Chapter 229 Nora, This Time I Won't Let You Go

Isaac handed the marriage certificate to Nora. "Check this out. It's our marriage certificate. The name and birthdate match yours exactly. Think this is just a coincidence?"

Nora's face went pale, and she clenched her fists without thinking.

With the name and face being a perfect match, it was hard for her to brush it off as just a coincidence.

Isaac kept going, "If you still don't buy it, I can give you more proof. You have a red mole on the inside of your left thigh. There's also a tiny mole under your right breast. And..."

"Stop it, just stop!" Nora cut him off, her voice shaking.

Isaac smirked. "Even if the names are a fluke, the moles on your body can't be. I know every mark on you, your sensitive spots, what turns you on. I even know your favorite positions. You can check if you don't believe me."

Nora's face turned all sorts of colors before settling on bright red, and she started trembling.

What he said was super private.

Only by having close contact and by many times could one remember so clearly.

Could she really be Isaac's wife?

Had they really been in love before?

Nora tried to remember the name Isaac.

But as soon as she did, it felt like needles were stabbing her brain, causing intense pain.

She turned pale from the pain, her whole body shaking, and cold sweat soaking her clothes.

"Nora, what's wrong?" Isaac immediately stood up, pressing her down on the bed, trying to calm her.

"It hurts, my head hurts so much." Nora's face was twisted in pain, her voice weak and anguished.

Isaac had just had surgery last night, and his vision wasn't fully back yet. He could only see a blurry shadow and couldn't make out Nora's expression. But hearing her pained voice, he could feel how much she was suffering.

"Don't worry, I'll call the doctor right now. Hang in there." He let go of Nora and, relying on his familiarity with the room, quickly walked out the door.

"Mr. Porter," The maid at the door greeted him respectfully.

Isaac said in a deep voice, "Get Wesley to have Rhys come over ASAP!"

No one else had Rhys's contact info. Only Wesley could reach him.

"Got it, I'll do it right away." The maid didn't waste any time and quickly ran to find Wesley.

Isaac walked back into the room.

Nora lay on the bed, completely still.

Isaac hurried to the bedside, and in his rush, he stumbled when he reached the edge of the bed. He quickly reached out to feel for Nora on the bed.

Nora had clearly fainted.

Isaac reached out to feel her breath on his fingers, and only then did his tense heart relax.

Thank God, she was still alive.

He held her hand tightly, like he was holding a lost treasure.

About ten minutes later, Rhys came running into the room, panting.

"You brought Nora back? How is she?" Rhys's voice came first before he entered.

Seeing that familiar face, Rhys's nose tingled, and he almost cried. "Thank goodness, Nora is back!"

Isaac urged, "Hurry and check on her, what's wrong with her?"

Rhys wiped his moist eyes and walked to the bedside.

He first opened Nora's eyelids and looked at her eyes. Then he began to examine her.

Isaac pressed his lips together, anxiously waiting for Rhys's diagnosis.

After nearly five minutes, Rhys finally withdrew his hand.

Isaac was about to ask about Nora's condition, "She..."

But before he could speak, Rhys interrupted him, "Wait a moment, let me check again. Her pulse is a bit strange."

Isaac's heart leaped into his throat.

Strange? Could there be something seriously wrong with her?

Rhys moved to the other side and felt the pulse on Nora's other wrist.

Isaac anxiously waited.

After a while, Rhys finally let go of Nora's hand.

Isaac urgently asked, "How is she?"

Rhys hesitated for a moment and said, "Her pulse is normal."

Isaac's voice deepened. "Then why did she suddenly faint? And why did you say her pulse was strange earlier?"

Rhys shrugged helplessly. "I did feel a slight abnormality in her pulse earlier, but then it suddenly became normal. I don't know what's going on either; this is the first time I've encountered such a situation. But we can take her to the hospital for a more precise examination. Maybe we can find some useful information."

Isaac pressed his lips together, his aura dark and heavy.

Rhys asked, "What happened before she fainted? Did she faint without any warning?"

Isaac said, "She lost her memory. I told her some things about us, and she suddenly started shouting that her head hurt, and then she fainted."

"Amnesia?" Rhys frowned. "Amnesia is usually caused by a head injury. Nora has only been gone for a month. If she had a head injury, I should have been able to find it, but I didn't find anything earlier."

Isaac's face was terrifyingly dark.

Rhys patted his shoulder and comforted him, "Don't worry too much. These are just my preliminary conclusions. When she wakes up, we can take her to the hospital, and I'll thoroughly examine her head. Maybe we'll find out what's wrong."

Isaac said, "You can leave now."

Rhys sighed and left the room.

The room was now left with only the unconscious Nora and Isaac.

Isaac tightly gripped Nora's hand, bringing it to his lips and pressing his lips firmly against it. "Nora, this time I won't let go of you."
