Chapter 90 I Investigated You

The next day, Elsa handed the stained dress and the teenage boy's clothes from yesterday to Lisa for cleaning and went to work with Luke as usual.

Feeling good after being nourished by love, Luke didn't ask about the origin of the clothes, which made Elsa breathe a sigh of relief.

"Goodbye," Elsa said to Luke at the elevator.

"Okay." Luke kissed Elsa on the cheek and let her go.

Since elevator was crowded during the morning rush hour, Elsa really felt there was no need for a goodbye kiss.

However, considering that Luke had specially come to her department yesterday to solidify her position, Elsa thought his behavior was also to make things easier for her at work.

How to put it, Dalton Banks had been very sacred in Elsa's mind before, but after these few days of interaction, she felt that the corporate culture or employee quality was just so-so.

Elsa decided to just focus on doing her own job well, input cutting-edge design concepts on this platform, and improve her skills, which was more important than anything else. As for how these people viewed her or her interpersonal relationships, Elsa didn't care much anymore.

Elsa wasn't the only intern in the design department, and the work content for interns was similar. Although everyone knew Elsa was the chairman's wife after yesterday's incident, she didn't change her attitude. She still went to the work group to get her tasks and worked diligently at her desk.

Margaret walked around the department a few times, but she couldn't find any faults about Elsa, so she had to return to her office reluctantly.

Around noon, Elsa's Facebook pinged.

Jonathan: [Ms. Miller, Eric and I are downstairs at your company. Would you be free to have lunch with us?]

It was Jonathan, whom she met yesterday.

Elsa: [But Eric's clothes are still at home. I can only return them to you another day.]

For some reason, Elsa thought Jonathan was really kind and amicable.

Jonathan looked like he came from a distinguished family, and he wasn't exactly amiable, but rather had a bit of a domineering and sharp aura. However, Elsa couldn't help but felt he was approachable.

Jonathan: [No problem, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet in the future. You can give the clothes to me then. Come down and have lunch with us.]

Jonathan and Elsa arranged to meet at the restaurant on the first floor. After work, Elsa sent a simple message to Luke and went downstairs.

"Over here!" Jonathan waved from afar.

Dressed in casual clothes, Jonathan looked even more youthful than yesterday. If it weren't for Eric's face, which looked very similar to Jonathan's, Elsa would find it hard to believe that Jonathan was the father of a high school boy.

Jonathan and Eric seemed to have just come back from playing golf, as Eric still had a set of golf clubs by his side.

"How did you know I work here?" If someone else had investigated Elsa, she would have been alarmed, but she didn't feel it was inappropriate at the moment.

"The upper-class circle in Maplewood City isn't very big," Jonathan said truthfully. "Besides, you're Luke Taylor's wife, so it wasn't hard to find out."

Elsa had posted her marriage certificate on her social media, so it wasn't surprising.

"Thanks for the effort, but I'm not part of the upper class." Elsa sat down with Jonathan and Eric. Their working lunch was a simple steak and pasta.

Jonathan couldn't help but frown when he heard Elsa order a medium-rare steak.

"Change it to well-done," Jonathan told the waiter, not giving Elsa a chance to object.

Although Jonathan was always polite, he now acted like a stubborn elder.

"I'm not your son, you know. I'm an adult." Elsa frowned.

"Sorry," Jonathan apologized, but there was no remorse in his eyes. "Your health isn't suitable for eating rare steak."

"Can you read fortunes?"

Jonathan's reason didn't make Elsa feel repulsed.

"No, but I investigated you," Jonathan said honestly.

"Why?" Elsa was puzzled. Was it because she stopped Eric from drinking last night?

Jonathan seemed to have an extraordinary status. Was he afraid Elsa was deliberately approaching his son Eric?

"Don't misunderstand, I wasn't deliberately approaching Eric yesterday. He's about the same age as my brother, so I stopped him from drinking..."

As Elsa said this, Eric's eyes were shining brightly as he looked at her, but he didn't speak.

Eric was overly well-behaved in front of Jonathan.
