Chapter 144 You Bastard

Luke, fueled by anger, bypassed foreplay and aggressively engaged with Elsa.To Luke, Elsa's weak resistance was like a kitten trying to scratch him. Annoyed, he tied her hands above her head with his tie.

Elsa's words were meant to get under his skin, and Luke knew it.

But his possessiveness was so intense it even freaked him out. Just thinking about Elsa's "lover" Jonathan and Jonny catering to her every need drove him nuts.

Elsa wasn't one to be easily controlled. When the pain got too much, she bit down hard on Luke's neck.

She bit with all her strength, causing sharp pain in Luke's neck. But he only paused for a moment and didn't stop.

The taste of blood filled Elsa's mouth before she finally let go.

"Luke, you bastard," Elsa cursed hoarsely.

"Just for today, I'm gonna be a jerk," Luke said, lowering his head to kiss her.

The next morning, as expected, Luke and Elsa were at odds again at breakfast.

Lisa used to join them for meals but had long since gotten used to their dynamic. She'd leave after setting down breakfast to get on with her tasks.

Elsa, with swollen eyes, bruised wrists, and a lip bitten by Luke, angrily drank her coffee, sitting 20 inches away from him.

Luke, with a vicious bite mark on his neck and scratched arms, was in a good mood, smiling at Elsa.

His stare was predatory, like a hunter sizing up its prey. Elsa caught on and shot him a fierce glare.

Luke found her expression amusing and leaned in to hold her, kissing her gently.

Elsa was unhappy and kept dodging until Luke firmly held her down.

He took out an ointment he had prepared and applied it to her lips and wrists.

The cooling sensation eased the discomfort, and Elsa's expression softened.

"Your neck," Esla murmured.

"It's fine." It did hurt a bit when he washed up, but Luke's first thought was that Elsa's wrists must hurt too, so he brought the ointment downstairs.

"Serves you right, for being so..." Elsa's words got stuck in her throat, and her face turned red.

"I'm not eating; I'll be late for work." Elsa climbed off Luke's lap, looking for an excuse to leave.

"You took the day off today," Luke said, holding her waist to keep her from moving.

"Why take another day off?" Elsa was worried people would think she was getting special treatment, especially since she had just become a full-time employee. She didn't want anyone to say she was abusing her position as Luke's wife.

"Take the day to rest, and tonight I'll take you to the Ferris wheel," said Luke.

The most famous Ferris wheel in Maplewood City was built during Elsa's initial exchange program visit. Known as the "Eye of the City," it spanned 360 feet in diameter and took nearly half an hour to complete one rotation. Offering a panoramic view of the entire city from its apex, Elsa had nurtured a longstanding wish to take a ride on it.

But Luke and the Ferris wheel seemed a bit mismatched.

"No need to take a day off. We can go after work." Elsa said as she changed her clothes and went to the office with Luke.

They tacitly avoided mentioning the incident again. Luke didn't want to cause Elsa further harm, and Elsa, thinking of how Luke defended Margaret, just felt overwhelmed.

Life had to go on, so they turned a blind eye to it.

Right after work, Luke was waiting at the design department's entrance.

"Did you go the whole day like this?" Elsa asked, shocked, looking at the bite mark on Luke's neck. She thought he would have taken care of it at the office.

"Yes," Luke said nonchalantly, making Elsa's face instantly turn red.

Now, the whole company would think Elsa was the one who lacked restraint. Fortunately, with Luke's status, no one dared to laugh at him, though there would undoubtedly be gossip behind his back.

To avoid being disturbed on the Ferris wheel, Luke bought eight tickets to reserve an entire cabin.

"Why spend the extra money?" Elsa muttered softly.

Luke just raised an eyebrow and didn't respond.

This was their second date. Elsa curiously looked out the window, thinking that the city she had lived in for 20 years suddenly seemed both familiar and strange from this vantage point.

Reaching the highest point, Elsa, lost in thought as she gazed at the buildings below, was suddenly embraced from behind by Luke, who whispered in her ear, "Which building do you like the most?""The one with the red roof looks nice," Elsa said casually.

That was the new office building by Virtual Dream Developers, currently up for lease.

"Okay," Luke said, kissing Elsa's ear.

"What do you mean?" Elsa asked, confused.
