Chapter 71 Let Her Die in the Hospital

'Does Elsa even love herself?' Luke pondered over and over, but he couldn't be sure.

Karida left, leaving Luke both angry and fearful as he looked at Elsa.

Luke thought, 'Elsa is simply crazy. Not to mention that Margaret is my childhood friend, even if Margaret was in the wrong, Elsa shouldn't have done that for the sake of her own body!'

'Why can't they communicate properly?' Luke thought in frustration.

At that moment, Elsa suddenly woke up from a dream, sitting up abruptly.

Elsa's eyes were blank and fragile as she looked around, finally focusing on Luke's face after a long while.

Luke felt a pang in his heart, but his words were cold as ice, "You're not afraid of death when you're awake, but you get scared out of your wits by nightmares. Elsa Miller, you must have done too many bad things."

Elsa stared blankly. After a long time, she said, 'I'm still alive. That's good.'

After saying that, Elsa even lowered her head and smiled.

Luke could no longer suppress his anger. He reached out and grabbed Elsa's neck, the veins on his forehead bulging with rage.

"Didn't you want to die? I'll grant your wish!" Luke's grip tightened, and Elsa's face quickly turned blue and purple.

When Luke finally let go, Elsa lowered her head and coughed violently for a while before her breathing gradually steadied.

"Margaret Collins told you everything," Elsa stated. Judging from Luke's angry expression, she knew that Margaret's condition wasn't any better than hers either.

'What saddens me is that Luke didn't even give me a chance to explain,' Elsa thought.

Elsa thought that risking her life might earn her some right to speak, but it turned out to be all for nothing.

'Then what was the meaning of that pink diamond bracelet he gave me in the morning?'

Elsa felt a bit disappointed, but she no longer wanted to say anything.

Luke was infuriated by the coldness on Elsa's face.

'She did something wrong and won't explain herself? Does she not realize that if Nathan had found her a bit later, she would have been dead!' Luke thought.

"Elsa Miller, you can't even accept criticism for your mistakes now?" Luke reprimanded.

"Of course, I accept criticism. I just want to know what did I do wrong?" Elsa's tone was icy, and her eyes were full of wariness and distance as she looked at Luke.

Luke was even more enraged by Elsa's sudden aloofness.

"Didn't you drag Margaret into the lake to die together, or was that not you? Or did Margaret drag you into the lake?" Luke's tone was low and terrifying.

"If you say so, then it must be." Elsa gave a bitter smile and lowered her eyes, saying, "If there's nothing else, please leave. I need to rest."

'She doesn't even want to explain!' Luke thought.

Luke got up and left, slamming the door hard on his way out.

Watching Luke's furious back and the shaky door, Elsa felt as if her heart had been clawed by an animal, painful and piercing.

Elsa sent a message to Chloe on Facebook: [I've made up my mind that I won't fall for him again.]

Luke was still fuming as he left the hospital.

Just then, Max called to ask if he needed to buy any daily necessities for the hospital.

"Don't buy anything. Don't bother with her. She keeps talking about dying, so let her die in the hospital!" He shouted in anger before hanging up.

Max had been with Luke for many years and rarely saw him show his emotions. It seemed Luke only got angry because of Elsa.

Max didn't dare to really ignore her, so he quickly arranged for the best caregivers and went to buy some daily necessities for the hospital.

When Max arrived at the hospital, Elsa was about to get an IV. Seeing him place the food and supplies on the bedside table, she looked up and smiled at him.

"Thank you, Max. You don't need to worry about me in the future. I'm very resilient and can take care of myself."

"What are you saying? Mr. Taylor may be angry with you, but he still cares about you. There's nothing between a husband and wife that can't be resolved," Max tried to comfort Elsa gently.

"Max, if I told you I was innocent, would you believe me?" There is a hint of sadness in Elsa's tone.

Max's hand paused for a moment.
