Chapter 446 Dislike Green

"Is that Chloe?"

What's she doing here? She must've seen him at the front desk earlier.

Chloe's probably still mad at him. She just walked by without even saying hi. And what's with the tight skirt? She used to dress so conservatively.

Oh no, Giselle's here too. I hoped she didn't get the wrong idea!

Jonathan's brow furrowed in frustration, his mind racing with thoughts he couldn't quite articulate.

"Mr. King, Mr. King." Giselle's voice snapped him back to reality as she finished the check-in process.

"Huh?"

"Where's the car parked? Street level or underground?" she repeated her question.

"At the entrance, the driver's waiting," Jonathan replied absentmindedly. Why was Chloe at the hotel so late?

"Did Chloe have dinner here tonight?" He casually asked the front desk as they were leaving.

"Yes, Ms. Clark enjoys our French cuisine and often entertains clients here," the receptionist replied.

He didn't even know she liked this restaurant, let alone French food.

Seeing such a scene made Chloe feel nauseous even after she got into the car. She had been drinking, so she let the driver take the wheel while she rested in the back seat with her eyes closed.

"Did you see Jonathan and Giselle... getting a room?" Elsa quickly called after receiving the photos.

"Yeah," Chloe responded nonchalantly.

Elsa felt awkward. She had always thought Jonathan and Chloe were together, not like she had said, "Men will take any woman who throws herself at them, as long as she's not too repulsive."

In her eyes, Jonathan had special feelings for Chloe, even if it wasn't love, it was still different from others.

But now, it seemed that wasn't the case.

Knowing how manipulative Giselle was, Jonathan still hooked up with her. He really was indiscriminate.

"I'm sorry," Elsa's voice was dry. She suddenly felt regretful for ever speaking well of Jonathan to Chloe. She felt deeply ashamed.

"You don't need to apologize to me; it's not your fault," Chloe said, curling up in the back seat, rubbing her tired eyes. "I misjudged him, not you. Besides, I stopped loving him a long time ago."

She tried to sound indifferent, but her heart ached slightly.

It seemed she hadn't completely moved on. Chloe smiled bitterly and shook her head. She was no longer the foolish girl who would hurt herself over Jonathan.

Chloe reassured Elsa and hung up. Her phone screen was still lit with unread messages on WhatsApp.

It was from Jonathan: "Chloe, were you at the Maple Garden Hotel earlier?"

Caught red-handed and feeling guilty? Chloe scoffed and turned on "Do Not Disturb," feeling disgusted.

The next evening, Elsa returned to the King Manor for dinner.

Vincent was out with friends, leaving her, Lara, Jonathan, and Giselle at the table.

She was angry and couldn't hide her disdain for Giselle and Jonathan.

She could forgive them for wronging her, but not for hurting Chloe.

Jonathan didn't seem to notice any difference in her attitude, acting completely unbothered. Didn't he know he'd been caught? Elsa smirked, refusing to be polite to him.

Giselle, on the other hand, was as submissive as ever, eagerly serving everyone at the table, more attentive than the staff.

"Elsa, the salad is very fresh. Have some more," Giselle said, despite Elsa's previous recording of her. She didn't hold a grudge and continued to serve her diligently.

"No thanks, Ms. Montague. I really dislike 'green,'" Elsa said, covering her bowl with a sarcastic tone, drawing Lara and Jonathan's attention.

"What do you mean?" Giselle asked awkwardly, her hand holding the salad tongs suspended in mid-air.

"Nothing, just a random thought. No one likes being cheated on, right? There are plenty of homewreckers, but it's not just their fault. The man is just as responsible," Elsa said in one breath, finishing her meal at lightning speed. She stood up, stretched, and gave the three a mocking look. "I'm full. Enjoy your meal. I have to work late next week, so I won't be coming back for dinner."

"Elsa, wait for me in the study. We need to talk," Lara said, sensing something was wrong.

"If you can't be fair, there's no need to talk," Elsa replied, unable to contain her anger.

"Elsa, take it out on me if you want, but don't speak to Grandma like that!" Giselle immediately defended Lara.
