Chapter 419: "Nora, are you looking for trouble?"
Isaac's face instantly darkened, exuding a chilling murderous intent.
"Who let you in here? Get out!" Isaac shouted angrily.
He struggled to control the killing intent in his heart.
Mortimer turned to look at Isaac.
He wasn't surprised by Isaac's appearance.
When Magnus woke up, he would definitely notify Rhys, and Rhys would definitely tell Isaac.
Mortimer smiled slightly, "Isaac, chill out. Magnus just woke up and can't handle any stress. You'll freak him out."
"If you cause Magnus any more trouble, Nora will hate you even more."
Isaac clenched his fists tightly, his murderous intent growing stronger, but his tone lowered significantly, "Get out of here immediately and don't come near Magnus again, or don't blame me for being rude!"
Mortimer spoke innocently, "Nora asked me to accompany Magnus. Magnus is Nora's child, and I should follow her arrangements."
"Isaac, stop it. You've already made one mistake because of your impulsiveness. Don't make the same mistake again."
Isaac's face turned livid with anger, "You really have no shame. Even now, you're still twisting the truth. You know the real story!"
Mortimer shot back, "I do know, and so does everyone else. It's well-known that your impulsiveness caused Magnus's serious injury."
He spoke with a faint smile, his tone calm and peaceful, as if discussing something utterly ordinary.
Isaac's face turned extremely ugly.
He walked towards Mortimer with a cold aura.
"Calm down, Isaac. Don't be impulsive. Starting a fight in the ward will just freak Magnus out. If you accidentally bump into him, it could be very dangerous," Rhys hurriedly grabbed Isaac's arm, trying to hold him back.
But Isaac easily shook him off.
Isaac quickly walked up to Mortimer, grabbed his arm, and forcibly dragged him out.
Rhys breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that Isaac hadn't lost his mind and started a fight in the ward.
He didn't plan to intervene; he wasn't strong enough to stop Isaac.
Rhys said to the assistant doctor, "Go notify Nora and tell her that Isaac and Mortimer are about to fight. Ask her to come and mediate."
Assistant doctor, "Okay, I'll go right away."
The assistant doctor left.
Rhys walked to the bedside, looking at Barrett, who had his eyes open. Rhys was overjoyed.
"Magnus, do you know me?" he asked with a smile.
Barrett struggled to move his head slightly, barely nodding.
"Good job, Magnus," Rhys encouraged with a thumbs up.
He hadn't lost his memory, and his mental state was normal, which was a good sign.
But the unease and fear in Magnus's eyes were evident, which worried Rhys.
A bad mental state would greatly affect recovery.
Especially in later rehabilitation, the mental state could be even more important than medication.
"Don't be afraid. It's all over now, and nothing will happen again. You're very safe," Rhys, not knowing how to comfort people, said a few simple words of reassurance before starting his examination.
First, he conducted a consultation and physical examination.
Although Barrett couldn't speak, he could nod to answer, making the process smooth.
After the consultation, Rhys pushed him into the imaging room to take X-rays and check the recovery of his spine.
During this time, Isaac dragged Mortimer to the hospital entrance and punched him without hesitation.
Mortimer staggered back, his eye instantly swelling, looking very disheveled.
Isaac warned coldly, "Mortimer, don't take my words lightly. If you dare to harm Magnus again, I swear I'll make you pay with your life!"
If Mortimer dared to harm Magnus again, Isaac would make him pay, regardless of their long-standing family ties.
Even if it meant paying with his own life for murder, he wouldn't hesitate!
"You're the one who hurt Magnus. How can you so easily shift the blame?" Mortimer sighed, "Isaac, stop twisting the truth."
"It's an undeniable fact that you kicked Magnus and seriously injured him. Many people saw it. Even if you slander me, no one will believe you. Everyone saw what happened; you can't shirk responsibility with a few words."
Isaac's face was extremely dark, his anger burning to the extreme.
Without a word, he threw another punch.
Mortimer's setup had Ivan Wood, and even those present at the time saw Isaac hurting Magnus.
Isaac had no way to defend himself.
But the real truth was known only to the two of them.
No one believed him, but that didn't mean he would let Mortimer off!
"Isaac, what are you doing now?" Nora's angry voice suddenly came.
The next second, she rushed in front of Mortimer, using her body to separate them. She glared angrily at Isaac.
Isaac's hand stopped just a finger's width from Nora.
Isaac clenched his fist with lingering fear, trembling with anger, "Nora, are you looking to die? How dare you rush forward at a time like this? If I hadn't reacted quickly, this punch could have given you a concussion!"
He couldn't help but lose his temper at Nora.
Nora said, "Do you know how hard you hit? Why do you always target Mortimer?"
Isaac gritted his teeth, "I warned him not to go near Magnus, but he secretly approached Magnus behind my back. He asked for this!"
Nora uttered sternly, "I asked him to spend more time with Magnus."
Isaac's eyes were bloodshot as he looked at Nora, his anger surging.
Nora continued, "Thanks to Mortimer, Magnus woke up so soon. The more time he spends with Magnus, the better and faster he'll recover. If you have any conscience left, stop making things difficult for Mortimer."
"And please stay away from Magnus. Don't go near him again. I've warned you."
Her eyes were very distant and wary.
She was worried that Isaac approaching Magnus would bring him more harm.
Isaac squinted, "You're saying it's thanks to Mortimer that Magnus woke up?"
Nora added, "The main credit goes to Rhys for his proper treatment, but Mortimer's encouragement also played a part in keeping Magnus in good spirits, helping him wake up quickly."
Isaac's face looked terrible, too angry to speak.
Nora continued, "I also asked him to stay in the ward with Magnus."
"Thanks to you, Magnus is now even afraid of me. Whenever I get close, he freaks out. Only Mortimer can stay with him."
"Magnus now relies on and trusts Mortimer the most. Having him by Magnus's side is for Magnus's better recovery. Stop being unreasonable!"
