Chapter 322 Lying to Isaac
Nora didn't dare to barge in directly.
What if the surgery had already started? If she brought in a bunch of bacteria, the originally smooth surgery might be impacted. And if Isaac ended up infertile because of her intrusion, she would be more guilty.
Seeing this, the nurse hurriedly stepped forward to stop Nora. "Miss, please wait outside and do not disturb our medical staff!"
After that, the door to the operating room opened.
"Ms. Foster, please come in," the assistant who opened the door said politely.
Nora immediately walked in.
Seeing that Rhys's assistant had let her in, the nurse didn't stop her anymore.
Nora walked to the operating table and glanced at Isaac who lying on it, his eyes closed, looking peaceful and unconscious.
But he was still wearing his clothes and pants, so the surgery hadn't started yet.
Nora quietly breathed in relief and turned to look at Rhys. "I told you to stall him. Why did you still bring him to the operating room? If I hadn't rushed over, were you really planning to perform that surgery on him?"
Rhys said helplessly, "I had no choice. Isaac kept urging me. But don't worry, I only gave him anesthesia to make him lose consciousness. And I didn't perform it yet."
Nora sighed in relief and she was speechless about Isaac.
What was he thinking? Why did he suddenly want to get a vasectomy?
Rhys said, "Now that you're here, I'll take him to the ward first. When he wakes up, you can explain it to him. Or you can just tell him the surgery is done, so he won't secretly come to me again or blame me for telling you."
Nora thought Rhys's concern was very reasonable.
Isaac was the type who, once he decided to do something, was very determined to see it through.
Unless Nora changed her mind and said she wanted to have children with him, he would not give up on the idea of a vasectomy. Otherwise, he would definitely still have that thought.
"But if he doesn't feel any pain and has no wounds, won't he be suspicious?" Nora frowned and said.
Rhys smiled. "Just say it's a new technique and non-invasive and painless. And with my skills, it's normal for him not to see any wounds. If you're really worried, I can fake the wound, so his suspicion would be removed. What do you think?"
Nora hesitated for a moment and said, "Then do it."
To make the lie more believable, it was better to make a small mark.
Otherwise, if Isaac didn't believe it and went to another hospital for surgery there, it would be unstoppable.
Rhys nodded. "Got it, I'll do it now. Do you want to watch?"
Nora's face heated up, and she awkwardly waved her hand. "No. I'll wait outside."
Although she and Isaac were married and had done intimate things, she couldn't accept watching that.
Nora walked out of the operating room. She waited at the door for a few minutes, and then Rhys personally pushed Isaac out.
He assured Nora with an OK gesture. Then he took Isaac to the ward, and Nora followed.
The anesthesia would take two or three hours to wear off.
Nora quietly stayed by the bedside.
Looking at Isaac's handsome face, thinking about what he said yesterday and his actions now, she felt a mix of emotions.
Isaac's current kindness to her made her feel overwhelmed. And She couldn't respond to him, because she feared that Daxton might appear one day.
She was now living with Isaac and the kids. Even if she acted like she didn't get along with Isaac outside, and even if she had Isaac claim that the kids were his niece and nephew.
But would Daxton really not suspect anything?
She wasn't afraid of Daxton hurting her, but she was afraid the kids would get hurt.
She had signed a contract to be with Isaac, but her kids weren't bound by it, which could escape from this dangerous situation.
Once Magnus's condition improved, she had to find a way to send them away. She couldn't keep them around just for the sake of family.
Nora then fell asleep unknowingly.
When she woke up, she found herself lying on the hospital bed.
Isaac was sitting by the bed, looking at her with deep eyes.
Seeing her open her eyes, he smiled a captivating smile.
"Awake so soon?" Isaac's magnetic voice brought Nora fully awake.
She immediately sat up. "When did you wake up? Why didn't you wake me?"
Isaac said, "I woke up ten minutes ago. I saw you sleeping so soundly, so I didn't want to wake you."
Nora pursed her lips and looked at him with a complicated expression. "Why did you want to get a vasectomy? Aren't you afraid of the lingering effects that would make you unable to have children?"
Isaac smiled indifferently. "If I can't have children, so be it. You don't want kids, and I don't plan to have kids with anyone else. Even if there's an effect, it's fine, as long as it doesn't affect my functionality."
Nora's mouth twitched, and her face heated up.
Isaac didn't care about being infertile but cared about his sexual function? He was indeed a pervert!
"Aren't you afraid Edmund will be angry if he finds out?" Nora asked through gritted teeth.
Isaac said, "Just don't tell him."
Nora said, "What if he sees you're getting older and urges you to have kids, but you never do?"
Isaac replied, "Then I'll tell him I was born infertile. He might feel regret, but he won't be angry."
Nora fell silent.
Isaac rubbed her hair and chuckled, "Don't overthink it. I don't care about having kids or not. I only care about you. As long as you stay with me, I have no regrets."
Nora felt a mix of emotions. And she didn't know how to respond to him.
Isaac said, "You rest a bit more. I'll go find Rhys and ask him something."
