Chapter 312 Leo's Background
Leo's racing suit and helmet were top-notch. When the car flipped, he only dislocated his left arm and got a minor scrape on his neck.
Elsa, still shaken, accompanied him to apply medication. She only felt relieved when the doctor said it was nothing serious.
"I'm dizzy. I need to stay in the hospital for observation," Leo blinked pitifully at Elsa.
"Stop acting spoiled."
Elsa was speechless. In her eyes, the accident could have been avoided if Leo hadn't been reckless. Now, his situation was self-inflicted.
Fortunately, he wasn't seriously hurt. If something had really happened...
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She settled Leo in the hospital room and then ignored him, sitting aside with a stern face, playing on her phone.
Leo lazily leaned on the hospital bed. At first, he tried to get Elsa's attention, but seeing she had no intention of responding, he fell silent.
After more than an hour, Leo suddenly spoke, "You must be curious about the grudge between Luke and me."
Elsa perked up and put her phone aside, "Yes."
Elsa had imagined countless possibilities about their grudge and story, but life was far more exciting than movies.
She thought they might have fallen out over a woman or had a business competition. She even boldly guessed that Leo pursued Luke but failed, leading to enmity.
But it was none of those.
Leo turned out to be Luke's half-brother!
When Arthur and Debbie had been married for about a year, the two families had a severe conflict, almost leading to divorce.
It was during that time that Arthur had an affair with Leo's mother, Jade Adams.
Arthur and Debbie eventually didn't divorce, and Jade became the sacrificial lamb, giving birth to Leo and raising him alone.
The Adams family was also a well-known family. After such an incident, Jade was exiled by the Adams family and had not returned since.
The Taylor family only found out about Leo when Arthur passed away. He was a little over six months younger than Luke and had never met Arthur.
When Rhys was alive, he intended to bring Leo into the Taylor family, but the Adams family was not an ordinary small family. Plus, Leo's uncle, Walter Adams, had no offspring, and the Adams family urgently needed a bloodline heir, so they never agreed.
Later, Rhys passed away, and no one mentioned it again.
No wonder Leo always spoke of Luke with hatred, constantly comparing himself to him.
Elsa carefully examined Leo's face. In her mind, she removed his long hair and earrings, and indeed, he did resemble Luke.
The same facial features, heroic brow bones, proud high nose, and sharp jawline. The only difference was the shape of their eyes. Luke's were more heroic and masculine, while Leo's, probably inherited from Jade, were more delicate.
"Luke has never done anything to hurt me. The grudges or absurdities of the previous generation can't be blamed on him. But he is part of the Taylor family, and that's reason enough for me to hate him."
Leo leaned against the headboard, feeling extremely tense inside. After telling his story, he unexpectedly felt a bit more relaxed.
"I have a similar story."
Elsa thought of her own past and couldn't help but feel emotional, generously sharing her secret with him.
"Before you returned to the country, there was a major smuggling case in Maplewood City. The person involved was my father, David." Recalling it today, she felt no more waves in her heart.
"I know." Leo nodded. He had investigated this as well.
"I don't dare to persuade you to let go of your hatred and move forward, but I hope you understand that living well is the only way to have a future. Whether it's to take revenge on the Taylor family or to make yourself stronger, the premise is not to play with your life. Only by living can you talk about other things."
These were words Luke had once said to her, and now, she could use them to advise Leo.
"Of course." Leo nodded, showing his usual playful demeanor in front of Elsa, "But my injury today wasn't in vain. At least it made you worry."
Elsa rolled her eyes, "Luke is already with Margaret. You should go after Margaret now."
"No, I only like you," Leo refused.
Elsa didn't take it to heart.
They had arrived at the hospital in the afternoon, and soon it was dinner time.
The nurse in the intensive care unit brought Leo his dinner. Leo looked pitifully at Elsa, "Can you feed me? My arm just got reset, and it hurts."
"You injured your left side; it doesn't affect your right hand for eating." Elsa was amused by his excuse.
"Please feed me, I beg you," Leo started acting spoiled again.
Thinking of the story just now, Elsa's heart softened.
But her hand still picked up the bowl.
When Luke entered the room, he saw Elsa feeding a spoonful of chicken soup into Leo's mouth.
