
Elsa's desire to recover this time was even stronger than before. She couldn't fall and she needed to take revenge as soon as possible.
"Lily Roberts is waiting downstairs," Luke said hoarsely, wiping Elsa's face with a wet towel before asking someone to bring Lily upstairs.
Lily and Elsa talked in Luke's study until the evening. Luke sent Karida and Terry away and sat alone in the second-floor hall, smoking and brooding all afternoon.
That afternoon, Luke thought about many things. Even now, he couldn't determine his feelings for Elsa, but he realized that when she was sad, he felt heartache. When she was happy, his mood brightened immensely.
That was enough.
These were the reasons why Luke was willing to pay any price to keep Elsa by his side, to pamper her and treat her well.
Elsa was sensitive and fragile, so he would let her be.
What did it matter if Elsa was at odds with the world? Luke was willing to back her up in everything.
Luke should let Elsa be herself and he shouldn't force her to become someone else.
When Lily and Elsa came out, it was already late at night. Elsa's face still had traces of dried tears.
Luke stubbed out his cigarette and walked over cautiously.
"From now on, just come to my counseling office two days a week," Lily instructed Luke.
Luke nodded and had someone see Lily out.
Luke and Elsa stood in the hall, facing each other.
"I'm sorry." Luke's voice was hoarse, and his lips were shadowed with stubble.
"It's okay. I'm just too fragile."
Elsa shook her head, unwilling to say more.
"If you don't like seeing Margaret Collins, I'll transfer her away."
"No need."
If a department manager was transferred because of an intern like her, Elsa's work life at Dalton Banks would become even more difficult.
"It's okay. I just want to sleep again. I'll be fine tomorrow," Elsa said, then walked past Luke into the bedroom.
Elsa hadn't eaten all day. By midnight, she couldn't take it anymore.
Her stomach cramped more and more severely. Elsa sat up, large drops of cold sweat rolling down her face.
Luke also suddenly opened his eyes, with clarity in his gaze. He hadn't slept at all.
"Sweetie, just eat some oatmeal and you'll feel better." Luke picked up the thermos cup by the bed, tested the temperature, and fed the prepared half-cup of oatmeal to Elsa while half-holding her.
He then got out of bed to get a heating pad and placed it on Elsa's stomach over her pajamas.
"Thank you."
"Sorry."
Elsa and Luke spoke almost simultaneously.
"I shouldn't have been so self-centered. Elsa, from now on, you can be willful, do what you want, and refuse what you don't want to do."
'As long as you're healthy and happy.' Luke kept the last sentence to himself.
"Okay." Elsa nodded thoughtfully, "Let's sleep."
