Chapter 158 Elsa Refuses to Eat
Lisa trudged upstairs, finally getting what Luke was hinting at.
Elsa was cuffed to the bed, lying there awkwardly, staring blankly at the door.
"Mrs. Taylor, what did you do to tick off Mr. Taylor this time?" Lisa sighed, her eyes widening at the sight of bloodstains on Elsa's pants.
"Alright, I'll help you get those pants off and patch you up." She quickly moved to help.
"Did Mr. Taylor hit you?" Lisa couldn't wrap her head around it. She knew how much Luke adored Elsa.
In their marriage, it was clear Luke was the one giving more. He seemed cold but was a softie inside, while Elsa was emotionally distant and calm.
"He didn't," Elsa said softly.
Lisa took off Elsa's shoes, socks, and pants. Grabbing the first aid kit, she started cleaning Elsa's wounds.
Elsa was feeling down and didn't want to talk. She had hit herself pretty hard, and only after taking off her pants did she see a nasty cut below her knee.
"That must hurt like hell." Lisa's hands shook as she applied the medicine.
After bandaging her up, Lisa found some loose sweatpants for Elsa and put ointment on her reddened wrists from the handcuffs.
With the cuffs on, Elsa couldn't take off her top unless she cut it, so she just leaned against the headboard.
"What do you want for lunch? I'll whip it up and feed you," Lisa asked.
Seeing Elsa didn't want to talk, Lisa tried to coax her gently.
"I'm not hungry right now. You go rest, Lisa." In such a situation, Elsa had no appetite.
She refused once, and no matter how much Lisa coaxed her, she just turned her head away and stayed silent.
Lisa, feeling helpless, called Luke for help.
Luke was in a meeting with several executives. When he saw the call, his expression darkened.
"If she doesn't want to eat, let her starve!" Luke snapped.
The executives, already on edge, exchanged glances and stayed quiet.
Max, on the side, couldn't stay calm.
Judging by his boss's expression and the morning's events, he was sure Mr. Taylor had argued with Mrs. Taylor. He had seen the caller ID and knew it was from home.
It must be Mrs. Taylor refusing to eat, and Lisa was reporting it.
From his years with Luke, Max knew if Lisa let Elsa go without eating, Luke's anger would only grow, and they would all suffer.
"Mr. Taylor, I just remembered I lost a USB drive with important documents. Could it be at your house?" Max bravely broke the silence.
"How would I know where your stuff is?" Luke shot him a sharp look.
Max flinched. "Can I go look for it?" he asked cautiously.
"Get out."
"Okay!" Max quickly left the office.
He had brought Elsa back from Light City. If anything happened to her, he couldn't bear the responsibility. How could a billionaire CEO like Luke be so childish in matters of the heart?
On his way to the villa, Max kept thinking. When he saw Elsa, he was even more shocked.
