Chapter 307 She Is Her Biological Daughter
Rhys laughed as if he had heard a joke. "How is that possible? Such a small child, if he were really swapped, there would be so many flaws. You wouldn't even need a DNA test, you could tell just by looking. A three-year-old pretending to be someone else? There's no way they wouldn't slip up. Besides, to completely disguise appearance and height, that's extremely difficult. Did you notice anything unusual?"
Isaac said, "His appearance and height are fine, but his personality has changed, and it's very bizarre."
Rhys said, "A change in personality could be due to some kind of trauma. It doesn't necessarily mean he was swapped."
Isaac had thought of this too. But he still felt that the possibility of Magnus being swapped was not low.
He couldn't find any evidence about it, but he just had this feeling. "Stop asking so many questions. Just do as I say," he said irritably.
Rhys sighed. "Got it, when I check on him, I'll take a sample and help you test it."
Isaac replied, "Okay."
He didn't wait at the hospital for he had been at the hospital for taking care of Edmund these days and spent very little time at the company.
So he had to go there first to handle some urgent matters.
Nora, worried about Magnus's condition, stayed by the door of the ward to keep track of his status.
After waiting for over an hour, a familiar figure suddenly appeared.
"Rhys? You're finally back!" Nora said excitedly, "Quick, go check on Magnus's injuries. He's seriously hurt."
Nora quickly explained Magnus's condition to Rhys.
After listening, Rhys comforted her, "You don't need to worry too much. As long as his wounds aren't infected and the injured areas aren't necrotic, I can make sure he fully recovers. Children have a remarkable ability to heal. As long as the broken parts are reconnected and there's no infection, he'll recover quickly."
Hearing Rhys's words, Nora finally relaxed a bit. "The doctor said the wounds aren't infected, but his blood vessels are too thin, and some of the bones are shattered too badly. The doctors here can't perform such precise surgery."
Rhys said, "Got it, I'll go in and take a look first. You wait outside."
Nora nodded.
Rhys pushed the door and went in. He first checked Magnus's injuries. After the examination, he quietly plucked a few strands of his hair. Then he walked out of the ward.
"Rhys, how is he?" Nora immediately approached and asked anxiously.
Rhys said, "His body is fine, and the wounds are manageable. We can proceed with the surgery, but before that, we need to take some detailed CT scans. Contact the doctor to do that, and once I've reviewed them, we can prepare for the surgery."
Nora was overjoyed and nodded vigorously. "Got it, I'll go find the doctor right now!" She then ran off to find the doctor.
Rhys took Magnus's hair to the lab for DNA testing. And he had Nora's data before. It was easier to do the comparison.
An hour later, the comparison results came out.
He then immediately informed Isaac that Magnus was indeed Nora's child.
And he wasn't surprised by it. Because during the time when Nora had her accident, he went to see Isaac, and he accidentally overheard Isaac's drunken ramblings, which revealed that the two children were Nora's and Mortimer's. Moreover, he also heard that Isaac had deliberately humiliated Nora and driven her to her death for she had children with Mortimer. Then he got shocked but didn't dare bring it up when Isaac was sober.
Meanwhile, Isaac was at the company handling some documents. He looked at the message from Rhys, his brows furrowing tightly.
He thought, 'So Magnus wasn't swapped. Then why has he become so strange? Is it really just a drastic change in personality? He didn't change when he was sold to a rural village, so why would he change just because Nora didn't come home for one night?'
Although Isaac couldn't figure it out, the DNA test confirmed that Magnus hadn't been swapped. So he could only continue to be puzzled.
He then put down his phone and continued dealing with his work.
Back at the hospital.
After the DNA test, Rhys went to find the doctor who had been treating Magnus to understand his condition better. He also reviewed the newly taken scans and began formulating a surgical plan.
In less than an hour, he had the surgical plan ready. Then he immediately had the staff prepare for the surgery. He also informed Nora of it.
Two hours later, Magnus was wheeled into the operating room.
Nora anxiously waited by the door of the operating room. Despite her trust in Rhys's skills, she still felt nervous.
Time passed by slowly.
Nora felt like every second was an eternity, her heart racing, and every nerve in her body on edge.
By evening, the surgery was still not over.
Isaac had finished work and arrived at the hospital.
When he reached the door of the ward, Nora didn't notice him. Her entire focus was on the operating room, praying for it to open soon.
Isaac put his arm around her shoulder, gently patting it. In a low voice, he said, "Don't be too nervous. With Rhys operating, there won't be any accidents."
Nora was startled and shivered slightly.
Isaac tightened his grip, pulling her into his embrace. "Don't be scared, it's me."
Nora finally realized. She then turned to look at Isaac, stepping out of his embrace. "Thank you. I know with Rhys operating, there shouldn't be any accidents, but I still feel nervous." After all, the person undergoing surgery was her child.
Isaac seemed to understand Nora's words and didn't say anything more, silently standing by her side, waiting for the surgery to end with her.
The surgery went on for another two hours before the light in the operating room finally went off.
Then, the door of the operating room opened.
Several nurses came out first.
A moment later, Rhys emerged.
"How is he?" Nora asked nervously.
