Chapter 318 For Her, Even the Child Can Be Forsaken
Nora felt a slight tremor in her heart upon seeing Gregory's response.
She thought, 'So, Magnus's psychological issues really stemmed from his fear of being abandoned by her? But they had been apart for so long before without any problems. Why did he react so strongly the last time she didn't come home for just one night? Why such a drastic change?'
Nora was silent for a moment and then told Gregory the specifics.
Nora: [Due to special circumstances, I wasn't able to be with Magnus shortly after he was born. I only kept in touch with him through video calls and occasionally visited him. Until about six months ago, he came to live with me. He is indeed very sensitive to being abandoned. When he first came to live with me, I considered sending them back to where they used to live, to let them live as they did before. His reaction was quite intense at the time and he felt that I didn't want him. But after I explained it to him, he gradually got better and had no abnormal behavior. He was always very well-behaved and sensible. Until about a month ago, I had to go out one night without telling him, and I didn't come home that night. Since the next day, he changed.]
Gregory: [To you, that night might have seemed like a very small matter, thinking that not coming home without informing him was trivial. But for someone with psychological trauma, that might be the heaviest blow. Therefore, I think it's reasonable that the incident that night triggered his psychological issues and abnormal behavior.]
Nora: "So what should we do now? Can he be cured? How long will it take?]
Gregory: [He needs psychological treatment now, which will definitely help, but whether he can be completely cured and how long it will take is uncertain.]
Although there was no definite answer, Nora immediately asked Gregory to prepare a treatment plan. Whether it would work or not, she wanted Magnus to receive treatment.
Even if Magnus couldn't return to his former self, at least his emotions should stabilize, and he shouldn't be filled with hostility towards the world.
Moreover, he might develop an antisocial personality in the future, posing a threat to society. So, his condition had to be treated.
Isaac walked up to her and read her conversation with Gregory. He lowered his voice and said to her, "The nanny Edmund found has arrived. I'll also look for the best psychologists worldwide to help treat him. And it is inconvenient to accommodate so many people. Would you consider moving to my place?"
Nora was silent.Although she had three rooms here, it would become very crowded if the nanny moved in. And Isaac's villa was large enough and indeed more suitable than her place.
But she had a significant concern that if she moved in with the kids, Daxton would find out.
Even if Isaac didn't publicly announce that they were his children, Daxton would suspect that the two kids might be Isaac's if he saw them living together as a family, and he might take drastic measures against them.
Nora hesitantly said, "I know it would be more convenient to move to your place, but how do we handle their identities?"
Isaac took her hand, looked into her eyes seriously, and said in a deep voice, "I won't let you go. You are always my wife. I know you can't bear to send the kids away, and I can't bear to separate you from them."
If Nora could bear it, he could too. But he knew that if he forced her to separate from the kids, she would be angry with him and become depressed, which was the last thing he wanted to see. So, to make her happy, he was willing to endure the pain of being a father to his rival's children.
Isaac seriously said to Nora, "Let's publicly announce that they are our children. I'm willing to be their stepfather."
Nora was silent and speechless about his self-sacrificing stance.
Stepfather? He was their biological father!
But she couldn't tell him that.
Nora looked at him with a complicated expression and said, "Are you really sure about it? If you acknowledge them, they will inherit your property in the future. Are you okay with that?"
Isaac said, "As long as you want them to inherit my property, I have no objections. After all, I can't take it with me when I die."
Nora's emotions surged for he was willing to go to such lengths to make her happy!
Although she knew that the kids were Isaac's children but Isaac didn't know that. And in his mind, the kids were his rival Mortimer's children, yet he was still willing to let them inherit his property.
It put a lot of pressure on her.
But on second thought, she felt she deserved it. Because she had sacrificed so many times to save Isaac, had been misunderstood by him for so long, and even now, he still had misunderstandings about her.
Nora looked at him and said, "I won't have any more children in the future. Are you okay with that?"
Isaac was stunned, a trace of loss and pain in his eyes. He hadn't expected that Nora wouldn't want to have children with him.
He pondered, 'Was she worried that if he had his own children, he wouldn't like Magnus and Soren or even accept their existence? To be honest, he couldn't guarantee that if they had their own children in the future, he would still treat Magnus and Soren the same way.'
Isaac was silent for a long time before he said hoarsely, "If you don't want to have children, I won't force you. It's all up to you. But my grandfather might want me to adopt my cousin's children to take over the Porter family's business. And Magnus and Soren can only inherit part of my property."
After all, The Porter family wouldn't allow their business to fall into the hands of outsiders..
"Nora, this is my biggest concession. I know it's normal for you to think about them as their mother, but please give me some understanding as well," Isaac continued.
