Chapter 386 Filled with Hatred for Him
Nora had been unconscious for over ten hours.
When she woke up, her mind was blank, and she felt a bit confused.
"Nora, you're finally awake. How are you feeling now? Are you hungry? I'll have someone bring you some food. You should eat something first. You haven't had anything in almost two days. If you don't eat, your body won't handle it."
A familiar, gentle voice sounded in her ear.
Nora turned her head and saw Mortimer's concerned face.
Mortimer? Why was he by her bedside?
Nora was stunned for a moment, and then some images flashed through her mind.
Magnus was severely injured and unconscious, vomiting blood in her arms.
And Rhys came out of the operating room, telling her to be prepared, saying that Magnus might be paralyzed or in a vegetative state.
"Magnus, where's Magnus? How is he?"
Nora suddenly sat up from the bed, her voice trembling as she asked.
She threw off the covers and got out of bed, wanting to find Magnus.
But having not eaten for a long time, her body was very weak. As soon as she stood up, she felt dizzy and her vision went black.
"Nora, calm down. You haven't eaten for almost two days. Your body can't handle that. Eat something first, then go see Magnus. He is still alive, try not to worry too much." Mortimer pressed Nora back onto the bed and patiently explained to her.
Nora pushed him away and stubbornly got up to leave, "I don't want to eat, I want to see Magnus!"
Mortimer grabbed her shoulders and pressed her back onto the bed, saying seriously, "Nora, just hear me out for a second."
"Magnus is still in the ICU. Even if you go there, you won't be able to see him. You can only wait outside the ward, which won't help Magnus at all."
"You need to take care of your own body first. Eat something, regain yuor strength, and then you can better accompany Magnus."
"If you keep ignoring your own health and just wait outside Magnus's ward, you're going to wear yourself out before he wakes up. You won't even get to see him wake up."
Nora bit her lip hard, her body trembling uncontrollably, and her eyes turned red.
Mortimer could tell she was finally listening.
He sighed helplessly and gently ran his fingers through her hair, "Listen, you need to be strong. You are Magnus's mother, you can't fall apart."
"If you break down, who's going to look out for him?"
"You've seen how Isaac is with Magnus. Do you think if you collapse, he will take good care of Magnus? He hates me so much that even if I wanted to take Magnus away, he wouldn't allow it."
"You need to take care of yourself first so you can better take care of and protect Magnus."
Nora clenched her fists tightly, her eyes filled with hatred.
Magnus was severely injured by Isaac's kick.
She would never forgive Isaac!
If anything happened to Magnus, she would kill Isaac, even if it cost her own life, to avenge Magnus!
Nora took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing her inner turmoil, and said to Mortimer, "You're right. I need to take care of myself first to protect Magnus."
"Can you have someone whip up some food. I'll eat and then go see Magnus."
Mortimer breathed a sigh of relief and replied softly, "Alright, I’ll get someone on that right away.. You go freshen up first."
Nora nodded lightly.
Half an hour later, Nora, having freshened up, appeared in the dining room.
The kitchen had already prepared the food and brought it to the table.
Thinking about Magnus's condition, Nora felt too anxious to have an appetite.
But to better take care of and protect Magnus, she forced herself to eat.
Mortimer sat opposite her, eating with her and occasionally serving her food.
Nora's mind was in a mess. Even while eating, she was thinking about other things and didn't notice Mortimer constantly serving her food. So she didn't refuse and ate whatever Mortimer served her.
Mortimer smiled, feeling very pleased.
After eating, Nora went to the hospital with Mortimer.
When they arrived at the ICU, she saw Isaac sitting on a chair at the door from a distance.
Nora's face instantly darkened.
She quickened her pace and walked quickly to Isaac.
Isaac's lips moved.
Nora slapped Isaac hard across the face.
The words he was about to say were swallowed back.
"Get out, and don't you dare come near my son again!" Nora shouted coldly, her eyes red as she glared at Isaac.
Isaac lowered his eyes, not daring to look directly at her hateful eyes, and said with difficulty, "I'm sorry."
Nora interrupted him harshly, "Get out! You didn't wrong me, you wronged Magnus. If he doesn't wake up, I'll send you to hell!"
Isaac nodded, "Okay."
If something really happened to Magnus, he was willing to use his life to make up for his mistake, to personally apologize to Magnus, and to accompany him below so he wouldn't feel lonely and scared.
Isaac stood up, looking deeply at Nora.
But Nora was full of disgust and didn't want to look at him at all.
He could only leave silently.
Nora silently kept watch at the door of the ward, occasionally standing up to look inside through the small window.
Seeing Magnus lying unconscious on the bed, a sharp pain twisted in her heart like a knife.
Mortimer stayed by her side silently.
Every half hour, he would bring her a glass of water.
At mealtime, he would have someone prepare food and then remind her to eat.
To better accompany Magnus, Nora forced herself to eat on time, even if she had no appetite.
She didn't stay outside Magnus's ward day and night.
When it was time to rest, she would go back to her room to rest.
She knew that staying there was useless and would only ruin her own health.
She had to take care of herself first.
The next day, when Nora's emotions had settled a bit, she went to see Soren.
Magnus wasn't her only child; she also had Soren.
Soren couldn't hear now and lacked a sense of security. She couldn't neglect Soren.
When she walked into Soren's yard, she saw Isaac by Soren's side.
Nora's eyes narrowed, and her anger flared up instantly.
She quickly ran over and pushed Isaac away forcefully, shouting angrily, "Hurting Magnus wasn't enough for you? Now you want to hurt Soren too?"
Isaac explained, "I didn't hurt her. The person taking care of her said she couldn't see us and was very agitated. I saw you were with Magnus, so I didn't let them disturb you. I came to accompany her myself."
Nora shouted harshly, "Stop pretending. I know you hate my children. You hurt Magnus and now you're trying to hurt Soren too!"
"No, you already hurt Soren. She was just lucky not to be killed by you!"
