Chapter 281 Joining LEO Gems

The next day, Elsa received a call from the interviewer at LEO Gems.

"Ms. Miller, after a comprehensive comparison, we found that you meet our employment standards exceptionally well. Please come in tomorrow morning to complete the onboarding procedures."

"Sorry, but I don't really agree with your company's corporate culture. Please find someone else more suitable," Elsa said.

Given Leo's temper, just the thought of having him as her boss made her scalp tingle.

The interviewer hung up, somewhat regretfully.

Not long after, he called again, "Is there any room for negotiation, Ms. Miller? We can double the salary."

Their initial offer was $20,000, and doubling it to $40,000 was quite tempting.

Elsa thought for a moment. Leo suddenly relenting and wanting her wasn't because she was irreplaceable. There were plenty of people in Maplewood City who could teach English and be an assistant. The only reason he would offer double the salary was because of the one thing he cared most about–she had been with Luke.

She made a quick decision. "One hundred thousand dollars a month."

The interviewer doubted his ears. "Are you saying your salary requirement is one hundred thousand dollars per month?"

Even the top designers at LEO Gems didn't make that much.

The interviewer hung up and called back shortly after. "Ms. Miller, Mr. Adams agreed. Please prepare yourself."

At one hundred thousand dollars a month, it totaled 1.2 million dollars a year.. Elsa thought it was worth being Leo's assisant.

The next morning, before she even got out of bed, Elsa received a call from an unknown number.

"Hello," she answered, rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Elsa, remember to pick me up for work." It was Leo.

Elsa frowned.

"I don't have a car," she replied honestly.

"Come over and drive mine," Leo said briefly before hanging up. He had even added her number and sent his location.

Elsa was in a daze; wasn't she not even officially employed yet?

Following Leo's location to his place, Elsa rang the doorbell.

"Come in and sit," Leo had just finished showering, his long hair still dripping, and his white bathrobe loosely tied at the waist as he opened the door for Elsa.

Leo casually pointed to the sofa and went into the walk-in closet.

Not long after, Elsa heard him call out, "Come in and help me."

She followed the voice and found Leo with his back to her, and he was trying to put on a necklace.

"Help me fasten it," he said.

Did he consider an assistant as a maid?

Thinking of the one hundred thousand dollar salary, she still walked over and stood on tiptoe to fasten it for him. Her movements were a bit clumsy.

Leo turned his head, the ends of his hair brushing past Elsa's nose, making her neck shrink from the tickle.

"Thank you." Leo's face showed no emotion, but his eyes had a hint of amusement. "You're so clumsy, no wonder Luke didn't want you."

"This isn't within my job scope," Elsa said calmly, not flustered by the teasing. "And Luke doesn't wear necklaces."

Luke didn't wear necklace except for the one necklace she designed. Thinking of Luke made Elsa slightly lost in thought.

"If you don't help with the personal chores, wouldn't I be at a loss with your high salary?" Leo said discontentedly.
