Chapter 232 Did You Know Elsa Is Talking Nonsense to the Media
At the agreed time and place, Margaret showed up all dolled up and looking seductive. She grinned at Terry, "Terry, you finally remembered me."
But Terry remained indifferent. He crossed his arms and shot her a look, "You were the one who sent out Jasmine's press release."
In just one day, he had figured out that one of his employees had some shady financial dealings with Margaret.
"Did he admit it?" Margaret asked, frowning. It was too soon for her to be exposed; all that money she spent seemed wasted.
Terry shook his head, "He claimed it was his own idea."
"Then you shouldn't suspect me," Margaret's heart sank seeing Terry's cold attitude.
Terry's eyes were icy, "You almost caused Elsa to miscarry and tarnished the reputations of both the Taylor and Clark families. Ms. Collins, you're something else. I'm warning you, this is the last time I'll cover for you. If it happens again, I won't hold back, even without Luke's intervention."
"Elsa again! What's so special about Elsa that you all protect her? And Jasmine, chasing Jonny all the way abroad, and you still want to marry her! Aren't you afraid she'll cheat on you?" Margaret suddenly screamed hysterically at Terry.
She had had enough. Even though she only saw Terry as a fling, hearing him talk about getting engaged to Jasmine made her feel envy, like her favorite toy was being taken away.
"This is my business. Remember what I said today. Don't let it happen again!"
Terry had his reasons for getting engaged to Jasmine. He wanted to officially take over the Clark family, and an alliance with the Taylor family was the quickest way to gain their support. He didn't care if there was any love between him and Jasmine. In wealthy families, how many people married for love?
"You just value the Taylor family's power, don't you!" Margaret had thought of this too.
"Do you think everyone is as lucky as Luke, marrying the woman he loves?" Terry shot back.
Luke married the woman he loved.
Terry was going to marry the woman who was beneficial to him.
These two men, who had once treated her with care, were not hers. Margaret squatted on the ground in despair, burning with jealousy.
What right did Jasmine and Elsa have to take everything that rightfully belonged to her?
She wouldn't allow it!
Terry had already left, and Margaret's eyes were filled with venom.
In the end, the matter was resolved with Jasmine agreeing to get engaged to Terry and writing a guarantee to keep a distance from Elsa.
Elsa didn't waste her time in the hospital.
She pretended to be uninterested in everything, just saying she wanted to focus on her pregnancy.
She even arranged for the media to write promotional articles, portraying her as a "trophy wife" eager to marry into a wealthy family and have many children to secure her position.
When she went for a prenatal checkup, the media were waiting at the door, hoping to get firsthand information.
Elsa greeted them openly.
The media asked, "Ms. Miller, are you pregnant?"
Elsa, holding her slightly swollen belly, smiled happily and said, "Yes, I've been pregnant for over a month."
The media then asked, "Have you decided on a name for the baby?"
Elsa replied, "Not yet. I'll leave the naming to Luke."
The media further queried, "Was the baby planned?"
Elsa answered, "Of course! I plan to give Luke at least two sons and two daughters. Luke's excellent genes need to be passed on!"
