Chapter 441 Narrow Road Encounter
Poetic Patterns started as a business run by three people, but now two of the partners, Jonathan and Chloe, were barely speaking due to personal issues, leaving most of the work to fall on Elsa's shoulders.
After a lot of effort, Elsa managed to get the business back on track and was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. But before long, she found herself swamped again because of Jonathan and Chloe's issues.
Christmas had come and gone in the blink of an eye, and New Year's was just around the corner. The time to return to school was drawing nearer. Elsa thought, just a bit more effort to get everything on the right track, and when she insisted on leaving, Jonathan and Chloe wouldn't be able to stop her.
In addition to her work, Elsa had been doing a deep dive into Karen's background, largely thanks to Luke's efforts.
That day, she and Chloe had been correct—Karen was back.
Karen had snagged herself an old tycoon from Valeria and had managed to convince him to divorce his wife and marry her. She had somehow obtained Valeria citizenship, and now she was officially a wealthy socialite.
She had changed her nationality, undergone plastic surgery, and adopted a name with a distinct Valeria flair. Most people wouldn't recognize her as Karen.
Except for Elsa, who had a deep-seated grudge.
Elsa encountered Karen again at an ultra-luxury jewelry exhibition.
Elsa studied jewelry design and attended every exhibition she could, especially one as rare as this ultra-luxury event.
As soon as she entered, she headed straight for the eight-figure section to feast her eyes. Unexpectedly, she ran into Karen, who was dressed to the nines and trying on a lavish ruby necklace weighing several carats.
Elsa glanced at the price: over $49 million.
Karen's entourage showered her with compliments: "You have such great taste. This necklace could buy a mansion in Maplewood City."
Karen had made a formidable comeback.
If the Miller family had this kind of spending power back then, there wouldn't have been a need to drive Elsa's mother to desperation over Rhys' necklace. Elsa stood at a distance, arms crossed, with a mocking expression on her face.
Karen noticed her and quickly looked over.
"Well, well, look who's back in style," Elsa sneered.
She knew Karen wasn't here just for a visit; Karen's target was her, to ruin her.
But now, face-to-face, she couldn't afford to lose her composure.
Karen hesitated for a moment. She had rehearsed countless times how she would deny everything when running into Elsa, but now she felt there was no need for pretense.
After half a minute, she smirked. "Yeah, I bet you didn't expect me to come back alive and in style, huh?"
Finding an old tycoon counts as style? Elsa felt sick but didn't hold back: "You've always been so stylish, haven't you? Your last sugar daddy, Dylan, has been in the ICU for months. Have you visited him?"
Elsa always aimed for the jugular. As expected, Karen's face turned extremely ugly: "Elsa, I'm not the same Karen as before. You were lucky Margaret didn't throw acid on you last time. I'm back now, let's see how long you can stay smug!"
She sneered, leaning close to Elsa's ear, and said slowly, "Even if I die, I'll take you down first. Your good days are numbered."
Elsa's face remained impassive: "Oh."
Just as Karen was about to say more, an elderly man with gray hair approached from a distance.
