Chapter 413 Mr. King, Let's Break Up

Elsa had more to say, but when Luke kissed her, her mind went blank, and she lost the ability to speak.

Luke lowered the partition in the car with a swift motion.

He gently bit Elsa's lip before releasing it, then forcefully pushed his tongue into her mouth, teasing her tongue and teeth with his own.

Elsa felt a tingling sensation all over her scalp from Luke's stimulation, but she earnestly responded to him.

She mimicked his movements, exploring his mouth with her tongue, clumsily playfully chasing his tongue.

"You're so clumsy, babe," Luke chuckled, pulling her to sit face-to-face on his lap.

After a while, Luke shifted his attention, sucking on her earlobe. As she let out a soft moan, he unhooked her bra through her shirt.

Elsa didn't resist. Her cheeks were flushed, and her hands, which were clutching Luke's tie, trembled slightly.

Luke knew she had always been conservative in this regard, and this time was quite a challenge for her.

"Why are you being so good today?" He asked, his breath heavy, whispering in her ear.

That night, Elsa naturally stayed over at Luke's place.

By the time they returned to the villa, it was already past 2 AM. After their passionate encounter, dawn was approaching.

Elsa always got excited at first, but later, when she got tired, she would habitually refuse to cooperate. This time was no different.

Luke, in a surprisingly good mood after being satisfied, held her while they showered, then patted her back to lull her to sleep, thoroughly enjoying himself.

At dawn, Luke woke up first, staring at Elsa's serene and beautiful sleeping face when Max called.

There was a preliminary investigation result regarding the car explosion.

The police had reviewed the hospital parking lot's surveillance footage all night and finally identified a suspect: a short man wearing a baseball cap. The man had precisely located Luke's car and crouched down by the passenger side.

Ten minutes later, the man hurriedly left the parking lot and hailed a cab to make his escape.

Max, always thorough in his work, reported the situation and added, "The police are working hard to track this guy down and will inform us as soon as they have news. Also, I've contacted some people in the underworld to see if this guy is one of their own and to find out who hired him."

Luke responded with a simple "Got it," then instructed, "Increase security for Mrs. Taylor over the next few days."

"The target might not be Mrs. Taylor," Max pointed out.

Luke had considered this too. The Taylor Group had been rising in power over the years, attracting attention more than once. His car was designed to be bulletproof, anticipating the day when enemies might hire someone to take him out.

Moreover, Elsa had gone to the hospital with Jonathan. If the target was her, why not tamper with Jonathan's car?

Despite this, even a one percent chance couldn't be ignored.

"Regardless, protect her well," Luke's tone turned serious. "Tell those people that if anything happens to Mrs. Taylor, they'll face severe consequences."

"Yes, yes," Max agreed hastily, regretting his earlier comment.

He must be crazy to try reasoning with Luke, who was lovestruck.

Chloe returned home and stayed up all night.

How did she fall for Jonathan? Chloe thought it might have started the first time they met, when Jonathan smiled and complimented her, saying, "I've heard the owner of this club is a beauty, but I didn't expect someone so young." That planted a seed of affection in her heart.

Later, he covered her tab and took care of her drink sales for a year, impressing her with his generosity.

In subsequent encounters, Chloe couldn't help but feel that Jonathan's gaze was filled with affection. She found herself increasingly drawn to him, falling deeper each time.

After everything was laid bare, she couldn't accept the lack of a story between them and willingly became his bedmate.

Though she always claimed not to expect anything from him, who doesn't hope that the person they love loves them back?

Thinking of Jonathan's gentle demeanor towards Giselle, Chloe felt a pang in her heart.

Jonathan might not have special feelings for Giselle, but seeing them together made Chloe realize one thing: she was not special to Jonathan.

Essentially, she was no different from Giselle, perhaps even less significant. At least Giselle's health issues genuinely elicited his compassion, while Chloe was utterly defenseless in his presence.

The hours from midnight to dawn seemed to drag on endlessly. By morning, Chloe felt she had come to terms with everything.

[Mr. King, my family wants me to date and marry someone my age. Let's end this.] She messaged Jonathan on WhatsApp, polite and without drama.
