Chapter 340 Do you think I'm that easy to fool?
After Mortimer finished speaking, he could clearly feel the pressure drop on the other end of the phone from Isaac, and a dangerous aura seemed to come through the line.
Mortimer didn't care, a slight smile appeared on his face.
Before Isaac could get angry, he hung up the phone.
Isaac quickly called back.
But Mortimer didn't answer and even put the phone on silent.
The call went to voicemail.
Isaac didn't call again.
At this moment, Isaac was at home, his face livid with anger, his whole body exuding a cold and gloomy aura.
The servants in the living room were so scared that they didn't dare to breathe, nervously retreating from the living room, afraid of becoming Isaac's punching bag.
Although Isaac had never taken his anger out on the maids before, they were still scared.
Only those who didn't know Isaac would be fooled by his good looks, wanting to marry him, and become the future mistress of the Porter family.
Those who frequently interacted with Isaac knew how terrifying he could be.
Even if Isaac didn't mistreat them, they were still intimidated by his aura and the dangerous pressure he exuded, living in constant fear, feeling like their lifespans were being shortened.
They didn't have the strong endurance as Mrs. Porter, who could tolerate Isaac's unpredictable temper and the low pressure he emitted when angry, as well as the strong oppressive aura he unintentionally released at times.
Between coveting his looks and preserving their lives, they chose their lives, having no extra thoughts about Isaac, only purely admiring his beauty and physique.
Perhaps some had a few fantasies when they first arrived, but those fantasies would slowly disappear as they got to know him.
Isaac suppressed his anger, left the villa with a cold aura.
The sound of a car starting up and speeding away followed.
The villa returned to silence.
The servants all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"That scared me to death, Mr. Porter is terrifying when he's angry."
"I wonder why Mr. Porter was so angry? Where is he going now?"
"Mr. Porter is still angry and driving so fast, do you think he might have an accident?"
"Should we contact Mrs. Porter and have her call Mr. Porter to calm him down?"
"Mr. Porter seemed to be calling Mrs. Porter in the living room just now, and then he got angry."
"Oh my, are Mr. Porter and Mrs. Porter going to fight again? That's scary, I'm taking a sick day tomorrow, I don't dare face Mr. Porter after a fight."
As soon as this maid finished speaking, several other maids quickly ran to the neighboring servant's villa.
"Where are you going?"
Someone replied, "To ask the butler for leave!"
The maid stomped her foot angrily, "You guys are so sneaky, I was the one who said I wanted to take leave first, how can you beat me to it?"
She quickly ran over too.
At Mortimer's house.
Nora finally put on her clothes and came out of the bathroom.
Although the burning sensation had subsided, it still hurt a bit, making her walk a little unnaturally.
"Are you okay?" Mortimer stood up and asked with concern.
Nora said, "I'm fine, don't worry."
Mortimer smiled, "It's good that you're okay, otherwise I would feel guilty."
Nora said, "It was Magnus's mistake, it has nothing to do with you, you don't need to worry."
Mortimer didn't continue the topic, pointing to the phone on the table, he said, "Isaac had just called, I answered it for you seeing the phone ringing continuously, he asked when you would be back."
Nora picked up the phone, unlocked it, and saw several missed calls from Isaac, and one call that lasted less than thirty seconds.
Nora said, "It's getting late, I’m going to take the kids back, thanks for the dinner tonight."
Mortimer asked, "Do you need me to drive you?"
Nora shook her head, "Thanks, I can drive myself."
If Isaac saw Mortimer driving her and the kids back, he would definitely be furious.
Mortimer sighed, "We have grown apart, since you don't want me to drive you, I won't force you, be careful on the road."
Nora nodded.
She went to get Magnus and Soren who were still playing.
The two little ones reluctantly waved goodbye to Mortimer.
Nora took them to the car and slowly drove away.
Halfway home, she suddenly saw a familiar car on the opposite road.
Looking closely, she found that the driver was Isaac.
Nora honked twice.
After hearing the horn, Isaac glanced at her, his eyes cold and icy.
He quickly turned the car around and followed her.
When they got home and got out of the car, Nora immediately sensed that something was wrong with Isaac's mood.
Isaac's face was dark, and his aura was dangerously intimidating.
Even though she was used to facing his anger, she felt a bit uneasy.
Nora, afraid of scaring the kids, immediately handed them over to the servants, asking them to take the kids to their rooms to rest.
She then walked up to Isaac and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Why are you so angry?"
Isaac's aura grew even colder, his deep eyes filled with a bone-chilling coldness, staring at her clothes.
"You weren't wearing these clothes when you left today, where did you change? Why did you change?"
Nora explained, "We had dinner at Mortimer's house tonight, Magnus accidentally spilled Pozole Rojo on me, so I took a shower at Mortimer's house and changed into these clothes."
Isaac narrowed his eyes dangerously, "Why does Mortimer have your clothes at his house?"
Nora said, "I stayed at his house with the kids for a few days before, these were bought then, and I didn't take them when we moved out, I didn't expect him to keep them."
She explained honestly, but Isaac's face grew even darker.
"Do you think I'm that easy to fool?"
Nora said, "I'm not lying to you, it really was because of the spicy soup that I took a shower and changed clothes at Mortimer's house."
"Do you suspect I'm having an affair with Mortimer?"
Isaac pressed his lips tightly together, not answering Nora's question, but when she said "affair," a murderous look appeared in his eyes.
Nora looked at Isaac in disbelief, "You actually suspect I'm having an affair with Mortimer?"
"The kids were with me, how could I have an affair in front of them? Mortimer and I are innocent, if you don't believe me, you can ask Magnus and Soren yourself, ask them if I ever went to a room or any private space alone with Mortimer at his house!"
Nora was furious.
She couldn't believe that Isaac still didn't trust her.
