Chapter 264 Edmund Always Sides with Nora

"He doesn't look like me at all. I was way cuter as a kid," Isaac said, deadpan.

"You little brat!" Edmund's face twisted with anger.

They looked so alike, why couldn't he see it?

And honestly, Magnus was definitely better looking. He got the best genes from both Isaac and Nora, making him super cute and adorable.

Not ready to give up, Edmund said, "Magnus and Soren are three now. If Nora had your kids back then, they'd be about this age too."

Isaac's face darkened, and a gloomy vibe surrounded him.

Edmund kept pushing, "They're the same age and living with Nora. Isn't that a bit too much of a coincidence?"

Isaac gripped the steering wheel tighter, his knuckles whitening as if he wanted to crush it, his eyes blazing with anger.

Edmund was hitting him where it hurt. It was like he was reminding him that Nora had aborted his child, ran off with Mortimer, and then got pregnant with Mortimer's kids, giving birth to two brats for him!

So infuriating! He wanted to destroy everything!

Seeing Isaac's reaction, Edmund knew he hadn't even considered that Magnus and Soren could be his kids. He shook his head in disappointment.

This foolish kid, who did he get this from?

Forget it, no more hints.

"If you still want a good life with Nora and want her to accept you, you should treat those two kids well and consider them your own! If you want Nora to hate you forever, then keep giving them the cold shoulder!"

Isaac looked coldly.

Edmund said, "You can tell Nora's faking amnesia, right?"

Isaac looked at Edmund, surprised. "How do you know?"

Edmund smiled. "Feelings are hard to hide. She's too concerned about me, I can see it a mile away." His expression was smug.

Isaac's heart ached faintly.

Edmund said, "Nora's avoiding the past, so she's pretending to have amnesia. You need to behave well and make her forgive you, only then can you start over. Otherwise, both of you will be miserable."

Isaac felt a slight sting in his heart. "I get it. I'll behave. Whatever she likes, I'll like too."

Even if Magnus and Soren were her kids with another guy, he'd try to accept them.

After dropping Edmund off at home, Isaac drove back to Nora's place.

Nora, Magnus, and Soren were already asleep.

Isaac tiptoed back to his room. Thinking about what Edmund had said, he felt too agitated to sleep. Although he had decided to love everything Nora loved, the thought of raising someone else's kids and being good to them still made him feel uncomfortable. If Mortimer found out he was raising his kids, he'd probably laugh at him behind his back, right?

The next day.

Isaac got up with dark circles under his eyes.

"Uncle Isaac, why do you look so tired? You even have dark circles," Soren said, looking worriedly at Isaac.

Remembering what Edmund had said last night, Isaac's attitude softened a bit. He smiled at Soren and said, "I'm fine, don't worry."

Soren's eyes instantly lit up.

Isaac smiled at her again. He didn't seem as cold as he had been the past few days.

She started bouncing around happily.

After Isaac went to the kitchen, Soren ran back to the room and hugged Nora's leg as she was making the bed. "Mommy, Uncle Isaac smiled at me. He's warm again, just like before!"

Seeing Soren so happy, Nora felt a pang of sadness.

She reached out and patted Soren's head, smiling gently. "You two are so cute, who wouldn't like you? He might have been dealing with other troubles and neglected you."

Soren said happily, "I think so too. And Uncle Isaac looks so much like Magnus. Magnus likes me so much, Isaac wouldn't dislike me."

Nora put her finger to Soren's lips. "Shh, don't say that Magnus looks like Uncle Isaac in front of him, or to anyone else."

Although Soren didn't understand why, she nodded obediently.

"You and Magnus go to the living room first. I'll finish tidying up the room and then come out," Nora added.

"Okay," Soren replied.

Watching the children leave the room, Nora took a painkiller from the drawer.

These pills seemed to be highly addictive. The more she took recently, the more frequent her stomach pains became. She didn't know how much longer she could hold on. What would happen to her two children in the future? Now that Mortimer couldn't be trusted, she didn't know who else she could rely on.

The Porter family was absolutely not an option for them to return to.

Even if Isaac and Edmund could accept them, there was still Daxton lurking in the shadows, always ready to cause trouble.

After breakfast, Isaac personally drove them to the store.

Shortly after Isaac left, Edmund arrived again.

This time, he brought a lot of toys.

The store was almost too full to hold all the toys.

With a wave of his hand, Edmund immediately had someone buy the neighboring store. Then he had people start remodeling the store, turning it into a small playground just for Magnus and Soren. He even had a door installed between the two stores.

Then he locked the other store's main door, so the only way to access it was through the art studio, ensuring Magnus and Soren's safety.

"Once it's done, Magnus and Soren will have a place to play and rest, and it will be safer. Then we can hire a few preschool teachers and nannies, so you won't have to work so hard and can do what you love!" Edmund said with a smile.

Nora looked at Edmund with a complicated expression and asked, "Grandpa, why are you so good to Magnus and Soren?"

Edmund sighed and said, "You don't remember because of your amnesia. Four years ago, you were pregnant with Isaac's child. I almost became a great-grandfather, but unfortunately, the child didn't make it. I find Magnus and Soren adorable. I feel a connection with them, so I project my love for my great-grandchildren onto them. Don't feel pressured. I'm just making up for my regrets. The Porter family has plenty of money, so spending a little on them is nothing."

Nora secretly felt relieved.

So Edmund was just seeking emotional solace and hadn't recognized Magnus and Soren's true identities.

When Edmund brought so many toys, she had been so nervous, thinking he had found out.
