Chapter 307 Are You Upset?

On the way back, Leo was driving.

Elsa leaned her head against the passenger window, her expression tinged with a faint sadness. She hadn't said a word for over half an hour.

Leo remained silent as well, driving her all the way home.

"Are you very upset?" Leo suddenly asked after parking the car.

Elsa didn't expect him to ask that, her eyes flickered for a moment. "I'm fine."

"If you're fine, then don't look like you're dying." His words were always sharp.

"You insisted on coming to protect me. Can't I be a little sad?" Elsa protested softly.

"You lost Luke and got me. What's there to be sad about? I'm not worse than Luke." Leo leaned in close.

Although Elsa was usually slow to pick up on feelings, she wasn't so oblivious that she couldn't see Leo's recent attempts to flirt with her. But Leo had never confessed his feelings before, and telling him not to waste his time would seem presumptuous. Now that Leo had made his intentions clear, she could be straightforward.

"It's not me you're interested in; it's Luke's ex-wife. In other words, even if a pig were sitting in this seat, you'd still flirt."

"Are you that insecure?"

"It has nothing to do with my confidence. I'm just stating the facts." She was sad, but not irrational.

"So you knew and still let me wipe your mouth in front of Luke?"

There weren't many women who caught Leo's eye. To be fair, even if Elsa had no connection to Luke, she was still an attractive woman in his eyes. But Elsa wasn't wrong; he flirted with her because of her status as Luke's ex-wife, someone Luke couldn't let go of.

Elsa didn't respond to that.

"You're using me?" Leo suddenly realized.

"It's not really using. Don't you also want to see Luke fuming with anger?" Elsa pointed out calmly.

When Leo's handkerchief came over, she wanted to dodge, but after a quick thought, she stayed put. Luke's pride was so strong; witnessing her intimate behavior with Leo would surely make him give up on her completely.

Elsa's heart contracted violently, and her eyes unexpectedly welled up with tears.

Seeing her eyes, Leo suddenly gave in.

"Since you want a clean break with Luke, why not give me a chance? We're both single. Why not try dating? What's wrong with that?" Staring into her eyes, Leo himself began to wonder if he was saying this just because she was the woman in Luke's heart or if he had some genuine feelings.

"Why be together if we don't love each other?" Elsa frowned.

"Don't be ridiculous, Elsa. You're not the kind of woman who needs love to be with someone." Leo seemed to hear a joke and actually laughed.

"For a woman like you, love, sex, marriage, even life itself, are just tools to achieve your goals. You keep them handy and use whichever is most effective. Elsa, what more do you want? You can try me; I'm very useful too."

Leo reached out and cupped the back of her head, inching closer to her lips.
