Chapter 182 Blaming Phyllis as a Scapegoat

Elsa, like she was in some kinda daze, strolled over and stopped just shy of Luke.

Her face was all flushed, breathing all over the place, and even her neck had this pinkish tint.

Luke grabbed a towel, wrapped it around his waist, and guided Elsa's hand to his waist and abs.

His body was still damp and warm. Elsa's eyes were all hazy, and her hand was shaking.

"You dig it, don't you?" Luke's voice was all husky with desire.

Elsa dodged his gaze, keeping her mouth shut.

"Why you gotta be so naughty, babe?" Luke whispered, leaning in to kiss her, then yanked off his towel with her hand.

Elsa's heart was pounding as Luke pressed her against the bathroom door.

Even in the heat of the moment, Luke remembered to cushion her head with his hand, which was kinda impressive.

They went at it for hours, moving from the bathroom to the bed, and by the end, Elsa forgot everything she wanted to say.

When Elsa finally snapped back to reality, it was already afternoon.

Vincent had been moved to Valley of Hope Hospital. As soon as Elsa and Luke showed up, they spotted David outside the lobby.

Karen was at the station, and Vincent had been taken by Luke. David hadn't caught a wink in three days.

David called Elsa, but she didn't pick up, so he waited at the hospital.

"Babe, can I talk to David?" Elsa asked Luke with her eyes.

Luke nodded, signaled to the bodyguards, and headed to the ward himself.

"Letting Karen go ain't impossible; it just depends on whether you can keep me satisfied," Elsa declared.

When she spotted him, she shot his own words back at him with a cold stare, words he had said just a few days prior.

David forced a smile. "Sweetheart, what do you want? Cash or something else? If I can swing it, it's yours."

"Really?" Elsa raised an eyebrow. "The Miller family still got dough? I thought you sent Karen to Dylan 'cause you were broke."

"You!" David was hit where it hurt and raised his hand.

"What are you doing!" The bodyguards rushed over, one of them barking at David.

Seeing the situation, David quickly switched back to his suck-up smile.

"Elsa, what do you want? Just spill it! If you can get your sister out, I will do anything."

"Are you serious?" Elsa asked.

"As long as I can do it, definitely!"

David was old and had lost his power. If Karen got convicted and spent years in the slammer, the Miller family would have nothing left when she got out.

Karen was the only one David could use, so he had to find a way to get her out.

"That's simple." Elsa looked at David with a faint smile. "The house might be in Karen's name, but the deed could be Phyllis's doing. If you want Karen out, let Phyllis take the fall."

"Elsa, this wasn't the Miller family's doing, and Phyllis is getting old." David's smile wavered.

"I've shown you the way. Whether you do it is up to you, David. I won't accept any conditions other than using Phyllis as the scapegoat," Elsa said firmly.

Her eyes had a chilling ruthlessness that even the bodyguards found intimidating.

David knew he had no choice and looked troubled.

"You can think it over for a few days. I'll transfer Vincent first." Elsa's voice was cold and commanding. "Let me know when you've made up your mind."

With that, Elsa brushed past David and headed straight to the ward.
