Chapter 67 Sugar-coated Bullets

The next morning, Luke had their outfits prepared for him and Elsa.

Luke wore a classic Italian custom-made silver-gray suit, with a sea-blue tie and handmade leather shoes that showcased his impeccable taste.

Elsa wore a sea-blue strapless dress and black high heels, matching Luke's color scheme.

Elsa had fair and clear skin, with a touch of freshness and elegance against the backdrop of the sea blue.

"Put this on," Luke said as he handed a box to Elsa.

Elsa opened it in confusion and then her eyes widened.

It was the pink diamond bracelet that had just been auctioned at Christie's!

Due to her profession, Elsa was very knowledgeable about jewelry prices and quality. Even though she hadn't followed that auction, she could still guess the closing price of this bracelet made of ten 10-carat pink diamonds.

"This is too valuable, so I can't accept it."

Elsa considered herself a calm and composed person, rarely showing embarrassment in front of others, but she was still so shocked that she stuttered.

'This bracelet is worth at least ten million dollars, and Luke is giving it to me so casually,' Elsa thought.

Luke didn't say a word. Instead, he took Elsa's hand and put it on her himself.

Her white wrist paired with the softly glowing pink diamonds was so beautiful that it was hard for Luke to look away.

Luke stared at it for a long time, feeling his heart skip a beat.

On the way to the Taylor family estate, Elsa looked at her wrist and commented, "No wonder there are plots in the movie where people betray organizations for a gemstone ring. The sugar coating is just too sweet."

Luke looked straight ahead, glancing at Elsa out of the corner of his eye, taking pride in his wise decision in his heart.

"As long as you behave well, you can have everything." Luke's mood was elated, but he kept a straight face.

"You know I can't be a parasite." Elsa lowered her eyes. Luke was so good to her that she felt guilty.

"Elsa Miller, did I ever ask you to be a parasite? You just need to..."

'Just don't hurt yourself,' Luke thought.

Luke didn't say the last part out loud.

When Luke and Elsa arrived at the Taylor family estate's banquet hall, many guests had already arrived. Luke held Elsa's hand and walked through the crowd to Debbie.

"Is this Mrs. Taylor of the Taylor family?"

"I haven't heard that Mr. Taylor is married, so she must be his girlfriend."

"She's so beautiful!"

"Why does she look so familiar?"

The guests' whispers reached Elsa's ears, and she turned to see Luke's reaction.

Luke looked as usual, even with a slight smile on his lips.

"Mother, happy birthday." When they reached Debbie, Luke handed over his gift and hugged her.

"Mrs. Taylor, happy birthday," Elsa said. But Debbie just glanced at her and turned away.

Elsa didn't mind, because she had delivered her wishes. She then became invisible.

"Aunt, happy birthday," A gentle female voice came. It was Margaret. She wore a white dress and walked over gracefully.

"Margaret, you're here. Come and sit." Debbie, who had just looked disdainful, immediately smiled when she saw Margaret. She took Margaret's hand and sat down, examining her wrist.

Elsa then noticed that Margaret was wearing the bracelet Luke had given her.

"This leopard print diamond bracelet is so beautiful. It seems that Luke has great taste. Since you're back, you should be with Luke."

"Mother!" Luke interrupted Debbie impatiently.

"Why can't I say it? Margaret is a socialite and she's the best match for you!" Debbie retorted.

Margaret looked at Elsa with a smug glance, but then she suddenly froze, her face showing jealousy clearly.
