Chapter 301 Sleeping While Holding Her
"Don't worry, I won't do anything to you. Go to sleep." Isaac gently patted her back, showing no intention of letting go.
Nora struggled for a while and then she glared at him angrily.
But Isaac had already closed his eyes, holding her tightly in his arms.
Nora couldn't break free, so she gave up struggling. As she lay there, her chaotic thoughts miraculously calmed down. Sleepiness overcame her.
Unknowingly, she fell asleep in Isaac's arms and she slept very soundly, without a single dream.
When she woke up, it was already 5 PM.
Upon opening her eyes, she found herself still lying in Isaac's arms.
Isaac also opened his eyes.
"Let go of me!" Nora said through gritted teeth, her face darkening.
Isaac didn't forcefully hold her anymore and quickly let go.
Nora immediately pulled away from his embrace, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and changed her clothes. Then she immediately left the room and went downstairs to leave.
At this time, she needed to pick up Soren and bring her home.
And Magnus, who had been transferred to a regular ward, would wake up soon after stopping the medication. Would Magnus feel sad if he woke up and didn't see her by his side?
The more Nora thought about it, the more anxious she became, quickening her pace to the garage, intending to drive one of Isaac's cars for she didn't have her car here. It was Isaac brought her here, so what's wrong with her driving his car away?
Just as Nora arrived at the garage, Isaac also came down to the underground garage. He opened a car door and said to Nora, "Home or the hospital? I'll drive you."
Nora wanted to refuse. She really didn't want to be with Isaac right now. But thinking that if she drove his car away, she would have to return it later, she reluctantly got into his car.
"To the hospital, thank you," she said while fastening her seatbelt.
Isaac gave her a deep look.
He thought, 'Was she intentionally trying to draw a line between them? He wouldn't agree!'
He looked away and stepped on the gas.
The car quickly arrived at the hospital entrance.
Nora walked straight to Magnus's ward after getting out of the car.
There were bodyguards at the door and a nurse inside.
Magnus had already woken up. But because of his injuries, he could only lie down, unable to get up or move around.
Seeing his weak appearance, Nora's nose tingled, and she almost cried again. But she quickly held it back for she couldn't spread negative energy to Magnus, otherwise, it would affect his recovery.
Magnus's eyes were open, his face pale, looking weak and pitiful.
Nora gently touched his cheek, not daring to use too much force, afraid of hurting him. "Magnus, be good. Stay in the hospital for a few days, and you'll recover."
Magnus's eyes were dull, as if indifferent to everything.
In the end, he simply closed his eyes.
Seeing him like this, Nora could only sigh helplessly. "If you don't want to hear me nag, I won't say anything. Rest well, and I'll see you tomorrow. If you miss me, ask the nurse to contact me, and I'll come right away."
Magnus kept his eyes closed, showing no reaction.
Nora could only turn and leave. Before leaving the ward, she specifically instructed the nurse to keep a close watch.
As she walked out of the ward, she saw Isaac also coming to the ward door.
When the ward door opened, he glanced at Magnus inside, his expression unreadable.
Nora immediately closed the door and looked at Isaac with a stern gaze. "Please stay away from Magnus in the future," she warned, suppressing her anger.
She pondered, 'Magnus caused Edmund to get hurt. Isaac had sent Wesley to retaliate against Magnus, resulting in Magnus's severe injuries. They were even now. She had no right to hold Isaac accountable. But pretending nothing had happened was impossible. There was no going back for them.'
Isaac said, "Let's talk."
Nora coldly replied, "I have nothing to say to you, and I don't have time to talk now." She walked past Isaac and headed out of the hospital.
Isaac followed her.
When she got into her car and hadn't locked the door yet, Isaac quickly got into the passenger seat.
Nora's face darkened instantly, and she said angrily, "Isaac, get out. I don't want to see you right now!"
Isaac turned to her, his eyes deep. "Have you forgotten our agreement? You promised to call me 'honey' from now on. You also promised to continue living with me, not to drive me away, and not to leave me."
Nora was too angry to speak.
She thought, 'Even now, he dared to bring up those agreements. But she didn't dare to go back on her word. She feared that the curse she had sworn would come true, and Magnus would get worse.'
She took a deep breath, and finally said nothing, silently driving away.
She thought, 'she could continue to keep her promise. But her attitude towards Isaac would never be the same. Seeing Isaac reminded her of Magnus, who was still lying in bed. And thinking about Magnus's possibly irreparable right hand and foot, she could only resent Isaac. If Magnus couldn't recover, how would he live the rest of his life?'
The more she thought about it, the more heartbroken she felt. She feared she would lose control of her anger and want to take revenge on Isaac for Magnus. Even though she knew that Magnus was at fault first and Isaac's retaliation was understandable.
Emotions always easily swayed her.
"I really didn't send Wesley to retaliate against Magnus," Isaac said slowly, pale and repeating what he had said more than once.
Nora remained silent, her face stern as she drove.
Isaac sighed silently. After a while, he spoke again, "You don't need to be too sad about Magnus's injuries. When Rhys returns, he can perform surgery on Magnus, and he'll get better."
Nora gripped the steering wheel tightly.
Since Magnus got injured, Rhys hadn't shown up.
She had thought it was because Isaac didn't want Rhys to treat Magnus.
So Rhys was out of town?
As if reading Nora's mind, Isaac explained, "Rhys went to an overseas lab to personally transport a device back to treat my grandfather. He'll be back in two or three days."
