Chapter 107 Betting with Isaac

Nora wanted to create some distance between them. But Isaac firmly held her hand, pulling her into his arms. With her strength, she couldn't break free from his grasp.

"Isaac, let me go!" Nora demanded.

She reminded, "I've divorced you, you're not mine. I can go wherever I want, it's none of your business!"

Mortimer also approached, and said, "Nora is right, you're divorced, you shouldn't interfere in Nora's personal life."

Isaac coldly stated, "She's carrying my flesh and blood now, she has to listen to me. I have the right to control her!"

Mortimer glanced at Nora, hesitating to speak.

The child in her belly indeed gave Isaac an excuse to keep entangling with Nora. If Nora agreed to get rid of the child, Isaac would have no reason to approach her. But he had already advised Nora, and since she didn't want him involved, he couldn't say more.

"The child in my belly is not yours!" Nora said angrily.

Isaac replied, "Whether it's mine or not, it's not up to you."

Nora, infuriated, retorted, "The child is in my belly, why shouldn't I have a say?"

Isaac responded, "The child didn't just jump into your belly on its own, so of course, you don't have the final say."

Nora snapped, "If I don't have the final say, then you definitely don't!"

Isaac, unfazed, half-smiled, and said, "Indeed, even what I say doesn't count. Let's use technology to verify.

"After some time, we'll get a DNA test. If it proves the child isn't mine, I won't interfere in your affairs anymore.

"But if it proves the child is mine, then you better obediently follow me. Until the child is born, you'll have to listen to me!"

Nora frowned.

Isaac, with a half-smile, teased, "Are you afraid to bet with me?"

Nora gritted her teeth, and said, "Of course, I'm not afraid! All right, as you said, we'll consult on when to get the DNA test as soon as we return! Remember what you said, don't regret it later!"

Isaac, with a half-smile, remarked, "That statement should be directed at you by me. You better not regret it."

Nora huffed.

She wouldn't regret it. Because she was certain the child couldn't be Isaac's. She had this in the bag.

"Now come with me," Isaac said and held her hand, bypassed Mortimer, and strode out.

Mortimer watched Nora and Isaac's backs, his gaze falling on their intertwined hands, a chill gradually creeping into his warm eyes.

No rush, once the DNA test was done, Isaac would have no reason to bother Nora. Nora followed Isaac onto a helicopter. After a two-hour flight, the aircraft landed in Aridonia. Then Isaac personally drove, taking Nora back to his mansion.

Inside the mansion, Kalista saw Nora returning with Isaac. Moreover, Isaac was holding Nora's hand, a hint of fierceness and grimness in his eyes.

That bad woman Nora had actually come back! Katie, why didn't she just kill Nora after capturing her? Why give Isaac the chance to find her?

Kalista took a deep breath, trying to suppress her anger, putting on a fake smile, and standing up with a smile to greet Nora.

Kalista greeted, "Nora, congratulations on your safe return. You must have suffered on the ship. Tonight, I'll have the servants prepare a delicious meal for you to make up for it. Make yourself at home here."

Kalista deliberately assumed the demeanor of a hostess, wanting to assert her authority and make Nora realize her place, to sensibly keep her distance from Isaac.

Before Nora could speak, Isaac coldly interjected, "I've reassigned all the household staff, no one will cook for you. You don't need to worry, I'll take you out to eat later."

The smile on Kalista's face vanished instantly.

She suppressed her anger and softly said, "Perhaps it's because of the pregnancy, my memory has been failing lately. They say pregnancy makes you stupid, and I'm experiencing it now."

Kalista intentionally brought up her pregnancy to hint to Isaac that she was also carrying his child, diverting his attention from Nora.

However, Isaac seemed to ignore her words.

He led Nora upstairs, hand in hand.

Kalista clenched her fists tightly, trembling with anger.

Isaac took Nora to her room, saying, "Go take a shower, change your clothes. I'll take you to the hospital later."

Nora hesitated. It had only been a month since she got pregnant. Could they already do a DNA test on the fetus?

Though she was puzzled, she didn't argue. It was better to clarify things early. Once the child's identity was confirmed, Isaac would have no reason to bother her.

Nora entered the bathroom and took a thorough hot shower. The conditions on the ship were limited, and she had been wiping herself with a towel for the past three days.

She hadn't even changed her clothes. Isaac probably noticed an unpleasant smell on her, prompting him to ask her to shower as soon as they got home.

After the shower and changing into fresh clothes, Isaac immediately took Nora downstairs, ready to head to the hospital.

Downstairs, Kalista approached Isaac with a gentle smile, and asked, "Isaac, can I join you for dinner?"

Isaac promptly refused, "You and Nora don't get along. Why force yourself into her presence?"

Kalista's mouth twitched.

Isaac continued, "If you two sit at the same table, neither of you will enjoy the meal. It's better if you don't come along. Go eat by yourself."

"Isaac, how can you treat me like this? I'm also carrying your child. Why don't you spend more time with me instead of always being with Nora?" Kalista's eyes reddened, and said, "The child in my belly also needs your care!"

She added, "Moreover, Nora's child isn't confirmed to be yours, but my child is one hundred percent yours. You should care more about me and the child!"

Isaac's expression darkened instantly.

He warned, "I'll say it again, don't insult the child in Nora's belly. I'm very certain it's my child! If you can't change this issue, then you can move out!"

Kalista's pupils contracted, a hint of panic in her eyes.

She pleaded, "Isaac, don't be angry. I'm not trying to insult your child. I'm just worried that you're being deceived by her."

Isaac looked at her with a dark gaze, "And what about you?"

Kalista asked in confusion, "What about me?"

Isaac didn't clarify further.

In a calm tone, he said, "You know what you've done. You're aware."

Then, holding Nora's hand, he walked out.

Kalista stood there in a daze, trembling with fear.

What did Isaac mean by that statement? He couldn't possibly know! Kalista felt it was impossible, yet she couldn't help but worry. Finally, she rushed back to her room and secretly contacted Mortimer.

Kalista asked, "Mortimer, it seems like Isaac suspects that the child in my belly isn't his. What should I do?"
