Chapter 167 Hole in One

By the afternoon, Elsa finally got what Luke was hinting at.

The Miller Group got totally blindsided by that early housing inspection.

Later, Christian shot Elsa a list of stuff that needed fixing.

Firewall windows, usually closed fire doors, and other areas needing work added up to a crazy amount of square footage. With labor costs for tearing down and installing, Elsa figured that with this deal from the Jones family, David wouldn't just break even—he'd be in the red.

The real kicker? Besides the cash, he was risking Karen's rep for life.

Elsa couldn't hide her excitement when she heard this. She called Chloe right away to spill the tea.

Chloe replied, "Recently, nine people died in Evercrest City 'cause of fire system issues. And you reported this now, they couldn't ignore it."

"Also, I heard Luke helped Light City fix a road for free because of this. His involvement probably made them take it seriously," she added.

Elsa was floored.

Because of her brother's health, she had to pinch pennies just to afford a glass of milk. Even when she studied abroad, the decent clothes she bought were from her part-time gigs.

She never imagined living like this. A $90 million pink diamond bracelet, a $200 million property, and someone fixing a road in another city for her.

This wasn't a life she could even dream of, let alone deserve.

What had she given Luke? How could she deserve such love?

Elsa was choked up and couldn't hear the rest of what Chloe was saying.

She hung up and called Luke. He seemed busy, as it took a while for him to pick up. "What's up?" he answered.

"Honey," Elsa's voice was thick with emotion, "thank you."

Luke smiled. "Don't forget our date tonight."

Elsa blushed.

That afternoon, for the first time, Elsa went to the Taylor Group's parking lot to wait for Luke to get off work.

Luke came out of the executive elevator and saw Elsa waiting, wearing a white tight-fitting polo shirt and light gray sports shorts under her coat.

It was late autumn, and the temperature in T City didn't go above 41 degrees Fahrenheit at night.

"Aren't you cold?" Luke's amazement lasted less than 10 seconds before he frowned.

"No, I'm fine." Elsa rushed over, hugged Luke's waist, and snuggled into his arms. "It's not cold when my husband holds me."

Luke was pleased by her initiative and playfully slapped her butt. "From now on, you're not allowed to play golf with anyone but me," he whispered.

"Okay." Elsa nodded eagerly.

She marveled again at how good Luke was to her.

The golf game started smoothly until Luke made a hole-in-one, and Elsa looked at him with great admiration.

"Do you want to play too?" Luke asked.

Elsa looked stunning in her golf outfit. Her ponytail gave her a youthful look, but her curvy figure created a striking contrast that fascinated Luke.

'Did she look at Joseph with the same admiration when he made a hole-in-one?' Luke couldn't help but feel jealous again.

"No, no, I'm not that good," Elsa said honestly. She wasn't that skilled.

"Come here." Luke reached out and pulled her into his arms.

Their bodies pressed together, and he bent slightly, his warm breath tickling her ear.

Luke held Elsa's hand, practicing the three-par hole several times.

At first, she was very focused, but then she noticed his erection pressing against her butt, making her shy.

"Try it yourself," Luke said, but he didn't let go. Instead, he mischievously pressed closer to her.

She trembled from his touch, almost losing her grip on the club.

Someone on the course noticed their intimate posture and even whistled loudly.

"Stop it, honey," she said, her voice trembling.

"Focus, what are you thinking about?" Luke whispered in her ear.

Elsa's face turned bright red, and she couldn't hold the club steady.

"I can't play anymore," she whispered, pleading.

Luke's eyes darkened, and he stopped teasing her. Holding her hand, he made a powerful swing, scoring a hole-in-one.
