Chapter 244 Don't Want to Divorce

Alright, very well! Elsa is really generous, returning everything he gave her. Does she think that by doing this, she owes him nothing and can leave cleanly?

After the lawyer left, Luke looked at the drafted contract, his chest aching with anger.

Can those intimate moments and those heart-fluttering instances over the past few months, be written off just like that?

She even made tens of millions of dollars with this building!

She means that the initial capital was given by him, so she doesn't want the extra income either. The time she spent living with him also cost him a lot of money, though the exact amount is unclear and there's no need to calculate it precisely.

She can even consider his reputation at this time and not take it to court! Very well, calm and rational, with a sense of dignity! But not a word about the emotional cost!"

The more Luke thought about it, the angrier he got.

He pushed the door open and pressed Elsa, who was staring blankly at the bed, beneath him.

"Are you in such a hurry to get rid of me?" Questioning, he used all his strength, and Elsa couldn't move.

"It's better for both of us to separate sooner." Elsa remarked carmly. She no longer had the look of utter despair from a few days ago; she was calm and in control again.

"Elsa, I told you, as long as I'm alive, you can forget about leaving," Luke snarled fiercely, biting Elsa's neck.

She pressed her lips together and didn't make a sound.

"You've got it all figured out, huh? My heart isn't worth more than these things?" Luke inquired angrily.

She had just recovered from a serious illness, and Luke didn't dare to bite too hard. His chest heaved with anger, and his face turned red.

Elsa turned her head away, refusing to speak.

Whenever she was angry, she would fall silent, and Luke hated this the most!

Luke exclaimed anxiously, "You can throw a tantrum, act out, even make me kneel, but what kind of attitude is it!"

To say something like making him kneel, Luke must be crazy.

Elsa turned her head back and glanced at him.

"I'm not getting a divorce," Luke said.

He was panting heavily, his face full of pain, and Elsa's heart ached along with him.

"As long as I'm alive, you can forget about leaving me!" He repeated.

"Luke, you know my personality. If I am determined to leave, I would rather die than stay."

These words shocked Luke, and he stared into her eyes.

There was no trace of him; in fact, there wasn't even a glimmer of light.

Elsa had become more haggard these past few days. She no longer had her usual vitality, and there was a hint of determination in her exhaustion.

"My hand is on my body, and I won't sign this paper!" Luke stated.

Then he felt a panic in his heart. After a moment of daze, he suddenly stood up and said, "Get well first, we'll talk about it at home."

In the end, he left as if fleeing.

The next day, when Chloe came to visit again, Luke was no longer at the door.

Chloe was puzzled, asking, "Why didn't Luke come today?" From Luke's stance, he didn't seem like someone who would give up easily.

"Who cares, it's better if he doesn't come," Elsa said.

She also felt a faint discomfort in her heart. Yesterday he declared he wouldn't let go, even in death, but today he was so quick to leave! But isn't this exactly what she desired?

She wanted Luke to let go, yet she also yearned for his love. There's no such logic in the world.

Yesterday Astrid went out to get Luke's signature, but it seemed he didn't sign. Why didn't Astrid come today?

Elsa dialed Astrid's number.

"Mrs. Taylor, I've been quite busy lately and can't get away. You should find someone else," Astrid stammered.
