Chapter 216 Brian Gonzalez
"I'll be careful," Elsa said, her voice soft but firm.
"If you get caught and end up in jail, it's game over," Chloe warned.
"Didn't you mention a guy named Brian Gonzalez who's really good at this stuff? Give me his contact info," Elsa said, ignoring Chloe's warning.
Chloe sighed. "Brian's been out of the game for a while. He did some big stuff back in the day and made a ton of money. He might not be interested in a small job like yours."
"Where is he?" Elsa asked.
"Stellaria City," Chloe replied.
After digging around a bit, Elsa got a pretty good idea of who Brian was.
Brian was in his fifties now. When he was younger, he was kept by a famous rich woman in the country for a while. Later, he used his skills to handle a lot of things and gradually made a name for himself, starting his own business.
Brian's operations included money laundering, corporate espionage, and stock manipulation. After decades in the field, he had become a figure even the wealthiest socialites could only dream of rivaling.
After retiring, Brian stayed single. His biggest hobby was gambling, and one major reason he chose to settle in Stellaria City was because gambling was legal there.
Elsa thought it over and decided to take a trip to Stellaria City to try her luck.
"I'm heading out tomorrow, and I might be gone for a few days," Elsa felt she should let Luke know, so she mentioned it at dinner.
"Where are you going?" Luke asked emotionless.
"Stellaria City. I'm going to find Brian," Elsa said, being honest for once.
If Elsa was going out, it had to be something to do with the Miller family. Luke thought for a moment and got her drift.
"Don't put yourself in danger," Luke said seriously.
"You have to trust that I can get out safely," Elsa replied.
"What if I don't let you go?" Luke said.
"Then it'll be much harder for me. Before convincing Brian, I'll have to figure out how to escape from under your nose," Elsa said with a stubborn smile, showing no intention of backing down.
She was too stubborn, and their relationship was already pretty tense.
In the end, Luke said nothing.
Early the next morning, Elsa arrived in Stellaria City. After landing, she didn't rush to contact Brian but went to the biggest casino to play cards.
This was her second time in a casino. Unlike before, she was now someone who could easily take out a few million to exchange for chips.
For three days straight, Elsa stayed in the casino, wearing different styles of red dresses each day, with perfect makeup and a radiant smile.
She dominated the card tables, and when she won money, she exchanged the chips for cash. Using a transparent handbag, she carried the cash downstairs to the luxury store to buy bags. After buying, she carried several bags worth tens of thousands of dollars back upstairs to continue playing.
When men tipped the dealers generously, she was even more extravagant. She stuffed large wads of cash into the dealers' pockets, making everyone laugh.
With her excellent card skills, good looks, and flashy style, Elsa quickly caught the attention of the casino regulars.
"Mr. Gonzalez would like you to join him," a man approached her while she was having dinner in the downstairs restaurant.
Elsa looked up and saw a group of young men and women surrounding an older gentleman. He was wearing a tailored suit, with a sharp jawline and deep eyes—exactly the Brian she was looking for!
No wonder Brian could be kept by a wealthy woman when he was young; he was exceptionally handsome.
Elsa had achieved her first small goal. Though nervous, she said, "What's the matter? Tell him to come over here."
