Chapter 423 Wearing a Mask During Sex

Was she already so drunk she couldn't think straight, or was she deliberately mocking him? Jonathan frowned as he looked at Chloe.

"Did I give it to you already? I'm so drunk, I don't remember." Seeing Jonathan remain silent, Chloe mumbled and fumbled around in her leather jacket pocket, pulling out a wad of cash and stuffing it into Jonathan's hand.

"Is this enough? If not, I'll transfer more to you tomorrow."

Jonathan held the cash, feeling both amused and exasperated. Was he being bought?

The other guys were stunned. They didn't know Jonathan, but they had seen their share of luxury. The emerald watch on Jonathan's wrist was worth a lifetime of frugality for an average person in this city. There was no way he was a new male companion.

Most likely, this was the man coming to confront Chloe.

The guy who had initially thought he could spend the night with Chloe now stood awkwardly to the side, intimidated by Jonathan's presence.

But Chloe was clearly drunk and didn't recognize anyone.

"Who am I? Chloe, look at me. Say, who am I?" He held Chloe's face, making her look at him. Her dazed eyes made his heart skip a beat.

A woman who was usually so proper and well-behaved, inadvertently showing her wild side, was incredibly captivating.

Chloe's face was flushed from the alcohol, her eyes red as if she had just cried. Her gaze was shimmering, and she smiled charmingly.

She couldn't stand steadily, letting Jonathan support her.

"I don't know." Chloe patted Jonathan's face. "But you look a lot like my ex-lover."

Drunk, her words were blunt and straightforward.

What did she call him?

"Like who?" Jonathan's frown deepened.

Ex-lover? They had only been apart for a few days. At least when others asked about her, he always referred to her as his girlfriend!

"Nobody important." Chloe waved her hand, slurring her words.

Nobody important? Jonathan's temples throbbed, his blood pressure rising.

Then Chloe asked him, "Do you sell yourself? How much?"

He wanted to pin her down on the bed and give her a good scolding, but he held back his temper and said, "Sure, name your price."

"Good enough." Chloe held his face again, "Seriously," examining him. "The more I look, the more you resemble him. When we have sex later, wear a mask, so I don't get reminded of sad things."

Jonathan was furious. His face, which had always been his pride, was being rejected by a woman for the first time!

"Fine, I'll make sure you're satisfied." He gritted his teeth.

When Chloe woke up in an unfamiliar bed, it was already the next afternoon.

Her head was pounding as she looked at the warm coffee-colored walls around her, taking a long time to gather her thoughts.

Yesterday, she had gone to the club. Then, she seemed to have brought a male companion to a hotel room. After that, her memory was hazy, and she couldn't recall what had happened.

This wasn't her home. Where was she?

Bringing a stranger home while that drunk was incredibly dangerous! Remembering the events before she got drunk, Chloe felt a bit scared. She reached out to touch her sides, relieved that she hadn't been harmed.

But where was she?

Chloe fought through the discomfort of her hangover and got up to investigate.

She heard the sound of a door opening and closing from the direction of the bathroom. A tall figure loomed over her. "You're awake?"

It was Jonathan! How was he here?
