Chapter 111 Luke Taylor, Spare My Life

Vincent was out cold for two days and only started to wake up on the third. Elsa finally breathed easy when they moved him out of the ICU.

The doctor said Vincent got lucky this time. If it happened again, even a bypass might not save him. Elsa couldn't bear to think about it.

Determined to find out who was responsible, Elsa had someone trace the number that sent Vincent the picture. The IP was overseas. She figured someone sent it to a third party who then forwarded it to Vincent.

Even without digging, Elsa knew the Miller family was probably behind it.

But her main focus was taking care of Vincent and taking down the Millers as soon as possible.

"Chloe, I need you to keep tabs on the Millers for me," Elsa said as she saw Chloe out of the hospital.

"Don't worry. I've got people secretly watching them," Chloe replied, tears welling up as she saw how much Elsa and Vincent had been through.

As for Luke, he hadn't shown up since storming off that day.

At first, Elsa was mad. Margaret and Joe only made things worse, so she took it out on Luke. Later, she realized her anger was pointless. Her mind was consumed with thoughts of Vincent. She assumed Luke was just busy, unaware that he was actually sulking.

While sulking, Luke used his connections to track down the owner of that phone number.

The guy Luke had pinned down overseas was so scared he spilled everything. Someone in the country had paid him $20,000 to send a message to Vincent. Luke's people traced the money to a guy named Jesse White.

When Emily was thrown in front of Luke, bound and helpless, Luke felt a deep sense of degradation. It was as if he was belittling himself—kicked out of the hospital by Elsa, yet still rushing to address her problems.

The dimly lit room was creepy, and Emily, tied up, lay on the ground like a pig awaiting slaughter.

Luke got up from the sofa, his face dark, and walked slowly towards Emily.

"Luke, this is a law-abiding society. What are you gonna do to me?" Emily stammered, trying to sound tough but clearly scared.

Luke glanced at her empty right sleeve and smirked coldly.

His heavy boots suddenly stomped on Emily's face.

Emily screamed in pain and fear.

"Emily, I put you in prison and took your arm. If you have a grudge, take it out on me," Luke said, grinding his foot down harder. "Picking on Elsa and her brother is cowardly."

"Luke, don't you hate Elsa? Why are you defending her?" Emily's face, scratched and bruised, glistened with blood under the dim light.

"Do you think I'd let a woman I hate control me?" Luke kicked her again, making her scream.

"Did you get your info from Karen Miller? They seem a bit outdated," Luke sneered.

"Come here," Luke called out, and five or six tall men in black suits and masks stepped forward.

"Take care of Mr. White and send her to the Millers."

Even in the poor lighting, Emily found Luke's gaze utterly terrifying.

"Luke, please spare me. I won't do it again!" Emily begged, but Luke just walked away, leaving her with a cold shoulder.
