Chapter 345 Departure

Elsa could tell that Luke was very uncomfortable.

His face was pale, and large drops of cold sweat covered his forehead. But to Elsa, he was an absolute force of suppression, and she couldn't struggle at all.

"I'll tell you right now what our relationship is." Luke reached out to pull Elsa's collar. His eyes were bloodshot, like a wounded beast.

Elsa looked at his pale face and bloodshot eyes, feeling both heartache and grievance.

"Isn't it just this body you want? I'll do it myself." She gritted her teeth and unbuttoned her hospital gown one by one.

"Luke, is this what you mean?" Elsa's chest was wide open, and her gaze at Luke was filled with sadness, with no trace of her usual shyness or tenderness.

"Take it if you want, take as much as you need, and then let me go." She bit her lip until it bled.

Elsa's words were like a bucket of cold water poured onto a hot iron, causing Luke's heart to ache unbearably, and he struggled to breathe.

She just wanted to leave him, even if it meant humiliating herself like this!

Luke suddenly rolled off her. "Get out!"

Elsa cried as she returned to her hospital room.

Even when crying, she was beautiful. She made no sound, but her nose was red, and tears kept rolling down her cheeks.

Leo was shocked to see Elsa, disheveled and in tears.

She was someone who hadn't shed a single tear even when scandals were flying everywhere, and now she was crying like this. What on earth had happened to her?

"Don't be sad, don't cry." Leo grabbed a handkerchief and clumsily wiped her tears, not knowing how to comfort her.

"Leo, I want to go back to Maplewood City first." Five minutes later, Elsa finally stopped crying and said to Leo.

She didn't want to stay in this heartbreaking place for another moment.

Karida and Terry drove for over an hour to get back to the ranch. After settling Hailey, he remembered to update Luke on what had happened before he woke up.

When he called, Luke's voice was filled with anger and fatigue, "What do you want?"

"Luke, Elsa came by while you were still asleep." He briefly told Luke about the conflict between Hailey and Elsa, and Luke frowned deeply as he listened.

With Elsa's personality, she would repay kindness tenfold and seek revenge to the ends of the earth if harmed.

Such grievances, and Hailey's harsh words, she had just gritted her teeth and endured it?

Luke's anger unexpectedly subsided a bit, and he thought of the sadness in Elsa's eyes earlier, causing his breath to catch.

"She probably didn't want to disturb you. I was surprised too," Karida said. "By the way, Elsa left the porridge she made for you by your bedside. I told Hailey it was bought from outside to avoid any misunderstandings."

Luke's pupils suddenly contracted.

He suddenly understood where her momentary sadness had come from.

As soon as it was daylight, Luke went to Elsa's hospital room again.

The new patient and the nurse doing rounds looked at him in surprise.

"Where is she?" Luke frowned.

"Are you asking about the very beautiful woman from yesterday? She was discharged overnight."

Discharged overnight, she was already avoiding him like the plague?

Elsa's flight was in the morning, and it took just over half an hour to land in Maplewood City.

Chloe came to pick her up and was shocked to see her looking so ill. "Weren't you having a good time? What happened?"

"Something went wrong." Elsa leaned her back against the passenger seat and closed her eyes to rest.

On the way home, Chloe listened to the whole story and sighed deeply.

"I have a feeling that you and Luke are destined to be entangled for life," just like her and Jonathan.

Luke wasn't a completely bad person; his kindness to Elsa was even evident to others. But countless unexpected events kept them from reconciling.

"No," Elsa said firmly.

"I insist on trying to end it cleanly."

Since this relationship was something she had painstakingly sought, she wanted to see if she could challenge fate and end it.

Elsa secluded herself for a few days, not going to the company or contacting the outside world.

She meticulously planned her future life until she received a call from an unknown number.

"Ms. Miller, this is Debbie. Can we meet and talk?"

Debbie was always very imposing, and now Debbie had contacted her personally instead of having the housekeeper report, which surprised Elsa.
