Chapter 178 It Was Dylan
The Miller fam just hit a major snag with the Jones fam's project and wasn't about to mess with the Taylors.
David definitely nabbed Vincent, but teaming up with Sean? That seemed sketchy. Luke had thought about it too.
He had someone grill Sean, but Sean, clueless about any leverage, stubbornly claimed the Millers helped and no one else was involved.
Who else knew about David kidnapping Vincent? It had to be Margaret who told Debbie! But Margaret wouldn't team up with Sean to off Luke; it wouldn't benefit her at all.
Luke hadn't asked Margaret yet, but she showed up first.
"Luke, are you okay?! I was so worried when I heard. I even had a dream you were in danger." She didn't seem to notice the unconscious Elsa on the hospital bed and looked at Luke with teary eyes.
Luke replied coolly, "Margaret, what did you tell my mom?"
"What do you mean? I said nothing." Margaret felt a bit panicked but tried to stay calm. She didn't know what Debbie had told Luke and feared she couldn't keep up the lie.
"How did you know about David kidnapping Vincent right away and then tell my mom?" He remembered Karida's words, "Some women only cry and cause trouble," and felt it was spot on.
Luke pressed on, "Are you close with the Millers?"
"Karen told me!" Margaret decided to go all in. At this point, she could only protect herself.
She said, "Karen said Elsa is really bad, just like her mom, and she even told me how Elsa seduced you. She also said Elsa was monopolizing her brother and wouldn't let him see David. I was already mad at Elsa, so I believed Karen and told Auntie Debbie."
"Luke, I just felt bad thinking you were Elsa's husband and didn't want you to be with her. Who knew Karen almost got you killed! I'm sorry. Luke, it's all my fault. If anything happened to you, I wouldn't want to live either!"
"I shouldn't have been fooled by Karen! I was so stupid!" Margaret tearfully blamed Karen for everything.
She cried so much that Luke rubbed his temples, feeling annoyed.
"I get it. You can go now," Luke said coldly.
"Luke, I'll come see you again tomorrow." Margaret smiled, thinking Luke believed her.
"No need."
"Luke!"
"I'm sticking to my guns, Margaret. Don't come see me again until you have a boyfriend."
With Margaret ruled out, the only suspect left was Dylan.
He had close ties with the Millers and hated Luke. Rumor had it Dylan had surgery due to severe HPV.
Luke had someone check Sean's account, and a few days ago, he did get a $20 million transfer from Dylan.
If Dylan denied it, the $20 million could not necessarily be for buying guns for Sean.
"Mr. Taylor, should we also sue Dylan?" Max had hired a top-notch legal team to handle it.
"No, no rush. there's plenty of time." Luke's tone was calm, but Max sensed a strong menace, making him shiver.
Dylan had practically harassed Elsa and was on the brink of bankruptcy due to Luke. Now, with Dylan nearly causing Elsa's death, it appeared his days were numbered.
