Chapter 397: Isaac Takes the Initiative to Show Goodwill, Is There a Conspiracy?
Liora looked at the message, her eyes widening with a mix of surprise and joy, her heartbeat instantly out of rhythm.
Isaac actually wanted to meet her?
Is he coming to Viridonia tomorrow just to see her?
The more Liora thought about it, the more she felt that Isaac must be coming to Viridonia specifically to find her.
Her love was coming!
However, she was still grounded by Sylvie. She needed to convince Sylvie to let her go; she couldn't miss her daily meetings with Isaac!
This felt like fate stepping in—no one could stop her and Isaac from being together!
Liora immediately called Sylvie.
The call was quickly connected.
"What is it?" Sylvie's voice was cold and reprimanding, "How's your reflection going?"
Hearing Sylvie scold her right away, Liora's frustration surged up instantly.
She suppressed her anger, her voice equally cold, "Let me out. Isaac is coming to Viridonia to meet me tomorrow."
Sylvie's voice was cold and deep, "Are you joking? I think you've been locked up too long. Isaac has never even talked to you. How could he be coming to Viridonia to meet you?"
"I know you're proud and think only the best men in the world are worthy of you, so you're overly obsessed with Isaac and jealous of Amara getting close to him."
"But I also hope you need to be rational. Don't throw away the family's interests for some guy."
"No matter if Amara is as good as you, as long as she can win Isaac over and get him to marry her willingly, she is doing her part for the Hansen family, and you can't sabotage that."
"Stop dreaming. I'll find yiou a suitable husband in the future."
"For now, continue reflecting. When you realize your mistake and promise not to repeat it, I'll let you out and back to work."
"Even though you're better than Amara, you're not so indispensable that the company can't function without you. Don't overestimate your abilities!"
Sylvie's words were harsh.
She had never belittled Liora before, never said her abilities were good but not exceptional.
But this time, Liora's actions had caused her significant trouble, almost ruining her plans, making her very angry and leading her to speak harshly to Liora.
Sylvie didn't believe Isaac would come to Viridonia just to see Liora; she thought it was all Liora's imagination.
Even if Isaac were coming to Viridonia, it would be to see that child, not Liora.
Liora's face twisted with anger after hearing Sylvie's words.
Sylvie actually doubted her abilities!
She even said her contributions to the Hansen family were less than Amara's.
She had contributed to the Hansen family for so many years, and her contributions were less than Amara's by seducing Isaac?
"Alright, continue reflecting. Contact me when you've figured it out. If you can't, don't bother me."
Sylvie spoke coldly, ready to hang up.
"Wait!" Liora stopped her.
Sylvie asked, "What else?"
Liora suppressed her anger, "I'm not dreaming. Isaac really told me he's coming to Viridonia to see me tomorrow."
"And Isaac doesn't like Amara. He finds her annoying. If it weren't for your threats forcing Amara to live with him, he wouldn't even give her a second glance!"
Sylvie said disappointedly, "You really don't know how to repent. After all I've said, you still don't realize your mistake and even slander Amara!"
"When will you grow up?"
Liora gritted her teeth, "I'm not slandering her. Isaac said it himself. If you don't believe me, come see me, and I'll show you the evidence!"
Sylvie laughed, but it was angry sound, "Fine, you better have the evidence. If you don't, stop complaining that I'm biased towards Amara!"
Liora's heart ached, holding back tears as she hung up the phone.
Even though she was a strong woman, she couldn't shake off the hurt from her family's unfair treatment.
Clearly, she was more excellent. Why was the one receiving biased treatment not her, but Amara, who was inferior to her in every way?
Sylvie was a biased mother!
Liora wiped away the unshed tears and waited in her room for Sylvie to arrive.
She was locked in her own room at home, the windows sealed, the door locked, and guards outside. Without Sylvie's order, she couldn't leave the room.
A few minutes later, the door opened, and Sylvie came in wearing pajamas.
"Where's the evidence?" Sylvie asked directly.
Liora suppressed her anger, took out her phone, and opened Isaac's Facebook to show Sylvie.
But when she opened Isaac's Facebook, she found that Isaac had deleted the post.
Fortunately, she had saved a screenshot.
She opened the screenshot and showed it to Sylvie.
After looking at it, Sylvie frowned, "Is this really Isaac's Facebook post? Or did you just make it up?"
Liora sneered, feeling a chill in her heart.
Did Sylvie distrust her that much?
She didn't explain, directly opening Isaac's chat window to show their conversation.
"See for yourself. He said he's coming to meet me tomorrow."
Sylvie carefully read the chat, frowning deeply.
"These messages don't seem like Isaac's style."
Liora shot back, "Mom, what do you mean? Are you implying I had someone pretend to be Isaac? If you don't believe me, take his account to Amara and compare. You'll see if it's really Isaac!"
Sylvie explained, "I'm not doubting the account is his, but his tone and attitude in the chat don't match his usual demeanor. I suspect..."
Liora interrupted Sylvie, confidently saying, "No matter how aloof a man is, he'll drop the act in front of the woman he likes. Do you see me talking to any man first? Yet I reached out to Isaac!"
Sylvie still frowned, worried, "If it were before, I wouldn't doubt it. But now, after you hurt his son, he suddenly shows you kindness. It makes me suspicious."
Liora's heart tightened with anxiety.
It did seem too coincidental.
She asked nervously, "I never mentioned the child to him. Did you tell him I hurt his son?"
Sylvie replied, "How could I? I made sure to handle everyone who knew about that night."
Except for her trusted assistant of over twenty years.
But she trusted that assistant. He had done many illegal things for her and wouldn't betray her.
Otherwise, she could easily have him executed multiple times with a snap of her fingers.
Sylvie continued, "I told Isaac his son's injury was an accident. He didn't pursue it, but he clearly didn't believe me. I'm worried he found out something."
"How about this, ask him about the child and see his reaction. If nothing seems off, then it's just my overthinking."
Liora spoke anxiously, "I don't know how to ask."
Sylvie took her phone, typed a message, and sent it to Isaac.
[By the way, your son got seriously injured at my house. Aren't you angry?]
[Don't you blame us for not taking good care of him and letting him get hurt?]
