Chapter 131 She Was Being Used from the Beginning
Chapter 131 She Was Used from the Beginning
"Darling, who's at the door? Why are you still talking?"
At that moment, a timid voice echoed from inside the house.
The voice sounded familiar.
Sophia turned even paler, pushed Cole away hard, and burst into the house with a sullen face.
"Ivy? Is that you? What did you call Cole just now?" Sophia looked at Ivy in disbelief.
She knew Ivy, Cole's cousin.
When she first visited Cole's house, Ivy was already living there.
Cole told her that Ivy was his uncle's daughter.
Both her uncle and aunt unexpectedly passed away, leaving Ivy homeless, so his parents adopted her.
Ivy smiled and said, "Oh, Sophia, you were discharged so soon?"
"What did you call Cole?" Sophia sharply repeated.
Ivy innocently blinked and said, "Darling. Is there any problem with that?"
Sophia was full of disbelief. "Aren't you his cousin? How can you call him Darling? Are you engaging in incest?"
Ivy chuckled, glancing at Cole with a hint of blame and saying, "Darling, haven't you told Sophia about our relationship yet? Well, since I'm here, let me explain."
Ivy smiled shyly and said, "I am recognized as Cole's uncle and aunt's adopted daughter, so there's no blood relation between Cole and me. We have been engaged since we were very young. Oh, and seven years ago, when I turned twenty, Cole and I already got our marriage certificate."
Shocked, Sophia stared at Cole in disbelief.
'Have they had an engagement since childhood? Did they get married seven years ago? Did Cole marry Ivy before we got together?' Sophia felt like she was in a dream, her mind blank.
This revelation was even more difficult to accept than what happened on their wedding day!
"Is what she said true?" Sophia's eyes, red with emotion, looked at Cole.
Cole replied, "Yes."
Tears instantly streamed down Sophia's face as she painfully asked, "If you were already married, why are you be with me?"
'Is our relationship a deception from the very beginning?' Sophia thought.
Ivy walked up to Cole, affectionately holding his arm, and smiled at Sophia, softly saying, "Aridonia's properties are so expensive. Without being with you, how could we afford this house in such a prime location in Aridonia? Oh, the car, the company Cole started, all thanks to you."
Since the truth was out in the open, Ivy no longer concealed their true intentions.
Sophia staggered back, a chill creeping into her heart.
'So they are conspiring together to deceive me for money!'
Sophia burst into laughter, tears streaming. "You're truly generous, willing to offer your husband to other women for money!"
Ivy chuckled. "Since Cole never slept with you and merely pretended to be with you, gaining so many benefits, of course, I'm willing. If we didn't do this, we could never settle in Aridonia for the rest of our lives, let alone live a prosperous life."
Sophia was stunned as she questioned, "What do you mean?"
Ivy sarcastically remarked, "Fool, do you really think Cole has slept with you? Using your stupid brain to think. Every time Cole wanted to be intimate with you, did he take you to a hotel outside? Did he always make you drink and then turn off the lights in the room?"
A cold fear crept into Sophia's heart as she began to have dark suspicions.
"Shut up!" Sophia didn't want to know the truth, sharply interrupting Ivy and covering her ears.
However, Ivy grabbed Sophia's hand, forcefully pulling it down, and continued cruelly, "After dating you, Cole secretly arranged for a 'buyer' to provide sexual services three times a month for thirty thousand dollars. Since the buyer is getting married soon and ending the arrangement, you've lost your utility value, so we're cutting ties with you."
Sophia carefully thought back and realized. 'Indeed. For the past seven years, I had been going to hotels three times a month.'
Sophia slumped onto the floor in a daze, feeling frustrated. "Why treat me like this? I've never harmed you."
Ivy and Cole looked at Sophia with disdain as if she were a fool.
Not everything in this world had a reason.
If Sophia had money and was useful to be exploited, she should bear the risk of being deceived.
"Don't blame us. Blame your foolishness. You are too easily deceived. With so many wealthy women in the world, why does it have to be you?" Ivy smirked.
Cole impatiently added, "Enough. This kind of despicable woman who sells herself disgusts me. Hurry up and get her out. Don't let her dirty our house!"
Cole grabbed Sophia's arm and forcefully dragged her out of the house.
Behind her, Ivy's triumphant voice could be heard, "Oh, I almost forgot to thank you for one thing. Five years ago, when I gave birth to Cole's child, thank you for taking care of me and the child for so long."
Sophia's heart clenched with pain as she wasfilled with anger and hatred.
Cole coldly looked at her and said, "If you don't want more of your private videos to be exposed, don't come here again in the future. This house is mine. It has nothing to do with you. I even specifically covered your private parts in the wedding video, not fully exposing you, giving you some leeway. If you don't know your place, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
After his threat, Cole forcefully closed the door.
Sophia sat on the ground in despair, tears flowing uncontrollably.
As she cried, Sophia suddenly laughed. The laughter grew louder, mocking her foolishness.
After Sophia was discharged, Nora also completed her discharge procedures and messaged Steve, telling him not to come to the hospital to pick her up.
However, in the evening, Steve unexpectedly went to her home.
"Why are you here?" Nora looked at him in surprise.
Steve raised an eyebrow and said, "Din't you contact me first?"
Nora replied, "I did it to deal with a friend, to let him know I have a loving boyfriend. At that time, you cooperated with me on the phone. I think you understood my intention; I was playing along on the phone, not expecting you to find me. But since you're here, I'll give you the bank card. You forgot to take it when you left last time."
As Nora prepared to go inside to get the card, However, Steve suddenly stepped forward, grabbing her wrist. His deep eyes stared at her intently.
"What are you doing?" Nora asked.
