Chapter 21 Getting Hit

"Stop talking." Luke reached out and tucked Elsa's unneedled arm under the blanket.
"It's okay, you can leave."
"If you really like her, I have to check if Elsa has any other problems and if she can have children for you." Before finishing the sentence, Karida was already pushed out the door along with the medical kit.
"I still need to remove the needle." Karida awkwardly knocked on the door.
"I can do it myself." Luke's voice came from afar.
"You are really heartless." Karida looked at the closed door, muttering quietly as he walked away. Just as he got into the car, he immediately called Terry.
"I suspect Luke has fallen for a woman!" He shouted into the phone as if he had discovered a new continent.
Luke stayed by Elsa's side all day and night, though her sleep quality was poor. Only in the evening, Luke half-carried her to feed her a bowl of porridge and two pills.
"Thank you." Elsa was sick and lazy, hardly speaking all day.
Luke didn't respond to her.
In his heart, however, he thought that this woman was quieter when she was sick, and much cuter than her usual image.
That night, the two embraced each other again.
When Luke woke up the next day, Elsa hadn't gotten up yet. He had taken a day off yesterday, so now he had to go to the company. He left a note for her: [I'm going to work, Karida will come at nine to give you an IV.]
He wanted to add: [If you’re not busy in the afternoon, let's go get the marriage certificate.] But then he felt it might seem too forward, so he didn't write it. Realizing he didn't have Elsa’s contact information, he forcibly scanned her face with her phone, saved a phone number, and hurried out the door.
When Elsa woke up, she saw the note on the bedside table.
She picked up her phone, it was a message from Chloe on Facebook Messenger from a day ago.
"How are you, Elsa? Where are you?"
"I'm with Luke and I am fine." She replied.
After all, Luke had been decent to her and he didn't owe her anything.
Elsa thought lightly.
If he didn't want to marry her, she should get on with her life, because clinging to him wasn't the solution.
Elsa's fever had subsided, and she was much more clear-headed. Thinking of Luke's care for her, she suddenly felt guilty.
All because of the Miller family! What had Luke done wrong again? She shouldn't have treated him like this.
As she was about to leave, she heard the sound of the password lock at the villa door.
Thinking it was Karida arriving early, she went to the door to greet him. To her surprise, it was Karen and a middle-aged woman.
All three of them saw each other, and Elsa immediately understood the situation.
The middle-aged woman had to be Luke's mother, Debbie Harrison. They had come to persuade Luke, but they had run into Elsa who was the instigator of the conflict.
Karen burst into tears the moment she saw Elsa, choking up and hard to speak.
Debbie heard Karen say that Luke wanted to call off the wedding because of a woman, so she specially brought Karen over in the morning to talk to Luke. To their surprise, they saw Elsa in Luke's clothes.
All of this confirmed what Karen had said, that this woman seduced Luke and ruined his engagement!
"It's her, she seduced Luke. Luke was enchanted by her in a short time," Karen cried loudly.
Elsa shrugged, not wanting to defend herself. Indeed, she did seduce Luke, but whether Luke liked her or not was unknown.
Debbie raised her hand and slapped Elsa.
"You wretch, do you know what kind of family the Taylors are? It’s not a family that a wine-selling woman like you can easily enter." Her eyes and expression were very serious, she just wanted to intimidate her.
