Chapter 458: It seems that you really don't love me anymore.

After sending the message, Nora waited for a long time but still didn't receive a reply from Isaac.

She angrily threw her phone aside and continued to soothe Magnus and Soren.

Magnus and Soren, exhausted, slowly fell asleep.

But Nora couldn't sleep at all.

Thinking about Isaac, she was sleepless the whole night.

The next day.

After dropping Magnus and Soren off at kindergarten, she went to the Porter Group.

She took a walk around the president's office. Finding that Isaac hadn't come to the company, she left without waiting.

During the day, she met with Harold as usual to learn some management and development experience from him.

She tried to use work to distract herself.

But as time went by and Isaac still didn't contact her, she became increasingly anxious and restless.

Was Isaac really planning to cut ties with her forever?

How was she going to explain this to Magnus and Soren?

Nora was extremely agitated.

Not knowing how to explain it to Magnus and Soren, she didn't dare to go home.

It wasn't until ten o'clock at night that she had no choice but to go back home.

She had to go back to let the nannies go home and rest.

Nora drove home, but she drove very slowly.

She was thinking about how to tell Magnus and Soren the "death" news of Isaac, whom they had always wanted to see.

She had said yesterday that if Isaac didn't contact her today, she would consider him dead.

She wasn't joking.

Today, Isaac was still avoiding her, which proved that he had accepted the decision in her message.

Although she could delay, she still dawdled to the door of her house.

She stood at the door for five minutes, took a deep breath, and then opened the door and walked in.

After entering the house, she didn't see the nannies, only Magnus and Soren playing games on the carpet in the living room.

"Mommy, you're finally back!" Soren immediately showed a sweet smile when he saw her.

Nora frowned and asked, "Where are the nannies?"

Soren replied, "The nannies have gone home!"

Nora's frown deepened, and she felt vaguely unhappy.

She hadn't come back yet, so why did the nannies leave Magnus and Soren alone and go home?

What if something happened to Magnus and Soren?

But the nannies had already left, and there was no point in being angry.

She could only think about talking to the nannies tomorrow, telling them to be more careful in the future and not to leave Magnus and Soren before she got home.

If there was an emergency, they should contact her first.

Nora collected her thoughts, suddenly pinched the outside of her thigh hard, forcing out some tears, and walked over to Magnus and Soren, reaching out to hug them.

"Mommy, why are you crying?" Soren immediately dropped his toy and asked in a sweet childlike voice.

Magnus also looked at her nervously, his eyes full of worry.

Nora choked up, "I have bad news to tell you, and you must be strong."

Magnus and Soren both became nervous.

Magnus asked softly, "Mommy, what news? We will be strong, don't cry."

As he spoke, he clumsily wiped her tears.

Soren hugged her neck, his soft little face rubbing against hers, "Mommy, don't cry. Magnus and I are very strong. Just tell us what you have to say!"

Looking at her two sensible children, Nora felt a pang of sadness.

She had only been pretending to cry, but now she really wanted to cry.

She bit her lip and said in a choked voice, "Your daddy, he..."

At this point, she seemed to get stuck and couldn't continue.

Soren glanced behind Nora, blinked, and asked, "What happened to daddy?"

Nora didn't notice Soren's gaze.

She took a deep breath and said solemnly, "Your daddy is dead. The reason he hasn't contacted us or come to see us is that he is no longer alive!"

"From now on, he won't appear again."

"I know you will be sad, but you are both big kids now. You have to learn to be brave."

"You can be sad, but you must be strong and look forward. You can't stay immersed in sorrow."

"Life always involves facing birth, aging, sickness, and death, as well as separation. You will encounter similar things in the future, so you must be brave!"

Nora finished in one breath.

She thought that Magnus and Soren would definitely cry upon hearing the news of Isaac's "death".

She was also mentally prepared to comfort them all night.

However, after she finished speaking, Magnus and Soren only showed puzzled and surprised expressions.

They didn't seem shocked or sad, and they didn't cry.

Nora was puzzled.

Were they too young to understand what death meant?

That wouldn't be the case.

They had seen small animals die before and had been sad and cried.

They couldn't possibly not know what death meant.

But if they understood what death meant, why were they so calm and not sad upon hearing the "news" of Isaac's death?

Could it be that they had no feelings for Isaac and didn't care whether he was alive or dead?

That was even more impossible!

Last night, they had cried for most of the night because Isaac hadn't contacted them.

They cared a lot about Isaac!

Just as she was puzzled, a deep, low voice suddenly came from behind her, "I didn't know I was already dead."

Nora froze, her eyes widening in disbelief.

It was Isaac's voice!

When did he come?

Nora immediately let go of Magnus and Soren and quickly turned to look behind her.

A tall figure suddenly came into view.

Isaac exuded an innate aura of nobility, with exquisite and beautiful features.

Nora stared at him blankly, her mouth stiff.

Isaac looked at her with a half-smile, his deep voice lazily asking, "Honey, may I ask where you got the news of my death?"

Nora forced a strained smile.

Where did she get it from?

Of course, she made it up!

Soren curiously asked, "Yeah, mommy, who told you daddy died? He's so bad. Daddy is clearly still alive, but he's spreading rumors that daddy is dead. Mommy, don't associate with him anymore!"

Magnus also nodded seriously, "Bad guy cursed daddy to die. We can't play with him!"

Nora could barely maintain the smile on her face.

The big bad guy was her.

Isaac pulled Magnus and Soren out of Nora's arms and said to them, "It's late. Drink your milk and go to bed."

He had just gone to warm up their milk.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he came out, he heard Nora spreading rumors that he was no longer alive.

He was greatly shocked.

He didn't expect her to be serious.

Magnus and Soren took the cups from Isaac's hands and obediently sat aside to drink their milk.

Nora awkwardly made eye contact with Isaac.

After Magnus and Soren finished their milk, Isaac took them to brush their teeth and then turned to Nora, "You should wash up too. It's time for you to rest."

Nora silently took her pajamas and went to the bathroom outside to wash up.

When she finished her shower and returned to the room, Isaac had already put Magnus and Soren to bed.

He had his eyes closed, breathing evenly, looking as if he was already asleep.

The kids were nestled in his arms, sleeping soundly with smiles on their faces.

Nora originally wanted to wake Isaac up and ask him why he hadn't contacted her during this time and why he had been avoiding her the past few days.

But seeing Magnus and Soren's peaceful sleeping faces, she couldn't bear to wake them.

Forget it, she would ask him tomorrow morning.

Nora sighed softly and lay down beside them.

Maybe it was because she hadn't slept all night, and her body and mind were already exhausted.

Maybe it was because Isaac was by her side, making her feel inexplicably at ease.

She fell into a deep sleep within a minute of lying down.

After her breathing became even and long, Isaac slowly opened his eyes.

In the darkness, he looked deeply at Nora.

After a long time, he slowly raised his hand, gently moving it towards Nora's face.

But just as he was about to touch her, he suddenly stopped.

His hand slowly clenched into a fist, and he eventually withdrew it, letting it fall weakly by his side.

Maybe it was because she hadn't rested the previous day, Nora was exceptionally tired and didn't wake up until almost noon.

The children and Isaac were no longer by her side.

Nora sat up in bed, annoyed, and patted her head.

"I want to talk to him this morning, how did I oversleep?"

"Forget it, I'll wait until tonight."

She sighed, got ready, and left the room.

In the living room, she saw a note left by Isaac on the table.

[Breakfast is in the warmer, remember to eat.]

Everything seemed to have returned to the way it was before.

But Nora felt a bit stifled inside.

Although Isaac had shown up last night.

The fact that he had been avoiding her the past few days still bothered her.

Isaac must be hiding something from her.

She wanted to find out what it was!

While eating breakfast, Nora sent Isaac a message: [Are you coming over tonight?]

She waited for five minutes, but Isaac didn't reply.

She thought Isaac wouldn't respond.

But just as she put down her phone, a message popped up.

It was from Isaac.

She immediately picked up her phone, opened WhatsApp, and clicked on the message.

Isaac: [Do you want me to come?]

Nora quickly replied: [Yes! Come over tonight, we need to talk!]

Isaac was silent for a moment before replying: [Okay, see you tonight.]

Nora breathed a sigh of relief.

He finally wasn't avoiding her!

Her mood suddenly improved.

In the evening, when Magnus and Soren were out of school, she went home and even bought groceries.

After getting home, she sent Isaac a message: [Are you coming over for dinner? If so, I'll ask the nannies to make more food.]

Isaac: [I'll come over after work and cook.]

Nora: [Okay.]

Nora let the nannies go home early and stayed at home to play with Magnus and Soren.

At seven o'clock, Isaac arrived home.

Magnus and Soren were very happy to see Isaac and immediately dropped their toys and ran to him.

"Daddy, I thought you weren't coming today!" Soren hugged Isaac's left leg and said in a sweet childlike voice.

Magnus hugged Isaac's right leg, his voice full of joy, "Daddy, can you come and be with us every day?"

Isaac squatted down, hugged them, and replied in a deep voice, "Okay, I'll come to see you often."

Magnus and Soren laughed happily, like carefree little fools.

Isaac affectionately ruffled their hair, "Alright, go play for a while, I'll go make dinner."

Soren said happily, "I'll help daddy!"

Magnus also added, "Me too!"

Isaac smiled and nodded, "Okay, you can both help."

So the two kids followed Isaac to the kitchen.

Nora had some free time and sat on the sofa to handle some emails.

Although the company had been set up and she had mostly delegated the work to others, there were still some things that required her attention.

When Isaac finished cooking dinner and called her to eat, she finally put down her phone.

During the meal, Magnus and Soren were very excited.

They hadn't had dinner with Isaac for a long time, and they were especially happy, eating twice as much food as usual.

Nora tried to stop them but couldn't.

Eating too much at night wasn't good.

But seeing them so happy, she let them be.

It was just this once, it wouldn't have much impact.

After dinner, the tow kids kept clinging to Isaac.

She couldn't find an opportunity to talk to him and had to wait until Magnus and Soren went to bed.

Tonight, she wouldn't let Isaac avoid her again!

At ten o'clock, after the kids went to bed, Isaac and Nora walked out of the room.

They sat down in the living room.

Isaac lowered his eyes, lost in thought.

Nora quietly watched him, not speaking, waiting for him to start the conversation.

Both of them were very patient.

They sat for half an hour without anyone speaking.

Nora started to feel sleepy.

She yawned.

Isaac said in a deep voice, "If you're tired, go to sleep."

Nora looked at him, "I thought you wouldn't speak."

Isaac was silent.

Nora stared at him and directly asked, "You've been back for so long, why didn't you contact me? Why did you avoid me when I went to find you the past few days?"

Isaac asked, "Why didn't you contact me? Do I always have to be the one to reach out to you?"

Nora frowned.

Isaac let out a self-deprecating laugh, his voice low, "I've been back for so many days, and you never contacted me. Have you forgotten that I exist?"

Nora's expression became a bit unnatural, "I didn't forget you, I was just so busy that I lost track of time."

"I recently started a company, and I've been so busy that I didn't even have time to pick up Magnus and Soren. You can ask Harold, I discuss things with him every day."

Isaac chuckled, "Do you think you're busier than me? I'm also very busy, but even when I was busy, I could always find time to contact you."

"Are you so busy that you don't eat or sleep? Can't you call me or send a message while eating? How much time does it take to send a message?"

Nora was left speechless.

Isaac's smile grew more bitter, "In the end, you just don't care about me, that's why you forgot about me because you were busy."

"If you really cared about someone, how could you completely ignore them just because you're busy?"

"It seems you really don't love me anymore."
