Chapter 393: Pulled the Child's Oxygen Tube
Nora's heart suddenly tightened.
Sure enough, something happened to Edmund!
Isaac was so anxious, it couldn't be anything minor with Edmund.
He didn't want her to worry, so he deliberately lied it wasn't serious, right?
Although Edmund and Isaac deceived her about Soren being kidnapped.
But she knew Edmund was just trying to keep her from worrying, so he chose to hide it from her.
And besides, Soren's kidnapping had nothing to do with Edmund.
That small matter couldn't affect her feelings for Edmund.
Now thinking that Edmund might have health issues, she was very worried.
"I'll go back with you to see Grandpa," Nora insisted.
Isaac refused bluntly, "No, you need to stay here with Magnus and Soren. If they wake up and see no family around, it'll freak them out."
Nora's body froze, and she suddenly stopped moving.
She was worried about Edmund, but she couldn't leave Magnus and Soren behind.
Isaac continued, "I'll take Rhys back. If anything comes up, I'll contact you."
Nora pressed her lips tightly, somewhat distrustful of Isaac.
She feared Isaac would deliberately hide the truth about Edmund's condition.
Isaac pretended to be relaxed, "If something really happened to Grandpa, he would definitely want to see you one last time before he goes. I wouldn't keep that from you on purpose and let him have regrets about not seeing you."
Nora replied unhappily, "Don't say stuff like that."
Rhys quickly changed clothes and ran over, immediately getting in the car with Isaac and leaving.
As the car drove out of the estate, Rhys asked, "What happened to Magnus over at Viridonia?"
Isaac's expression turned serious, "Sylvie said Magnus was running around and touched the electric fence, causing him to pass out and go into shock. He hasn't woken up yet."
Rhys frowned deeply.
"Getting shocked into a coma is serious business. Electric shocks can damage internal organs. It might not be visible on the outside, but the internal damage could be severe."
"Drive faster! We need to get there ASAP. Every second counts!"
Isaac replied, "I've already arranged for a helicopter."
Rhys had left contact information with the doctors over at the Hansen family. He started contacting them to understand the situation and guide them on how to perform the rescue.
Even if their abilities were limited, following his guidance would still help.
They transferred to the helicopter, which flew at maximum speed, reaching the Hansen Mansion in less than half an hour.
Rhys didn't even have time to rest. As soon as he got off the helicopter, he rushed to the hospital.
The doctors there had already prepared. As soon as Rhys arrived, they took less than thirty seconds to help him change into surgical clothes and then sent him into the operating room.
The rescue took another six hours.
When Rhys came out, his legs were trembling.
"I can't take it anymore. The surgeries I've been doing lately are killing my legs. Standing for hours, sometimes even over ten hours straight, my legs are going to give out sooner or later," Rhys voiced tearfully.
Just performing surgeries on the three kids recently had almost killed him.
Staying up all night was one thing, but he had to stand the whole time, highly focused, which was not only exhausting for his legs but also life-threatening.
Lately, he even felt his heart rhythm was off.
Isaac ignored his complaints and asked seriously, "How is he?"
Rhys replied, "His life is saved, but the previous surgery was somewhat affected. His internal organs are damaged to some extent. With some rest, he can recover, but we can't be sure if the shock affected his brain."
Isaac's eyes narrowed, and a cold tension radiating from him.
Rhys patted his shoulder, "Don't worry yet. Wait until he wakes up to see the situation. There's a possibility of brain damage, but it's not certain."
Isaac's mood did not lighten.
Isaac looked at Sylvie with a serious face and asked coldly, "How did he get shocked by the electric fence? What did you do to him?"
Sylvie's face darkened, "What do you mean by that? Are you accusing me of deliberately harming him?"
"He's my bargaining chip now. I want him safe more than you do. There's no way I'd let anyone harm him?"
If the child was ruined, Isaac wouldn't make a deal with her. How could she harm the child?
But Magnus's injury was indeed not an accident; it was deliberate.
However, she wouldn't tell Isaac the truth.
Because the one who did it was her daughter, Liora.
Liora was unhappy that Amara moved in with Isaac while she had no chance to be with Isaac, so she was very upset.
Just last night, Liora had argued with her about this.
Liora demanded that she bring Amara back and let her move in with Isaac instead.
Sylvie disagreed.
She even scolded Liora.
Liora ran out of the house and went drinking.
When she came back drunk, she went to find Barrett and vented her anger on him.
According to the servants, Liora said that if she couldn't have Isaac, then no one else should.
Liora wanted to kill Barrett.
As long as Barrett was dead, Isaac wouldn't marry into the Hansen family, and neither Liora nor Amara would get Isaac.
Sylvie was so angry when she heard this that she almost wanted to kill Liora.
Isaac marrying into the Hansen family was crucial to the family's future.
Liora, that fool, was jealous over such a trivial matter and almost ruined her carefully laid plans.
If it were someone like Liora, who couldn't see the bigger picture, she would have kicked them out of the Hansen family!
Fortunately, the servants notified Sylvie in time, and she arrived before Barrett died.
Isaac narrowed his eyes dangerously and spoke coldly, "The Hansen family better not have done this on purpose."
"Although I don't care much about this child, he is still my child. If you harm him, you're stepping on my toes, and I won't let it go."
Sylvie felt a chill run through her, and the powerful pressure made it hard for her to breathe.
Isaac's presence was truly terrifying.
But only such a strong and powerful Isaac could change the Hansen family's future.
Sylvie uttered seriously, "This was truly an accident. I promise it won't happen again. I'll assign more people to keep him safe carefully."
"As long as you keep our agreement, I promise to treat him like family."
"No, I'll treat him even better than family!"
Isaac's face remained serious, and he didn't speak.
After a moment, Sylvie said, "Amara called and said that since she moved into your house, you haven't been home. She couldn't find you at your company either. She said she hasn't seen you in over two weeks."
"Can you explain what's going on?"
"I thought our agreement was that you can't deliberately avoid my daughter, right?"
"You should actively interact with her and build a relationship!"
"Isaac, if you keep being so perfunctory, I don't have to insist on you marrying Amara."
"Just say the word, and I'll bring Amara back and immediately have the child's oxygen tube removed!"
