Chapter 213 How Could He Make Her Cry
Elsa said she found it hard to control her feelings for him.
Wasn't he in the same boat? He was the one who fell for her first; he couldn't leave her either.
If Elsa could say that, she must still have feelings for him, right?
Luke's heart ached with regret.
He shouldn't have let Jasmine test her, but he gave in to a moment of weakness, wanting to see her reaction.
He definitely shouldn't have stormed off with Margaret, causing such a misunderstanding!
The hospital room door opened, and Jonny walked out looking bummed.
Luke and Karida stepped aside to let him pass.
"If you don't treat her right, don't blame me for taking her away," Jonny said loudly and firmly.
Before Luke could respond, Jonny had already hurried off.
When Luke and Karida entered, Elsa was staring blankly at a big bouquet of sunflowers by the bedside.
Only then did Luke realize he had never given Elsa flowers.
When Elsa saw him, her eyes immediately showed a bit of displeasure, and she turned her head away.
"Get checked first, then eat," Luke said stiffly, placing the food box he was carrying on the table.
"Luke went all the way to the Gastronomic Oasis Hotel to get you something you like." The Gastronomic Oasis Hotel was nearly 20 miles from Valley of Hope Hospital, and Elsa had casually mentioned once that the food there was delicious.
While measuring Elsa's blood oxygen and blood pressure, Karida advised, "You can be mad, but you still need to eat."
Elsa let Karida fuss over her, staying silent.
She had just talked so much with Jonny that she felt drained and wanted to sleep again.
"Nothing major, but you've injured your cervical spine and need to rest in bed for one to two weeks. You can choose to stay in the hospital or go home," Karida said.
"I'll stay in the hospital," Elsa said.
"She'll go home!" Luke said.
Elsa and Luke spoke at the same time.
Luke had to compromise. "Then I'll have Lisa come to take care of you."
Sensing the tension, Karida quickly left after finishing the check-up.
Elsa shifted from a half-sitting position to lying down; she was about to sleep again.
"Eat first," Luke had no choice but to carefully lift her up.
"I don't want to eat; I want to sleep." Elsa's back was tense in his arms; she refused to open her eyes.
"What do I have to do for you to eat properly?" Luke pursed his lips.
"It's simple. Just don't show up for a week. I don't want to see you." Seeing Luke immediately reminded Elsa of Margaret's moaning from last night, and it felt like a knife cutting her heart.
Luke asked, with a surprising hint of grievance in his voice, "Do you not want me anymore?"
"I'll see. I haven't decided yet. Take this time to reconsider our marriage. If you have a better option, I won't cling to the position of your wife."
The arms around her tightened.
"Elsa, that's not going to happen," Luke said.
Luke's lips were tightly pressed together, his chest heaving. He couldn't imagine a life without Elsa, and he would never allow it to happen.
"Don't speak too soon, because life is too long." Elsa sighed, a drop of tears rolling down.
She kept her eyes closed, her eyelashes wet, and her nose a bit red.
Luke suddenly panicked.
Margaret had cried in front of him many times, and he only felt annoyed. But to Elsa, he only thought, how could he let her cry?
"Get some rest." Luke's throat tightened as he gently placed her back on the bed.
