Chapter 115 Feeling Jealous
"We couldn't possibly!" Elsa refused gently.
"Why not? My friend's retreat is quieter, and they have a dedicated nutrition team and rehab doctors. It's way better for Vincent's recovery. This hospital might be nice, but it's still crowded. If you want to avoid that, you need to take my advice."
Elsa paused to think. Jonathan's idea made sense. She couldn't watch Vincent 24/7. Only by placing him in a completely safe environment could she focus on taking down the Miller family without any distractions.
"Alright, let's do it your way. You helped me expose the flaws in the bidding process and the Miller family's collusion with Prosperous Abundance Group. That was a huge help. Ensuring Vincent's health and safety is my way of repaying you," Jonathan said firmly.
"You might not believe it, but I really care about Vincent," he added
"How can I thank you?" Elsa's voice wavered, holding back tears.
"Elsa, from the first day I showed you kindness, have I ever had any hidden motives?" Jonathan sounded annoyed.
Elsa panicked. "Mr. Green, that's not what I meant. I..."
"Alright, get Vincent's things ready. I'll send someone to pick him up tomorrow. Also, do inform the caregiver who's been looking after him to tag along."
"Thank you, Mr. Green." Elsa couldn't hold back her tears. She quickly turned away to wipe them.
"Alright, Elsa, anyone who doesn't know what's happening might think I'm bullying you," Jonathan said, amused. "Go pack up!"
Early the next morning, as soon as Luke got to the office, Karida called.
"Vincent's been moved to a retreat. Did you know?" she asked.
"Which retreat?" Luke replied.
Luke had been thinking about this for days and didn't expect Elsa to act so fast.
"Heart Haven Retreat in Celestial City, arranged by Jonathan Green. Elsa really knows how to get things done. They've only known each other for a few days..."
Before Karida could finish, Luke hung up.
During the morning rush hour, Luke sped to Valley of Hope Hospital, breaking traffic rules in his haste. Just as he was about to call Elsa, he caught sight of her emerging from the hospital with a large shopping bag.
"Get in," Luke said, rolling down the window.
Elsa, feeling down after seeing Vincent off, didn't respond and opened the back door to get in.
"Sit in the front, Elsa. Am I your driver?" Luke snapped.
Elsa gave Luke a strange look and sat in the front seat.
'Is Luke still mad about being kicked out of the hospital? He's so petty,' Elsa thought as she fastened her seatbelt.
With a roar of acceleration, Luke slammed his foot on the gas, and the car shot forward, speeding away.
"Are you crazy?!" Elsa yelled as Luke nearly hit the road barrier.
'Luke's driving at 60 miles per hour on city streets. He's lost it!' Elsa thought.
Luke said nothing as he recklessly drove to a secluded spot.
With a sudden jolt, he slammed on the brakes, stopping by the roadside. Leaning over, he captured Elsa’s lips in a fierce, punishing kiss.
Elsa, restrained by the seatbelt, struggled to move. She fumbled with the buckle, but Luke's grip held her back.
The kiss was rough and aggressive. In a fit of anger, Elsa bit his tongue, and Luke responded by biting her lip in return, drawing tiny beads of blood.
Elsa cried silently, her neck held firmly in Luke's grasp as he kissed her intensely for a long time.
When Luke finally pulled away, both their lips were wet and stringy, their eyes bloodshot from the raw, emotional exchange.
