Chapter 451 Confrontation Alone

"Grandma, I'm sorry." Elsa's eyes suddenly turned red as she half-squatted, half-knelt by Lara's bedside.

"I spoke without thinking. I was too willful." If her mother were alive, she would surely blame her too for making Lara sick with anger.

It was really inexcusable. Elsa let out a deep sigh. She had let her emotions get the better of her at the time, and now she deeply regretted her willfulness.

Lara turned her face away proudly.

In fact, 10 minutes ago, Jonathan had already sent a WhatsApp message, briefly explaining what had happened.

Lara's anger had mostly subsided, but she still wanted Elsa to apologize to her in person.

Elsa didn't understand Lara that well though. Thinking she didn't want to see her, she stood up awkwardly.

"Grandma, if you don't want to see me, I'll come visit you in a few days."

Hearing this, Lara quickly turned her head back and looked at her with a frown. "Elsa, is this how you normally deal with people? You upset someone, say a few nice words, and if that doesn't work, just forget about it?"

Elsa explained awkwardly, "I thought you didn't really want to see me."

"Enough, enough. The doctor wants me to stay for observation for a day. If nothing's wrong, I'll go home. If you keep this up, I might end up staying here long-term."

Lara waved her hand. "Go back if there's nothing else. I'm being discharged tomorrow anyway."

"Let me stay and take care of you." Only then did Elsa realize that Lara had forgiven her, and she quickly said.

Although she really didn't want to spend time with Giselle, after all, Lara had gotten sick because of her anger, so she should take responsibility.

"Chloe and Jonathan are having a fight, and now you want to stay and take care of me too. Are you not running your clothing factory anymore? I remember you were planning to work on going public before going abroad?" Lara rolled her eyes.

"But I'm the one who made you sick with anger." Elsa lowered her head and mumbled.

"No wonder everyone says you're cold and aloof. You should really look in a mirror—even your apology lacks sincerity. And they say your cold personality comes from me. How did you get it from me? Those idiots are talking nonsense."

Lara rolled her eyes so hard they nearly reached the ceiling, but her tone was as affectionate as always.

Elsa breathed a sigh of relief and quickly rushed over to hug her, burrowing into Lara's arms.

"Grandma, I thought once you got angry, you wouldn't want me anymore. I'm not cold and aloof—I just look like this when I'm nervous. Please don't ever not want me." At this moment, she finally acted like the innocent and carefree young woman in her early twenties that she should be.

If Luke were here, he would definitely know she was forcing it.

But Luke wasn't there, and Lara thought this was how she should be, and was immediately pleased.

"Alright, alright, you're a grown woman and still acting spoiled." Lara patted her head and finally smiled.

Elsa stayed with Lara for a long while, until noon when the maid from home came to help Lara with lunch, and only then did she get up to leave.

"I'll walk you out."

Giselle hadn't said a word since Elsa entered the room, just sitting quietly to the side. But now she stood up too.

Elsa couldn't be bothered to say anything to her, but still forced herself to speak. "No need, thank you."

She lifted her foot to walk out, but Giselle had already followed her out.

"If Ms. Miller keeps resenting the fact that Lara and Mr. King treat me well, that's not a smart move." She followed behind Elsa, speaking for the first time in a tone that wasn't ingratiating but rather cool and detached.

"Oh?" Elsa stopped. "Please enlighten me, Ms. Montague."
