Chapter 105 Knowing Nora's Whereabouts
"Mind your own business when it comes to Nora!" Isaac impatiently remarked.
Mortimer inquired, "If I don't interfere, can you rescue Nora?"
Isaac tightly pressed his lips together, remaining silent.
Mortimer continued, "Edmund has always been kind to Nora; he wouldn't harm her. So, the only possibility left is that Katie has taken Nora, isn't it?"
Isaac still didn't speak, but his gaze darkened slightly.
Mortimer added, "I understand."
Mortimer said no more.
He took a step closer to Isaac.
Without a word, he threw a punch at him as soon as he reached Isaac.
A fight ensued immediately.
Their men also quickly joined in the scuffle.
The fight didn't last long before it was halted.
Isaac, perhaps due to exhaustion from three days of searching for Nora without rest, found himself subdued by Mortimer after just a few moves.
Mortimer bound Isaac's hands behind his back.
Subsequently, he, with Isaac in tow, headed towards the the Porter Family estate.
Before Mortimer could enter the mansion, Edmund and Katie received word and hurriedly emerged from the house.
As they reached the entrance, they came face to face with Mortimer escorting Isaac.
"Edmund, Katie, hello," Mortimer greeted them politely with a gentle smile.
Upon seeing Isaac bound and blood staining his lips, Katie enraged, clutched her chest, almost gasping for breath.
"Katie, calm down. Mortimer and Isaac are just fooling around!" Edmund hurriedly reassured Katie, supporting her.
Taking a deep breath to steady her emotions, Katie asked, "Mortimer, what is the meaning of this?"
She asked, "You are on our the Porter Family territory, binding our heir. Are you here to provoke us?"
Mortimer replied, "You misunderstand. I have always held a friendly attitude towards the the Porter Family, with no intention of provocation."
"Then release Isaac immediately!" Katie demanded.
Mortimer smiled and said, "I can release Isaac, but can you return my Nora to me first?"
Isaac's expression darkened suddenly, exuding a chilling aura.
"Be careful with your words; Nora is not yours!" he warned coldly.
Mortimer remained silent, calmly waiting for Katie to make a decision.
"You are all insane!" Katie frowned in displeasure and scolded, "Losing your minds over Nora!
"Isaac has lost his composure over Nora, hardly resembling a proper heir to the the Porter Family.
"And you, resorting to kidnapping Isaac to threaten me for Nora. Are you trying to ruin the friendship between the the Porter Family and the Radcliffe family?"
Mortimer softly responded, "Your words are harsh. My actions represent only myself, not the rest of the Radcliffe family. It won't affect the friendship between our families unless you wish to distance yourself from the Radcliffe family."
Katie, visibly upset but cautious, struggled to counter Mortimer.
If the two families truly fell out, it would be detrimental to both.
"What if I don't release her?" Katie asked sternly.
Mortimer chuckled, "As an elder, if you are unwilling to release her voluntarily, I cannot force you."
Katie breathed a sigh of relief.
However, the next moment, she was nearly overwhelmed with anger.
Mortimer remarked, "Before you release Nora, I will keep Isaac by my side temporarily."
Katie furiously exclaimed, "Isaac is the heir of our the Porter Family. Taking him away like this, and you claim there's no malice?"
"Though my actions may not be friendly, there is no ill intent in my heart," Mortimer stated.
With that, Mortimer instructed his men, "Let's go home. Don't disturb Edmund and Katie's rest."
Mortimer's men immediately prepared to escort Isaac away.
"Everyone, save Isaac. If Isaac is taken away from our the Porter Family territory, we will lose our dignity," Katie's voice rang out in anger.
Dozens of guards rushed over, surrounding the group Mortimer had brought.
Despite the commotion, Mortimer remained composed. Approaching Isaac, he reached into his pocket.
In the next moment, his hand swiftly emerged, striking towards Isaac. A dagger slipped through his fingers, plunging into Isaac's abdomen.
Blood gushed forth instantly.
"Isaac?!" Edmund and Katie exclaimed in shock.
Edmund and Katie's faces paled, rushing to aid Isaac.
Mortimer cautioned, "I advise you not to act rashly. If I accidentally hit a vital spot on Isaac, it wouldn't be good."
Mortimer's voice remained smooth as silk, yet Edmund and Katie were furious, their eyes bloodshot.
"Mortimer, no matter what, you can't really harm Isaac!" Edmund exclaimed angrily.
Katie, trembling with rage, her face pale, seemed on the verge of fainting at any moment.
After a long pause, she managed to calm down slightly and tremulously said, "Release Isaac immediately, and I will tell you where Nora is."
Mortimer's eyes flickered slightly. He suggested, "You speak first. I need to verify the information you provide before releasing Isaac."
Concerned for Isaac's injury, Katie cut to the chase, claiming, "I had Nora secretly sent aboard a ship bound for Country F, smuggled out of the country.
"The ship departed three days ago and will take at least half a month to reach Country F."
Furrowing his brow, Mortimer inquired, "What is the ship's identification number?"
Unable to recall, Katie had to ask the person responsible for Nora's departure.
Once Mortimer obtained the number, he instructed Alaric to investigate whether Nora had indeed boarded the ship.
"Release Isaac first!" Katie urged anxiously.
Mortimer replied, "No rush. I have a plan. This minor injury won't kill him."
Katie was beyond exasperated.
Even if it wouldn't be fatal, they couldn't keep dragging this out.
But with Mortimer holding a knife, she couldn't act recklessly.
All they could do was wait for Mortimer's men to investigate.
Soon enough, Alaric confirmed the information, verifying Katie's words.
Indeed, Nora had boarded the cruise bound for Country F three days prior.
"Let's go," Mortimer said while he promptly released Isaac and departed with his men.
"Quick, fetch a doctor!" Katie urgently called out.
She then hurried to Isaac's side, and asked, "Isaac, how are you?"
Katie questioned, "Why aren't you injured? Didn't Mortimer stab you just now?"
She looked down at Isaac's unscathed abdomen, utterly bewildered.
Isaac's gaze was dark to the extreme.
The stab Mortimer made was actually him striking his own hand.
Isaac didn't dwell on Mortimer's actions.
As soon as his bindings were loosened, he turned and walked away.
"Isaac, where are you going?" Katie asked.
Isaac didn't reply.
But the answer was evident.
Katie stomped her foot in frustration, and questioned, "What's so special about Nora? Why are you all so obsessed with her?"
