Chapter 468: Begging for Forgiveness on Their Knees
After leaving the hospital, Nora didn't go back immediately.
Feeling down, she walked outside with Mortimer silently following behind her, not disturbing her.
Earlier at the hospital, she had an ultrasound and a blood test.
The doctor said that her physical condition was not suitable for nurturing new life.
In the early stages of pregnancy, the fetus didn't require much nutrition, so she didn't have a strong reaction.
But as the fetus grows, her body couldn't supply enough nutrition for the baby, leading to a natural miscarriage, and she became even weaker.
If she insisted on keeping the baby, she would need to have constant injections to protect the pregnancy and stay in bed, unable to move.
But even so, there was no guarantee that the fetus would develop healthily all the way to birth.
There was also a chance it might not develop properly at all.
She had already suffered severe damage during her previous childbirth.
And less than half a year ago, she had gone through a life-and-death ordeal and had been injected with drugs.
Although Rhys had prescribed medication to help her recover, she still hadn't fully recovered.
She clearly knew that this was not the right time for her to have a baby.
But when it came to making a decision, she still felt a lot of pain and torment in her heart.
However, she also knew that she couldn't keep the baby.
She had scheduled the surgery with the doctor for tomorrow.
Today, she wanted to take the baby and see the world properly.
Nora touched her flat belly, softly saying, "Baby, it's not that I don't want you, it's just that we don't have fate."
Nora walked outside for a long time, until it got dark, and she still didn't want to go back.
She didn't pick up Magnus and Soren, instead contacting the nanny to pick them up.
As it got darker, Mortimer stepped forward and gently advised, "Nora, it's getting late. Let me take you to get something to eat and then take you home. You've been walking for so long, your feet must be sore."
Nora gently shook her head, "I don't want to go back. I want to take my baby and see more of the world."
Mortimer continued, "He's just an embryo now, he can't see anything or feel any pain during the surgery. You don't need to get too emotional about it."
Nora glanced at him.
Mortimer apologized, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoken so coldly. I just don't want you to be too sad."
Nora looked away and replied calmly, "I have no appetite. I'll go back first, you should go back too. Thank you for staying with me for so long today."
Mortimer offered, "Let me take you back."
Nora shook her head, "I drove to the hospital myself, you don't need to take me back."
Mortimer still followed behind her. After she got in the car and drove off, he also drove behind her.
He only left after she safely arrived at her community.
Nora silently went upstairs.
When she reached the door, she stood there for five minutes, adjusting her emotions before opening the door and walking in.
She couldn't bring negative emotions to Magnus and Soren.
After entering, she put on a smile and walked inside, laughing lightly, "Magnus, Soren, I'm back. Did you miss me?"
At that moment, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her.
Before she could see his face clearly, he knelt in front of her.
Nora looked down and saw that it was Isaac.
Isaac knelt in front of her, hugging her legs, his face full of apology.
"Honey, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made you get rid of the baby. I'm a jerk, you can hit me or scold me, as long as it makes you feel better, I'll do anything you want!"
Nora was stunned.
What was Isaac doing?
Last night he had been so adamant about her getting rid of the baby.
Now he was kneeling in front of her apologizing.
Could he really have a mental problem?
Nora frowned and gave him a once-over.
Just as she was about to speak, she saw Magnus and Soren peeking curiously from the corner of her eye.
Nora took a deep breath and said to Isaac, "Get up first, don't let Magnus and Soren see this, we'll talk later!"
Isaac obediently stood up, "Okay, whatever you say, honey."
He stood beside Nora with a silly smile, reaching out to hold her hand.
Nora disdainfully shook his hand off.
Isaac reached out again.
Nora glared at him, "What's wrong with you? Can you act normal?"
Isaac replied, "There's nothing wrong with me, I just want to be close to my wife."
Nora forcefully shook off Isaac's hand, "Stop being so slick, get me a glass of water, I'm thirsty!"
She had been walking all day without eating or drinking, and now she was both tired and thirsty.
Maybe because of the pregnancy reaction, she didn't really feel like eating.
"Yes, ma'am, just a moment!" Isaac helped Nora to the sofa and then went to get her a glass of water, feeding it to her himself.
After Nora finished drinking, he stood up, "You must be hungry, right? I've already made dinner, all your favorite dishes. I'll bring them out, just wait a moment."
Nora answered, "I don't have much of an appetite."
Isaac explained, "I reached out to some experts and whipped up a few delicious soups and small bites. Give them a try and see if they help. If you're still not feeling hungry, don't worry about pushing yourself to eat."
Nora gave him a deep look.
She still couldn't understand why his attitude had changed so drastically.
He seemed like a completely different person from last night!
Forget it, she would ask him after the kids were asleep tonight.
Isaac brought the dishes to the table and personally helped Nora to the dining room.
He served her a bowl of special tomato soup, "Try this, it's not an ordinary tomato soup, it's quite refreshing."
As he spoke, he scooped a spoonful, blew on it gently, and brought it to Nora's mouth.
Nora took a sip, her eyes lighting up instantly.
"It's delicious! Not nauseating at all!"
Isaac's smile deepened, "If you like it, have some more."
He continued to feed Nora.
Nora wanted to eat by herself, but he wouldn't let her.
After a few sips of soup, he fed her some other dishes.
The combination of dishes went down smoothly, without making her feel sick or nauseous.
Nora couldn't help but look at Isaac a few more times.
It looked like he had really done his homework to prepare meals that were suitable for pregnancy.
Magnus and Soren watched Isaac eagerly, wanting him to feed them too.
Unfortunately, Isaac seemed oblivious to their signals, ignoring their longing looks.
Soren huffed in frustration and angrily ate more food.
At ten o'clock at night.
After Magnus and Soren went to bed, Nora and Isaac went to the living room.
Isaac helped Nora sit on the sofa.
Then, he knelt down again.
Nora said with a headache, "Stop kneeling, get up and talk!"
