Chapter 374 Injured
Elsa grabbed the tequila bottle from the table and smashed it against the edge of the coffee table.
In an instant, liquor mixed with shards of glass was scattered everywhere. All that was left in Elsa's hand was a jagged bottle neck.
Her eyes were filled with fierce determination as she grabbed Luke by the collar. "She's in a mental hospital, isn't she? Which one?"
"Don't do anything crazy, Elsa!" Luke quickly wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly.
"Let go!" Elsa's voice was icy as she struggled violently.
"Let me handle it. I'll make sure she suffers for the rest of her life. Let me do it," Luke said soothingly, tightening his grip.
"She deserves to die! She's beyond redemption!"
"Yeah, she deserves to die. I believe that. And I deserve to die too. Please, don't hurt yourself." Luke carefully reached for the bottle in Elsa's hand.
Elsa refused to let go.
"Please, give it to me," he said, trying to pry her fingers open.
Elsa kept trying to evade him.
In the struggle, the sharp glass sliced across the back of Luke's hand.
Luke gasped in pain as blood dripped onto the floor, the couch, and Elsa's hand.
Seeing the blood, Elsa's rage-fueled mind began to clear.
She dropped the bottle and frantically searched for the first aid kit.
The wound was deep. Elsa, who was no stranger to injuries, was momentarily stunned seeing the cut on Luke.
She knelt beside him, her hands trembling as she cleaned and bandaged the wound.
"Don't worry, it's nothing," Luke said, his face pale but his voice steady as he tried to comfort Elsa.
Elsa didn't respond. She only relaxed slightly after finishing the bandage.
"You should go see Karida for a tetanus shot, just in case."
"Okay," Luke agreed, giving Elsa a gentle hug. "This whole mess, even though I was kept in the dark, it was my blind trust that led to this tragedy. I'm willing to spend the rest of my life making it up to you, to atone for my mistakes."
Elsa sighed deeply, her eyes misting over.
"Luke, you know I can't hate you."
In this matter, Luke had indeed been wrong. But his kindness to her couldn't be erased by this one mistake. Their relationship was complicated.
Seeing the hatred in Elsa's eyes soften with tears, Luke's heart melted.
"Tell me what you want. From now on, tell me what you need," Luke said, feeling desperate. He would give her anything to make her happy. If she asked for his life, he would jump out the window right now.
He wanted to keep her by his side forever, to love and protect her. But that might not be what she wanted.
"I want Margaret to live every day in misery," Elsa said, her voice filled with resolve. She was the type to seek revenge, and she wouldn't let such a grudge go unpunished.
"Of course," Luke said. He had once spared Margaret out of old feelings, but now, he felt nothing but hatred for her.
"Other than that, I don't want anything else. I want to get my business in order, finish my studies, and secure a future for myself and Vincent," Elsa said, returning to her usual composed self.
Her plans didn't include Luke.
This was something Luke should have known, but it still made his heart sink.
"Alright. I support you," he said.
