Chapter 501: Is the baby just staying in her belly temporarily?

"What? Soren is at the villa?" Isaac stood up abruptly from his chair in the Porter Group office, looking tense as he answered Mark's call.

If Soren discovered Magnus and told Nora, Nora would find out they had another child and that Magnus had health issues.

She was already exhausted knowing one child was sick.

If she found out she had another child who might have permanent disabilities, she would be even more devastated.

"Yes, Mr. Porter. Ms. Soren Foster was brought over by the traffic police," Mark replied truthfully.

Isaac asked urgently, "Did she meet Magnus?"

Mark replied, "Ms. Soren Foster hasn't met Mr. Magnus Porter yet, but she has met Amara. They had an argument, and Ms. Soren Foster cried a lot."

Isaac's face darkened instantly, and he asked coldly, "What did Amara say to Soren?"

Mark said, "Amara said she would marry you, Mr. Porter, and asked Ms. Soren Foster to accept her as her mother."

Isaac's aura grew colder. "Make sure Soren is taken care of. If Amara dares to provoke Soren again, put her in lockdown."

Mark said, "I've already taken Ms. Soren Foster to the garden to keep them apart."

Isaac breathed a sigh of relief and asked again, "Did Soren see Magnus?"

Mark replied, "No, Ms. Soren Foster ran into Amara on the second floor and argued with her. Mr. Magnus Porter is in a room on the third floor, so they didn't meet."

Isaac said, "Keep an eye on Soren. I'm heading back now."

As soon as Isaac hung up the phone, Wesley knocked and entered, quickly reporting, "Mr. Porter, the meeting is about to start, and the partners from Nemoris are already online, waiting for you to start the meeting."

Isaac said calmly, "Cancel the meeting. Reschedule it when I have time."

"The documents on my desk, process the ones I've signed, and send back the ones I haven't approved for revisions. I'll handle the rest tomorrow."

"I have to go back for something. If there's an emergency, call me."

Wesley looked troubled. "But the Nemoris partners..."

Before he could finish, Isaac was already gone, leaving only a gust of wind behind.

Wesley sighed helplessly. "We worked so hard to secure the partnership with Nemoris, and now Mr. Porter is missing the final meeting. If we don't nail down the details and get the contract signed, what if they back out?"

Wesley shook his head.

Oh well, if the deal fell through, the biggest loss would be for the Porter Group, not him. He didn't need to worry more than Isaac.

Isaac returned home as quickly as possible and saw Soren on the swing in the garden.

He had built this swing for Nora.

Soren sat on it, her head down, staring blankly at her little feet, looking pitiful.

Isaac quickly walked over, picked her up, kissed her chubby cheek, and asked with a smile, "Soren, what are you thinking about? Why do you look so unhappy?"

Soren snapped out of it, stared at him for a few seconds, and then her eyes welled up with tears.

She hugged Isaac's neck, buried her face in his shoulder, and cried sadly.

Isaac patted her back gently, comforting her softly, "Alright, don't cry. I'm here."

Isaac's heart broke at the sound of her crying, and he could only keep comforting her.

Soren cried for a long time before stopping, but she still lay in Isaac's arms, sobbing.

Isaac sat down with her, took out a tissue from his pocket, and wiped her tears and nose.

Isaac asked, "Why didn't you go to school and came to find me alone? Does your mommy know you skipped school?"

Soren looked nervous. "Daddy, don't tell mommy. I missed you, so I sneaked out to find you. If mommy finds out, she'll personally pick me up from school and keep a close eye on me. I won't be able to come see you!"

Isaac said sternly, "You're still too young to go out on your own. You must always be with an adult when you go out."

Soren shot back, "I can cross the street and take a cab by myself. I don't need you hovering over me all the time!"

Isaac remained stern, "That's not the point. There are many kidnappers out there. If they see a child alone, they'll try to abduct you."

"You were just rescued from kidnappers a few months ago. Have you already forgotten that?"

Soren seemed to remember that terrifying experience, her face turning pale as she shrank into his arms.

She had indeed forgotten.

Isaac patted her back and said softly, "You were lucky today to meet good people and not get abducted. But you can't do this again. If you get kidnapped again, your mommy and I will be very worried and heartbroken."

Soren said softly, "I'm sorry, I was wrong. But I missed you so much, so I ran out."

Isaac softened his tone, "If you miss me, you can call me. If you csay you miss me, I'll come to see you right away."

Soren replied softly, "Okay, I won't do it again. But can you not tell mommy about today? I don't want her to worry."

Isaac agreed, "Alright, I won't tell her. But you have to promise not to run out alone again."

Soren nodded obediently.

She sat up on Isaac's lap, looked at him seriously with her tearful eyes, and asked, "Daddy, who is that woman in your house?"

Isaac's face instantly stiffened, looking awkward and conflicted.

He didn't know how to explain to Soren.

He couldn't tell the truth.

Soren continued to ask, "Is she your mistress, Daddy?"

Isaac's expression changed several times. He took a deep breath and said seriously, "No, don't think that."

Soren pouted and asked again, "If she's not your lover, why is she living in your house?"

Isaac said, "She's just a friend staying over."

Soren blinked and asked innocently, "What about the baby in her belly? Is she carrying your child?"
