Chapter 484: Have Another One Better Than Him
Magnus puffed out his cheeks in anger, then stormed out of the kitchen.
Isaac looked puzzled and turned to Nora, "Was I not supposed to accept the snacks he gave me? Was he just being formal?"
Nora slapped him lightly and twitched her mouth, "You forgot to kiss him!"
Isaac was stunned for a moment, then shook his head with a smile.
He handed the snacks to Nora and warned with a smile, "Hold these for me. Magnus gave these to me, so you can't take them."
Nora retorted, "I have my own, I don't need yours!"
Isaac went to the living room to find Magnus, hugged him, and kissed him on both cheeks and his forehead.
"Sorry, I was so happy to receive your gift earlier that I forgot to kiss you. Now I'm making up for it three times."
Magnus blinked his big eyes, which visibly brightened.
Isaac ruffled his little head, "You and Soren play in the living room for a while. I'm going to cook. Just keep an eye on her—don't let her munch on too many snacks, and you watch yourself too."
"I don't want you both to spoil your dinner. I've got a whole spread ready, and if you can't eat, I'll be really disappointed."
Magnus nodded solemnly.
Only then did Isaac return to the kitchen.
Since Nora had already prepared the ingredients, Isaac only needed to cook.
He finished the meal in just over half an hour.
The family happily ate at the table.
Because they had been apart for so long, Magnus and Soren were especially excited.
When people were happy, their appetite increased.
Magnus and Soren both ate more than usual.
Magnus also swept away the gloom of the day, his face always carrying a happy smile, chatting non-stop with Soren.
Because they were so excited, Magnus and Soren were reluctant to go to sleep at night.
It wasn't until nearly one in the morning that kids finally exhausted their energy, falling asleep with satisfied smiles on their faces.
Nora gave Isaac a look and whispered, "Let's go out and talk."
Isaac nodded lightly.
He knew that Nora wanted to ask him what Rhys had said to him when he went to the hospital later.
She hadn't asked anything when they got home in the evening, not wanting the kids to hear and worry too much.
The two carefully got out of bed, quietly left the room, closed the door, and walked into the living room.
They sat side by side on the sofa.
Nora turned her head to look at Isaac's profile and asked softly, "What did Rhys say when you went to see him? What's Magnus's real condition?"
Isaac was silent for a moment, then decided to tell Nora the truth.
He repeated everything Rhys had said to him in the hospital.
Nora's face instantly turned pale, and she trembled uncontrollably.
"How could this happen? Why do cruel things keep happening to one child? What did he do wrong to deserve so much suffering?"
Nora covered her face, sobbing uncontrollably.
"If God is dissatisfied with something, take it out on me. Why repeatedly torment my child? He's not even four years old, and he's already endured so much. Why does he have to suffer like this?"
Nora was very emotional.
But she didn't dare to shout too loudly, afraid of waking the kids.
If they saw or heard, they would worry again.
Especially Magnus, if he saw her breaking down over his illness, he would feel even more guilty, which would not only worsen his condition but also lead to more severe psychological issues.
Isaac reached out and held her tightly, "Don't get too upset. Rhys is working on a treatment plan. He will find a way."
"Magnus survived last time, and he will beat the illness this time too!"
Nora cried uncontrollably on Isaac's chest.
She didn't want Magnus to just survive; she wanted him to live a peaceful, uneventful life.
She didn't want him to go through so many hardships.
Isaac held Nora, feeling her trembling body, and his eyes reddened.
He also felt that it was too cruel for God to treat a child this way.
Worried about Magnus's condition, neither of them could sleep, and they sat in the living room all night.
At dawn, Isaac got up to prepare breakfast for Magnus and Soren.
Nora took an ice pack from the fridge to reduce the swelling under her eyes.
She couldn't let the kids notice anything unusual.
When kids got up, they had breakfast with them.
Isaac took Soren to school and didn't return for three or four hours.
In fact, the round trip from home to school only took about half an hour, so it was unclear what Isaac did with the rest of the time.
Maybe Isaac went to the company.
When Isaac returned home, he and Nora took Magnus out to play.
They hoped Magnus could always stay happy, as a good mood was beneficial for his condition.
But they hadn't been out for long when Magnus started having a nosebleed.
This time, the bleeding was heavy, seemingly more than what was seen on the monitor yesterday.
They tried conventional methods to stop the bleeding, but nothing worked.
Nora took him to the hospital.
Even at the hospital, the doctors couldn't stop the bleeding quickly.
It took more than half an hour for Magnus to stop bleeding.
Nora couldn't help but cry in front of Magnus.
Magnus lowered his head and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Mommy. I'm so useless, making you sad again."
Nora hugged him tightly, "It's not your fault. It's all my fault for not giving you a healthy body."
Magnus lay in Nora's arms, silently shedding tears.
He still felt it was his fault.
Magnus bit his lip and whispered, "Mommy, don't save me anymore. You and Daddy can have another healthy baby."
"Don't talk nonsense!" Nora choked, interrupting Magnus. "I won't give up on you. I just want you to stay with me. Even if we have another baby, it won't be you."
Magnus silently shed tears.
Nora and Isaac took Magnus home.
Before Rhys could come up with a treatment plan, they didn't dare let Magnus undergo chemotherapy, fearing that conventional treatment might not cure him and could worsen his condition, affecting Rhys's judgment.
While waiting for Rhys's results, they could only stay home with Magnus, preparing blood-boosting drinks and food for him.
After a week, Rhys finally contacted Isaac.
Isaac received the call and immediately went to see Rhys.
Rhys had arranged to meet at a coffee shop.
When Isaac arrived, Rhys was already there.
Isaac sat down across from him.
As soon as he sat down, he asked urgently, "How is it? Have you found a treatment method?"
